    I really like the flow of these recent videos; it's nice that someone can take it a little bit slower in this TikTok-era we live in. It feels like videos for adults :D

    I do agree it's not an one side thing. Therefore, it's more a way to refresh your ears and having a general idea. Ultimately you have to get the best out of your song because it is unique. Unless you try to do exactly the same thing.

    I still haven’t found a way to properly reference and I fear I’ll never find one 😂.

      Haha...Honestly, I think it’s actually a good thing. When I create my own music I always avoid music beforehand, as I find that it makes me more open to new ideas. I think people can get too attached to the idea of creating music that sounds like something else.

    I have one rule about references mixes...
    *Don't use reference tracks while mixing..only use it before or after mixing...to really hear where your idea is going..

    • @thomas_juth
      @thomas_juth  Месяц назад

      That is actually a really great rule! 👌 I forgot to mention in the video that I do listen to a lot of music in the studio, to regularly calibrate my ears to different styles. Sometimes also at the start of a project, if the client sends me a reference to listen to. But yeah, I never use reference tracks while mixing. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
