Wawel - Krakow, Poland

In November 2023 we spent three weeks in Krakow, Poland. This was our first time in Poland and we really enjoyed our time in Krakow. Wawel holds historic significance for Poland, and we knew we couldn’t miss it. The hill consists of the Cathedral complex, the Palace complex, and other notable building.
We booked a tour of the cathedral that included the cathedral, bell tower and cathedral museum. The bell tower houses the Sigismund bell. Weighing in at 28,000 pounds it requires 12 bell ringers to swing it. Therefore, the Sigismund bell is only rung on special occasions.
In addition to the Cathedral tour, we also booked the Image of the Golden Age and Crown Treasury tours at the Palace Complex. These were offered free of charge when we visited in November, so we took full advantage of the opportunity.
