    Thanks for the video. I have a question regarding Node2. why don't you consider anty fitting in node2? I think there is a fitting between Node 2 and Node A that needs to be added as a fitting in Node 2 calculations. Please correct me if I am wrong.

      I have the exact same question!

    • @FTIQ
      @FTIQ Год назад

      Not sure if this has been answered. In NFPA 13 standards, you only have to cover 1500 sq feet, so you will not need to cover on the other end of that main due to it falls out of the remote area. If you lay out the remote area, and the end of the line of the area falls more than half way into another sprinkler head, you have to pick up the next sprinkler head.

    • @nayeemsaleem7466

      Principle of the remote area is if u supply the required flow and pressure to the sprinklers in remote area its logic that all other sprinklers in the pipe network will attain more pressure compare to them.

    Thank you for the video, it is really interesting but I have some questions
    1. How many sprinkler you assume to operate because I saw in the calculation sheep you calculate only 2 sprinklers then you continued to calculate to CM...?
    2. To me, I choose 12 sprinklers for operating so do I need to calculate for all 12 sprinklers?

      Not sure if this is answered however K-factor is based on the fire sprinkler listing. To get that you need to look at the spec sheet of the sprinkler head you are using.

    isn't the equalent length of tee from node b to node c is 12 ft ? as it is 2 1/2 inch tee.

    • @marcbryanvargas4673
      @marcbryanvargas4673  3 года назад +1

      Hi Suhail! In the sample calculation, the fitting used is a 2-in fitting; hence, the 10ft equivalent length. Regardless of whatever fitting you use, when you do your design calculation, just make sure that you use its equivalent length as per NFPA13, Table 14.4.3.1.1. Thanks for watching, and asking! hehe keep them coming! ;)

    • @marcbryanvargas4673
      @marcbryanvargas4673  2 года назад

      Glad that you enjoyed it! The parameters are in the interest of the designer. And several factors could determine them... But again, if you are designing these systems, you'll definitely know what the parameters are...

  • @ferdianrudy5075
    @ferdianrudy5075 2 года назад

    Hi Sir, thanks for the Video. I have a question, hope you can share your opinion. The sprinkler hydraulic calculation is calculated at the most remote area of the building from the Fire Pump. If at the furthest area, i have -example-10 branch (each branch = 10 Sprinkler) and refer to rules of Ordinary Hazard 2, 1500 ft2 @ 0.2 gpm/ft2, i only get 2 branches covered at 1500 ft2. So is it correct, the fire pump sizing will only depend on these 2 branches and its header and ignoring the other branches or the other room which are near to Fire Pump.
    Thankss

    • @nayeemsaleem7466
      @nayeemsaleem7466 Год назад

      The concept is right as u said . But I say u must follow the NFPA 13 guide lines how to consider the remote area.as I remember there is a format to select the design area.

    HOW did u decide the diameter of the pipes. i mean you have done hydraulic calculation assuming the diameters as 25 mm, 32 mm and so on but how did we arrive at the sizes?

    • @marcbryanvargas4673
      @marcbryanvargas4673  3 года назад +1

      The diameters of the pipe in this problem are given parameters. Ideally, pipe sizes should be determined after calculating the flow rate...

    • @nayeemsaleem7466
      @nayeemsaleem7466 Год назад

      U need to refer nfpa 13 pipe sizes table for light,ordinary and extra hazard table. Use these pipe data and input them in elite software and run it. If there is more friction losses the software will intimate you which pipe needs to be resized to attain the minimum design parameter set by NFPA13
