I'm so glad it is helpful! I'm still pretty new to youtube and making instructional videos, so I appreciate the feedback, and knowing that I'm doing something right!
that really cool part with the little loop part and then the time saving string pull threw I do use the serving jig and I made an ajustable string jig with a built in tape measure my prods are 28 but I'm going 29 1/2
Thank you so much for sharing those informations! I startet building english warbows a couple of years ago - so I am familiar with most of the process and only needed some typical measurements for building my first Armbrust... I ended up watching the whole video anyways 🙂 So thx again - please keep up your great work! Greets from blackforest Germany - take care and stay safe all.
I’m so glad it was helpful! Regarding typical measurements, check out books by Jens Sensfelder, Sven Luken, and Holger Richter; they are packed with detailed measurements (and published in German!)
I decided to try out braided dyneema string. To my surprise, it worked perfectly fine. It's a bit tricky to get the length correct, it's only off by a little bit here and there, but it works. I'm using a 3mm string on my 80lb pistol crossbow for some reference.
What is your primary source for your string? I search on Amazon, but not sure if I am finding right stuff. Thanks for the DETAILED video!!!! Looking forward to trying this out!!!!
Can you please tell me the music for who cuz I think its familiar. By the way, I like your channel. I'm obsessed with medieval things, especially weapons and seige weapons. Keep it up
That modern interpretation of the reïnforced loop is very interesting. Is there any sources, book or articles that descripbe that 'new' knotting technique for reinforced strings?
Thank you very much very informative, you are a great teacher I was able to make myself a new bow string
I’m so glad my video helped!
Extremely helpful video. Much better in explaining the process than other videos. Thanks very much.

Thanks! The music is “time is running out” by Muse (it’s a cover by me actually)

Nice video. What are the specs/dimensions of the dyneema yarn and how do you calculate the number of strands needed,
On serving can I all the way in one same direction ??
I'm not sure I totally understand your question, but I think so?
How many strand of the string ?? Thks sir
I think this one was 30 loops? So 60 strands in the centre, and 30 on the end loops.
