I'm looking forward to Translation State by Ann Leckie. I've loved the Imperial Radch series and this is set in the same universe, which has me so excited :)
So many exciting new books indeed. Besides the one you mentioned some of my most anticipated are Fonda Lee's "Untethered Sky", M. L. Wang's "Blood Over Bright Haven", Suyi Davies Okungbowa's "Warior of the Wind", Rebecca Roanhorse's "The Mirrored Heavens" and a short story called "The Lies of Ajungo" by Moses Ose Utomi.
I forgot about Untethered Sky! 😩 I can’t wait for that one either. Your other anticipated reads all sound great! I’ll check out the synopsis for Warrior of the Wind
@@ToriMorrow "Warior of the Wind"is going to be the second volume in "The Nameless Republic". I have read "Son of the Storm" this year and I loved how compelling the characters were.
I just started Justice of Kings today and I'm already half way through... I canNOT put it down, it's SO good! I can't believe more people aren't talking about it 🤯 I'm picking Tyranny of Faith up ASAP.
Red Rising is my favorite series, I've already pre-ordered the special edition of light bringer on barnes and noble! I love finding other people that love it too 😄
First time I have watched a video of yours. Instant subscribe. Kinda just liked everything you brought to the "talk about books" game. I look forward to
"and if you still don't like it after Golden Son...well...we might have some problems" 😂. So true, so true. 😆 Luckily the two people I've recommended the series to so far have come away from it just as stunned and in awe as I'd expect them to!
There are so many new releases that I am excited for: the Adventures of Amina al Sirafi (Shannon Chakraborty), Paradise-1 (David Wellington, who creeped me out with his Sci-fi horror "The last astronaut"), the blighted stars (Megan E OKeefe), and the finale of the drowned empire.
Ohh I’ll have to add Paradise-1 to my tbr for next year. I recently read The Last Astronatuaut and really enjoyed it! Adventures of Amina al Sirafi sounds great! I’ll be on the lookout for that one too 😃
I just started looking into books releasing next year too! Not as sure about novels, but Malka Older has a novella I'm interested in trying (The Mimicking of Known Successes), and Nisi Shawl is coming out with another anthology, New Suns 2 (I'd really enjoyed the first one).
I hope those are both good reads for you next year! I’ve been really interested in Nisi Shawl’s work for a while. Might start with Everfair some time in the new year 😀
I loved Annalise Newitz's nonfiction book Four Lost Cities! The writing was really accessible and they had a refreshing viewpoint to contrast with traditional (ie old white men) anthropologists. The Terraformers sounds like it's going to be similarly refreshing! Adding it to my tbr 😊
Super excited for Lone Woman too! Also heads up that Lightbringer is not the end of a trilogy, he ended up needing two books but I am still super excited for it!
I'd heard about Red Rising from some other folks so I picked it up today from my local bookstore and was gonna let it sit on the shelf for a bit while I work on some other series but I think this video was my sign that it needs to be jumped to the front of the line!
I think you should read The Terraformers first and if you like it, then read Autonomous, because that is a book i dnf, but maybe you enjoy it! I just want to read Justice of kings more and more😆. It's going to get translated to Spanish soon, so I'll get it!
Thanks for that suggestion! I think I will give The Terraformers a read first, especially since the release is closer than I thought 😂 I’m so excited for you to experience JoK! I really hope you enjoy it
Wow, these all sound really exciting! You're not the first person to say I need to try Red Rising no matter what, so I might have to give it a go next year. 😄I'm also curious why it's such a thing right now to put rabbits on the covers of dark and creepy books. *shrugs*
Yes! Please pick up Red Rising next year 🙏🏽 I’d love to hear what you think of it. And that does seem to be a weird pattern with creepy/darker books. Poor rabbits 🥲

Ohh that sounds awesome! I still haven’t gotten into the Imperial Radch series yet but hopefully will soon
I'm always happy to see a book I won on Goodreads on an anticipated list. I won Terraformers 😍
Lone Women sounds intriguing. Never read him before but will definitely try that one. Thanks

WILD MASSIVE will be bonkers for sure and i'm excited to read it as well. His previous book Battle of the Linguist Mages was also absolute bonkers

I’m so happy you’re loving the Justice of Kings! You’re defintely going to want book 2 immediately 😅
@@ToriMorrow I loved The Justice of Kings! I can’t wait for book 2. (For those who like audio, it was really good too.)
So excited for these!

I'm still trying to catch up on my 2021-2 releases, haha, but you have definitely made me interested to read the Richard Swan series. Happy reading!
