! Paula i know right
U sing wonderful Hannah , like an Angel
Hannah Trigwell One of the best versions of this song, I ever listened. :) Best greetings from Germany.
what i love about this version is that she didn't just sing it .. she was so passionate she lived every word and every melody and it felt like it came from the heart ..Bravo 😊
I still come back here for this version as it is my favorite. And it always draws some tears.
I'm starting to not remember what its like to not cry myself to sleep everynight but listening to this as I lay here crying tonight makes it not hurt so bad.... thank you
Thank you Hannah for your beautiful version, RIP Leonard
NO ONE but Leonard Cohen sings this well.
Until now. You, Hannah, would make Leonard very proud.
This will always be my favorite cover of this song.
Beautiful voice.
Beautiful song.
Thankyou Leonard Cohen.
God bless you.
57unicorn may he rest in peace🍁🙏

I am a Buddhist but I love this song very much. And I love Christians. World peace, love you guys! 😊
There is an album with 58 covers of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and yours is better than most. Beautiful!
I watched many many versions of Leonard Cohans masterpiece but this one is the best I've ever listened. Her clean voice and her feeling is so true and seems to come from far inside
I can't tell you how much this moves me. Not the song, just your voice. That's the kind of thing that makes people feel love long after you stop singing. Very well done, never stop.
My grandma has died today, so I want to play this for her.
I miss you so much.
im so sorry!! I know this pain all too well
Sitting Shiva as we speak
Astrid Purple. I m with you with all compassion Francois from Paris
Did it great justice with a wonderful voice. This is one of my favourite songs ever.
Absolutely the best rendition of this song...Ever.
Great version of a great song...great guitar playing and such emotion in the vocals
The guitar's rhythm and quiet volume blends gracefully with Hannah's patient pace. And then there's the soul in that voice. Gives me a mysterious sense of healing. Right now the country is having existential angst over mass murder shootings. Troubling times, making a sort of psychic smoke in the air. Thank you for this breath of fresh air.
Music unites all religions. I'm a Muslim and this is my favorite song.
Same
Eshtghfar allah I like this song to bt it's haram 4 us as a muslim coz it's praise jesus as a GOD nt as a prophet.
Deno mhmed Apparently this song isn't actually about Jesus or religion.
Dude ana Muslim too, but hell i adore this one, it brings back the memories
There is a deep wisdom in your words. Thanks for share with us.
Well, I heard there was a secret chord
That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this:
The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...
Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...
Baby, I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor (you know)
I used to live alone before I knew ya
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...
There was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me, do ya?
But remember when I moved in you
And the holy dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah...
Maybe there's a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew ya
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah...
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah...
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Kaylee Crosby Thanks👌
Your version is also NOT BAD..BUT maybe you should NOT shoot all your exes, dear Kaylee. ha ha ;-)
Kaylee Crosby b
nice
Why does everyone think they have to post the lyrics?
This video and song reminds me to stay strong in faith. You are a true woman and it shows every time you speak. God Bless Hannah, you are an inspiration.
After 8 years still awesome! ❤️
my favourite interpretation of this song. A lot of sentiment without shrillness.
Excellent voice, control, passion, commitment, emotion, ...
And so well balanced with the guitarist's splendid performance.
Can't stop listening to it.
Singers and guitarists, learn from her and from him ... do it!
How am I just hearing of you now? Love this song and your version is amazing. Your voice is out of this world. Best of luck to you!

Goosebumps, dude. This is incredible. Made my night.
Omg just when you think that there will never be a better version of this song something like this happens. The innocence you bring to this song is almost childlike. Bravo.
Incrível!!!!!!!!! Simplesmente perfeita! Dom maravilhoso, voz incrível!!!!
??? whats with her voice? she sounds great but its not the big deal lool
Beautiful voice, the guitar accompaniment was great too
Thank you for singing this in the sad and somber mood that the song represents. Attraction, domestication, the breakdown, and the hurt of relationships.
That perfect voice!!!
Thank you Hannah for this emotional version. Means a lot to me (I have my reasons)
Das ist so wunderbar vorgetragen. Was für eine Stimme hat sie? Mir fehlen die Worte .

Hannah, Jeff, this is the song played on the funeral for my dad... for some reason it was my innermost wish to be played. He, my dad, was the absolutely most unbelievable, life-mastering, most impressive and hearted man in any way I ever was allowed to meet. I am proud being here as his son, as a part of him, as he is part of me every day - and your version of this song is telling all this so exactly, so perfectly. Thank you!
absolutely beautiful!
Amazing!
Música linda, interpretação divina.

Beautiful 💖 🌷
This young girl is very talented. She does a commendable Jeff Buckley on this Leonard song. Well done.
This reminds me of the Shrek movies
@@kobates it was in the shrek movies which is probably why it reminds them of shrek
que mujer tan hermosa, una voz maravillosa
That's absolutely majestic and makes me cry. Bravo, Hannah! That's for me a moment when music is not just "a music", when it's really becoming an only ground which you stand upon.
3:12 Oh my god that was something else, amazing..
Lol I don't understand why people think there is a BIG difference between Leonard Cohen's version and Jeff Buckley's Cover of this song... the only difference is Speed... nothing else Jeff Buckleys is Slower... but I do love the Slower one it fits way more... I don't like when people speed through singing songs as beautiful as this
first of all Cohen is monotone. Secondly buckleys version is just him and his electric guitar. After he died it was like a living epitaph of himself. He was a very talented man who died too young and unexpectedly.
+robz place
Monotone? That's impossible. They're singing the same notes just at a different pitch.
no theres different verses
The biggest difference is that Cohen, who originally wrote the song, wrote almost 80 verses for it. When he performed it, he could do different verses of it. If you look at others performances of it, some performers will perform certain verses, and others choose other verses. Buckley's version became the standard, and so most vocalists sing his verse progression now. But still, the original had many verses. Cohen had a more even, passive sound while Buckley's was more energetic and emotional. I agree with you that slower is better :)
Beautiful version. One of the most awesome songs in the world!!! From Miami
RIP Leonard :(
Chills : first 23 seconds in.
Deine Stimme hat unglaublich viel Gefühl!
Du machst das, weil es dir spass macht... man sieht es dir förmlich an 🤗❤ fast göttlich!
Здорово, очень красиво!!
why name Jeff Buckley, with all respect he just covered it like Hannah does here. The one and onley Leonard Cohen did the original. RIP Leonard
Gijs ziezi Yes. Amazing song. RIP Leonard
Before Jeff Buckley did a cover of it, the song sounded completely different. If it weren't for his interpretation, we wouldn't have the version of the song we have today (the version this cover uses).
Jeff Buckley's is honestly better than Leonard Cohen's
Yeah, I think I would agree. Cohen will always be the genius behind the song, though.
Probably because the guitar is from Buckley's version.
Hannah... You have the most beautiful voice. I love watching you sing. You sing from your heart!
Thank you for sharing.

So wonderful ... happy Eastern Mrs Hanna Trigwell 🐣🐣🐣🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
For those who think this song is about religion, um, read the lyrics (if you need a translation, you should check it out). It's about a violent sexual relationship ("love" in the most physical sense) gone terribly wrong. (The speaker--a musician--has hooked up with someone who never had anything in common with him--DUH. "you don't care for music do ya?" What did he expect?) The chorus--hallelujah-- is an example of verbal irony. It is simultaneously a celebration and a scream of pain. The first stanza uses a brutal lust story from the Bible as an example and, in case you missed it, draws attention to the mathematical underpinnings of its own haunting melody. This is a man's view of disappointment in love. Women are also hurt and disappointed, but their examples would be different.
***** you don't really understand metaphors, do you?
***** Poets speak in metaphors. Biblical stories are powerful cultural touchstones. A poet like Leonard Cohen had to get the truth using shorthand because he's not writing a novel--aw to hell with it, I give up.
bluerabbit47 Actually, you're partially right and partially wrong. The song's overtones are indeed religious. However, it's not religion dealing with God, it's the religion of mowing lawns. Listen to the lyrics: "there was a secret cord" relates the ending of gasoline powered mowers and moving towards electrical mowers. "You saw her bathing on the roof. Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you.She tied you to a kitchen chair" discusses the difficulty of falling in love with a client. You cut her lawn, but you end up doing it for free now. "I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you. And even though it all went wrong..." is about the difficulty of changing blades on a mower in the middle of a large lawn and how it seems to never end. It's all pretty obvious once you read the lyrics.
Carl Saberhagen If you had any idea how loud I was laughing right now...
Carl Saberhagen lmao! Hysterical!! XD
Hannah a beautiful woman that can sing.
If I could I would give this masterpiece thousands of likes. I literally got chills by hearing and watching this holly thing. Wow.. Speechless..
She has the same hairstyle as me! :D

A young girl singing one of the "hall of fame" songs... I'm honest, I didn't expect too much.
And I am absolutely impressed! I believe every word and it feels so deep. My deepest respect.
algum br?
Bia Nascimento aqui kkkkkkkk
Bia Nascimento euuuuuuuu
todos!!
I'm having a hard time identifying exactly what's wrong with this. Sure it's good, but nowhere near as good as the original cover by Jeff. It just misses that subliminal angst/irony, maybe because of the butchered articulation of the lyrics in some parts or the too low voicing in the refrain. Anyone else having the same issue?
+Dennis Persson butchered is one way to put it lol
+Dennis Persson The original wasn't for Jeff btw ..
Ahmad Turki
-_- Re-read my comment. I specifically said ''The original *cover* by Jeff''
Dude, I troll more than anyone of attempted covers of Buckley's rendition... But this just isn't one to troll, brother. Go look at MANY more of these like I have. She's almost got the feels, she just doesn't quite lose herself like Buckley did. But honestly, not even Cohen himself could lose himself like Buckley did in this song. And he even removed and added his own verses to make it his own, making Buckley's "arrangement" his own in theory. It's what we Musicians call an, "Original Cover." So you have to understand, no one's EVER going to be able to do what Buckley did with this song. But she's DAMN close. She's just not willing to trade technique for emotion it seems. Not he fault though, she might not be a Songwriter herself
+Dennis Persson Same here, I don't feel comfortable with this version. It's the sound of the guitar, and the voice too. The song is most difficult, I wonder why everybody tries to cover this amazing song, hardly any cover version is worth listening to
farout this girl has such an amazing voice for this song, perfect for this song!
Why did she put Jeff Buckley. Cohen wrote the music and lyrics. Buckley didn't do shit!
It's in the version of Jeff.
Leonard Cohen wrote it, and then Jeff Buckley made the first cover.
***** Strictly speaking it should be Cohen / Cale; Cale's version uses a different set of lyrics -- written, but never recorded, by Cohen. That's the version that Buckley, and from there most everyone else, covers these days.
well the LC version is verry diffrent for the one of JB^^ JB gave the way to sing it i guess.
it doesnt matter what cover she is doing she shouldnt put jeff buckleys name as the creater of the song as she did.
