He’s an educated person from northern Mexico. Many of them speak perfect English. It’s a big world out there. Bigger and more complex than what CNN and Fox News spoon feeds us.
54:00 "If you were the king of the world, what could be done...." Compare this guy's answer, as someone who knows what he is talking about : "I don't know"...... with pretty much every politician, who seems to know exactly what can be done and how to do it, in spite of having no hands on experience. It's a striking example of how politicians sell you impossible dreams.
@@melojordans23 Why? Got any argument, or is "hurr durr" all you have? It will fix the billions of dollars in proceeds going to the cartels. Heroin/opiod abuse is here, never going anywhere. We can fight it, let people die of fent od's (very few actually WANT fent-dope; its just not as euphoric as diacetyl) keep poor areas poor, keep growing the prison population with non-violent offenders... Or we could take a sensible medical approach to the problem. Legalization does not mean sold to anyone at the 7-11; we already have the infrastructure, that being clinics and pharmacies. Some European states have made it a federal program that provides it to registered users. There are other strategies involving turning Big Pharma loose on making pure diacetylmorphine and going to a doctor to get registered as a user and get a script, with quantities dolled out weekly to curb the flow of the drug into a black market scenario (though if any addict can register, the need for said market is not really there, so its redundant) Hell, if we just let addicts register for Drug of Choice maintenance, we wouldn't even need to bring heroin into the pharmacopeia (though there's no reason not to) as hydromorphone (Dilaudid)/oxymorphone(Opana) are better than heroin anyway, at least in my experience. Thus, the proceeds stay within the American economy, above board, taxes and all. That is BILLIONS annually from opiods alone that is being spent here, but is not captured by our economy. This is a major problem. As someone that has lived over a decade of opiod addiction and has been both a pain patient receiving monthly scripts of Dilaudid, as well as having lived without and having to score dope on the black market, there is functionally no difference in the drug usage/efficacy towards reaching one's goal, be it a high, pain management, or both. However, the quality of life when having to use a black market for sourcing is where shit gets dark really quickly. When I lost my script and had to turn to heroin, it sucked. Within 9mo I lost my job, gf, everything. Went from spending $120/mo for my Dilaudid scripts that took 15min every 30 days, to about $3000 a month, and that was getting a discount buying 5g at a time. Not to mention the time wasted trying to find it, set a meeting, etc. Its a full-time job in its own right. This without any change in dosage/my usage, as I had been stable for years on the very similar rx drugs, so its not like heroin ruined my motivation or some shit. With a legal script for Dilaudid I was thriving in life for 7 years. Was a year away from having a dual doctorate in medicine and pharmacology, but it was lost when I had to go to heroin. Not like the chronic pain one has goes away when the doc gets cold feet and pulls your script... Its not the dope that causes the majority of the problems... Like this dude said in the podcast, its everything that surrounds it: gangs, money, drug war, black-market ills (ie not knowing what one is getting and its purity) these are what ruins lives, and while there are problems with regulated usage, it is far easier to contain. Shit is never going away. Been with humans for thousands of years, will be with us to the end whether we take a sensible approach or fight it like petulant children. Personally, I'd rather see fewer people dying, fewer communities ruined, and not a single penny given to the violent gangs getting rich from our vices. If we have to live with it, we need to come to terms with its presence and cope responsibly, not sweep it under the rug and let the corner boy down the street control such a powerful commodity. So the next time you comment in such a reductionist manner (hurr durr...) think about ALL the variables to the equation; its not a simple problem.
@@mfallen4277 THANK YOU. imo it's morally and ethically dishonest to argue for decriminalizing weed and psychs and just stop there. it's a dead giveaway - you don't actually give a shit about the drug war and the untold hell it has wreaked on millions of lives, the untold millions of lives it's claimed...you just want the drugs YOU like to be legal. "Opiates ruin lives"? the only reason they ruin lives is when people can't get them legally and have to turn to the black market. as soon as you actually take a moment's glance at the true scope and fallout of the war on drugs, it becomes eminently clear that letting people purchase and ingest whatever substances they want would have an immeasurably positive effect on the future trajectory of the entire world.

greciasoleble hurr durr legalize drugs
Like legalizing fucking heroin will fix things.
@@mfallen4277 The cartel would just go to another business they can't be stop
