An important message and very well done! Kudos to all involved in the making of this film.
I have been through this , I was only 7 …. Abused by a workman ….. My family never found out …. I kept it a secret from them , till their death …
I asked for help when I was a university student , unable to relate to people … unable to form ANY kind of a relationship …..
Now all is well and I have a chance to support others ….. it is redeeming …..
How I confronted the guy is a long story …. But that was my complete redemption ……

Truthful and harsh reality, my "mother" threw me out of the house when she found her boyfriend rapping me! I was stealing her boyfriend! I was rapped at the age of ten years old! I was able to get help from my grandmother and never looked back, "mother" called me about thirty-five years later as she had no place to go. I hung up on her in 1987. I still have issues, but doing better one day at a time.

This is a learned behavior.. I will bet a million$ that Jamie's grand father did the same to Jamie's father.. and so on.
it is a multi-generational thing.. It leaves scars on everyone it touches.
My uncle molessted my cousin, my cousin molested me.. Children have to tell their story. If they don't have the words to articulate what happened, to make it stop, they tell their story by repeating it with others.. (acting out what happened).. The moment words are used to tell someone what happened, the sooner the multi-generational thing stops..

if both are minors, then experimenting is a natural part of childhood.
@@rdkuless Well it wasn't exactly consensual. What I learned later was a priest molested my friend. And he was just showing me what he had learned. Of course, I was not aware of this fact until years later.
The abuser is always somebody closer to the family.

There's nothing wrong with two people having consensual sex together. But if one of those people is a child, that's child abuse. There are enough willing adults who are willing partners in this activity. There is no need to include a child in this or any other sexual activity. How this keeps happening is beyond me. I was abused by a close friend who also was a child, who convinced me that we were practicing for the real thing. since then I have had trouble forming relationships with women and I have never been married and am now 68 years old. And that abuse has ruined my life. I now have gay tendencies and thank God I did not repeat this and molest someone else like so many other people have done. People lack willpower.

The actress playing Mrs. Brown.....HER SHOES ARE WAY TOO LOUD, and it kind of ruins every scene she is in. The director should have caught that. Now I'm going to go and find the movie and watch it and plug my ears whenever she is walking.
