I’ve been a glazier for 25 years and I have to say there’s no way in hell I’ll ever use a push point again since i bought my point gun about 10 years ago. If you’re ever doing a lot of cabinet glass, it’s a good investment.
Given that it’s a wooden door with stripped paint if you don’t add a top coat primer to that wood before inserting the putty glazing the woods pours will soak up the oil of the putty causing it to crack and need to be replaced way sooner
Seems practical to me

No backing putty ?
This should have been the video that saved my day, but I needed a close up shot of putting the points in place.
At least the doors are the same.
How much does a worker who only installs glass get paid???
If you put a dab of clear silicone in the corners of the glass, it will help with the glass rattling.
I use the 32nd of an inch setting blocks that are usually used on shower side lights
That's not a putty knife.
Far enough away so you cant really see which way its faced. 😂
The little metal pieces are called points.
Yeah, wear safety gloves, just like she does…oh, wait - she is not wearing any🙈🤦♂️
Find a real glazier that does, you won’t.
