Metrocenter was the place to be and be seen when I was a kid. Growing up in a small rural community 45 miles east of Jackson a trip to Metrocnter was like going on vacation.
Oh, geez! This is regurgitating a nightmare for me! Deja vu all over again!!! This is JUST LIKE shopping with my mother, aunt and grandmother! In fact, I think they argued in these very same aisles. Thanks, Richard for slamming me back into therapy again! I'm teasing. I'm just laughing so hard at the memory, and suddenly missing my sweet grandmother.
Im from Monroe, LA and I loved McRae's. Our's is a Belk now and that place sucks! I went in there once and said never again! They stopped selling much of the high end Men's clothes that McRae's had. McRae's was owned by Saks Fifth Avenue around this time. I also remember my parents buying lots of jeans for me and having them altered in store. I'm not sure if stores even do that anymore.
Reminds me of the good old days. Me and my college friends would go to the metro movie theather next to the metro when they would have one dollar movie day...It was closed long before I moved..

good god. The early 90's look like the 70's now.
My first job was a janitorial position at the Metro Center in 93. I only did it for six months, then I left for boot camp.
I was only a baby then... One wouldnt believe this is the same mall from the looks of it now..
Some of the good old days. It seems like a million years ago.
Somebody's 'remixed' my Metro videos and presently has more views than both of my vids do together. LOL!

I saw Lion King at the theatre at this mall
I've been trying to find at least one picture of the theater for years and a!l I can find is the roof. At least I have memories thankfully.
