- Colorado Mushroom Hunting: The King Bolete! {Harvest Clean Cook}
Went up to the mountains of southern Colorado with my friend Cooper and harvested some king bolete mushrooms (porcini). And cooked a porcini omelette.
Elevation (9500-1100ft)

You guys did awesome up there this year - more poppers coming up until September I bet too!
Thanks brother, if you get a wild hair to come back down to go look let me know..
I lived in Longmont and we have a cabin at the American Legion Campground near Beaver lake...we would go up Coney Flats and find all kinds of mushrooms. Some caps were as big as my head on the King Boletes...the Asians are always up there hunting and will sometimes trade the Boletes for oysters....never ever found any Morels tho...but we love foraging...have fun and enjoy the hunt❤
Yum. I gotta find some.
Good stuff man!
The wild strawberries 😍😍😍

Thanks for the video! Just getting started foraging here in Colorado and it's good to know despite the dryness you can still get a good bounty!
Thank you. Yes, it’s a little harder to find mushrooms in Colorado because of the climate, but it’s that much more rewarding and fun when you put in the effort and find them! Thanks for watching and happy hunting this season.
we need more vids on how to harvest mushrooms, cuz ppl destroy the crops around here
Agree. Thanks for stopping by!
I'm visiting Colorado for a few days in early October, do you have recommendations for any good mushroom spots? 😅
Mushroom season here in Colorado is about done.. I don’t think there will be any to find by then. It’ll be to cold.
@@OutdoorsInspired dang it! That's a shame. Here in Florida it's almost always mushroom season lol. Subscribed!
@@astridmanzo hey thanks, I appreciate that! Hope you have fun in Colorado!
I believe that mushroom was a false chanterelle
Where are they
Colorado!
What part of Colorado are y’all in?
Southern Colorado
@@OutdoorsInspired we’re in Cortez/Durango area, is this near here? We’re going out this weekend.
@@katherinefernette3830 we were in the Wet mountains range
Habichtspilze sind Gewürzpilze!! Wenn sie ganz jung sind kann man Suppe kochen mit Milch,
that omelette was genuinely so gross. wrong kind of moist - that’s uncooked egg.
should’ve flipped before putting on the cheese so it cooked evenly and thoroughly, not that fragile soggy mess
