For someone with your profile pic, it should be obvious what Colby's doing. Colby's game is built on cardio. He needs Leon emotionally stressed and agitated because that drains his energy, playing into Colby's favor. It's risky, of course, but with high risk comes high reward.
Leon needs to punish his body with liver kicks and body punches and always get right back up after being taken down. Knock outs are cool but absolute domination through pure skills and making a person quit is more impressive.
I agree with the Conor Aldo comparison to an extent, problem is Colby doesn't have KO power. I agree with the Conor Aldo comparison to an extent, problem is Colby doesn't have KO power. He's playing a dangerous game of using psychological warfare because it can easily backfire, either he has broken Leon at the subconscious level in which he will doubt himself or fight with emotion. The flip side is he is determined and focused and sticks to his game plan which given the second Usman fight it means Colby will struggle with the taller, stronger and more accurate fighter.

You gotta love how Colby gets people to care about a fight like this. You either want him to win or you want him to lose. There is no one who says I’m indifferent to what happens. Even Usman says you need guys like Colby to help build up fights.
Ultimately it’s a partnership and Leon finally showed some type of emotion besides the usual mundane things he says. This gets the fans invested and I’m perfectly okay with what was said to sell a fight.
I know Colby is putting up a front for entertainment purposes. I do admit that seeing Leon get emotional was intriguing but damn that was a rough line to say even if he’s just doing it for clicks. Its crazy how far trash talking has come 😂
