I got this bike not too long ago, my first E-bike and I've been super pleased with it. there were some discrepancies from what was on the listing but no complaints although I don't suggest riding without the pedal assist because having an additional 79 pounds while trying to ride. according to the display i was able to get it to 35mph but in reality, it was only going 25 which hey not bad. also, I'm 6'9'' and weigh 350lbs. (what on the listing is the limit for the weight) being that tall the bike is also very comfortable to ride for anyone wondering.
This is the best review I've seen on the brawn so far this bike is definitely on my short list for my next e-bike, keep up the great reviews love the channel
I've had my Brawn for about a week. I like it. Very easy to assemble. I weigh 220 and probably about 230 or more with my boots and winter gear. I got about 24 miles on a ride and battery was down to 44 volts. I also have a backpack on with easily 20 pounds or more in it. Temperatures here were 40 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit and probably not optimal for the battery. I got the rear rack and fenders and meachow mirrors for both sides. It'll do 28 mph easily on a full charge. One problem, my phone app won't connect with the bike and according to other RUclips videos this is a common problem. It'll tell me the battery percentage and thats all I get from it. Heybike has sent me two different links for the app and neither one works. I'll keep correspondence with their support team until they figure out what the problem is. Very well made bike with no squeaks or rattles. I have 120 miles on it in a week and am satisfied with overall performance. I recommend a spandex seat cover because the seat has a grabby texture and I've got a little chafing, easy fix though and seat is very supple otherwise. Also a very nice looking bike, especially with the accessories.

yes, I think the larger battery on the brawn is a great idea for range improvement too. You may want to consider the Hovsco HovAlpha as well which I reviewed on my other channel: ruclips.net/video/W78T-EXzbic/видео.html it has a similar look, and it has an even larger battery, and a torque sensor which is really beneficial for range improvement as well. The motor is importing pretty much a constant power under certain velocity, your paddling it’s just gonna be an extra power and torque to help the bike accelerate forward. Since you’re paddling increase velocity, it requires less energy from the battery to run same distance
It says that this class of bike is not allowed on trails because it’s a class three. Is that true? Also, it goes 28 miles an hour with no pedal assist? Could it go faster with pedal assist? I don’t know if I understand the difference. I want to be able to use it on trails.
I guess it depends on where you live regarding enforcement. As long as the bike has pedals I feel like you'll be fine. Pedaling will basically just help you save battery life, not achieve a speed higher than 28mph. My other channel showcases a bike you're more likely to get in trouble with: ruclips.net/video/nj287kFgCGM/видео.html But even still, here in LA I have yet to get in any trouble with it and I ride all the time 😆 Just follow the "don't be a jerk rule" and you'll be good, e-bikes are everywhere and you can barely tell this one is even an e-bike.

Ive never had one but I saw a video about the proper torque of the clamp at the seat tube. If its too tight, it squeezes the sliding tube. Also, contamination, dirt, grease, sticky stuff, can gum up the works. Have a bikeshop check the torque of the clamp if you don't have a torque wrench and make sure everything is clean. Inspect the cable and thumb lever also for possible kinks or adjustments.
What size is this bike? I think this bike is an small bike for me. I'm 5"11', and I don't like small bikes for me. I saw your excellent video and review and I think this bike is small. What is your opinion about this?
I am 6’5” so I might make the bike look a little bit small, I actually sold this one to somebody who was about 5’7” and they thought it was fine, they also said they rode it for a whole week before they put it on the charger, I’m guessing they put quite a bit of pedaling effort in

@TailHappyTV tried it, over 20 times. I am familiar with these procedure. I tried making other adjustments on the caliper too. I won't ride the bike until it's fixed because it is so annoying. I got the bike a week and a half ago and I can't get the noise to go away. when I was assembling the bike, I noticed the front caliper pads were compressed and I had to shimmy them open. they are real snug. we're your pads closed when you got the bike? I either need a new disc ir calipers at this point. I might have to take it to a shop but I live in a small farm town and they charge $150 minimum service fee and can't look at it until May. I just sent heybike an email tonight. I even tried backing out the set screw near the pads. the disc has to be bent but it's hard to tell.

I am assuming where you said 51% you meant to say 51 V. When you buy a bike, whatever the rated battery voltage is the nominal voltage. When you charge it all the way to 100% the actual voltage of the battery will be more than the nominal voltage. And as the battery begins to die, it drops below the nominal voltage. On a 48 V system a full charge will be 52 V, and when the battery is completely dead, it will read about 43 V. Hope this helps!
@@TailHappyTV thank you, I haven't got my bike yet, it might be here in a couple of weeks. I'm anxious to learn as much about ebikes as possible to get the most out of mine.
A question I have always had with e-bikes. Do you have to use pedal assist? I was wanting to start biking to work (6 miles one way) but would like to manually ride when possible. I want to be able to use the motor when I'm crunched for time, weather, etc. I have heard it's harder to pedal.
No....but do your "research" and make sure if you intend to do little or no pedaling, you get an e-bike with a higher capacity battery. Using the adjustable pedal assist levels can extend your range, sometimes to double, without working up a sweat. The Motor still kicks in but pedaling extends battery life with the rider doing some of the work. Pedal assist may also be necessary if you are climbing hilly roads. Your ride is relatively short but the basic rule is the cheaper the bike, the weaker the motor, the smaller the battery and the shorter the range.
To answer your question a bit better, yes you can pedal but especially with fat tire versions they are much heavier making it harder to pedal, so if you were to not want to use pedal assist as much probably go with normal sized tires for lighter weight.
Use the app to set a very low top speed for when it's locked up. Idiot thief can't change it if he tries. Be sure to buy a Kyroptonite New York lock for the insurance coverage up to $4k. Lock cost: $140, insurance included. What a kick to ride and it turns heads everywhere.
Stay away from Hey Bike! I understand a paid review or one done in exchange for a free bike is going to get what they expected. I bought a Hey Bike Brawn. It lasted about 9 months before the PAS and accelerator started glitching. I found that the only thing worse than the shoddy quality of this ebike is the customer service. I wish I had researched consumer submitted reviews before I bought my Hey Bike. There are way too many disgruntled consumer reviews with the only positive reviews coming from the “professional reviewers” like this one. 2:18
Congratulations. You got a free bike. But the bars are a little narrow and the controls are difinately not very well thought out. Especially that dropper ramming your left hand constantly. The throttle mount rams your right hand and you have to position your hands unevenly to work around all this (not to mention the shifter). The motorcycle style head tube is tuff but in my opinion a bit much considering it limits your turning radius. But to be fair I won't mention another products that would violate your agreement with HeyBike.👍
Yes, it will stop charging when it’s full and the light turns green on the charger. Generally, my rule of thumb is to be at home while charging them, and try to avoid charging them overnight just in case something super unusual happens. What I like to do is charge it up to about 80% or so and store there, and then when I know I’m bout to take it out for a ride through it on the charger for an hour or two to top it off.
My Heybike arrived damaged. They want to send me the parts, have me buy the tools and fix it myself. I looked up reviews and that's their policy. Good luck if it arrives broken, worst customer service ever.

@@TailHappyTV thank you, I haven't got my bike yet, it might be here in a couple of weeks. I'm anxious to learn as much about ebikes as possible to get the most out of mine.
I am 6'3". Is the handlebar adjustable?
Heybike handlebars are adjustable
To answer your question a bit better, yes you can pedal but especially with fat tire versions they are much heavier making it harder to pedal, so if you were to not want to use pedal assist as much probably go with normal sized tires for lighter weight.
what is the recommended height for this bike?
It’s listed on the website linked below video
I'm 6'9'' and its pretty dang comfy if the handle bars are too low you could get a handle bar riser as an easy fix.
Great, thorough review
How does it do in sand?
Pretty much as good as any other fat tire, Ebike, it can definitely do it
@TailHappyTV thinking to get these rather than dirtbike....cause u can ride these in alot more places
Please advise us all what your special "Discount Code" is for this HeyBike Brawn ?????
In description box below video
Is a shame that "HeyBike" has NO customers service, if you have an issue, there is no phone to call, you are on your own. Not good!
why stop at stop sign, that way auto folks can cuss me out all the time, thanks
Thanks to u i bought one mine came with light ...only thin not water proof
Sweeeet, they sent me the light in a separate box later. Happy riding!
Box looks beat up.
Will this bike stop charging when it’s full?? I’m afraid to let it catch on fire plus I don’t want to be a babysitter!!!😂😂😂😂 advice pls!!!!
Silly hum8
My Heybike arrived damaged. They want to send me the parts, have me buy the tools and fix it myself. I looked up reviews and that's their policy. Good luck if it arrives broken, worst customer service ever.
Good to know. I'm was looking up this bike today. I'm moving on.
@@spwan3 Good idea, other people who received no support from Heybike have left comments too. Having you fix it is their policy.
Are these sponsored videos?
they don't pay me anything, but they send me the e-bike to review, I just show the true performance of them in the video along with my opinions. this one is pretty decent, I have a round-up video in the works showing 6 bikes in one video and how they compare and what my favorite ones are
@@TailHappyTV Awesome, thanks for the info. I was asking because I’m considering getting this bike. Looks good to me!
It’s pretty legit, battery is relatively large, dual crown fork, dropper seatpost, ticks a lot of boxes
@@jasonvegan5761 I just bought one of these and it looks beefier in person! I was amazed how cool it looks in person and how fast this bike is. Be careful at those stop signs.
Dont buy it, the warranty is garbage, they will give you a run around
Great bike but the company sucks! I don't recommend buying this bike. You going to have a lot of issues and support is going to be nowhere to be found or give you some BS excuse. I'm really not happy with the hey bike company. It's a waste of time.
Do you not know what those 8 sided red road signs mean? Running stop signs doesnt make you look responsible.
Do you ever plan on growing up? Your parents subsidize this nonsense?
Haven’t thought about it, hope not
So nice of the lead singer from Tears for Fears to have a side hustle reviewing E bikes.
It’s hard to find time between shows
@@TailHappyTV review the Hovsco Hovbeta!
