    Some of your best surfing is on this board. The entry looked soft, but the g skate paddled well. And when you had a wall, it looked spicy and quick, under your feet. Love this, because it’s so informative and I’m gonna change my custom order, and go down to 5’7”, maybe reduce thickness by 1/16” too. Again, love the conditions you post, and what you’re wearing for it. Helps immensely, when I surf those NE conditions. Another great vlog!

      Thank you bro! That small kick in the nose does help to make the steeper drops easy! I surfed this afternoon total crap 1 ft with cross shore wind and it was still catching waves easy. I’m impressed. It’s definitely not meant for tiny waves that I usually surf on DaveySky Skiff. But once it has a 1ft punchy clean open face wave, it will go 🔥 preferably 2 ft and up😎

    You need to initiate your wrap coming out of a bottom turn, otherwise you’ll just bog down at the top over and over like you’re doing. Always go down first before starting a wrap, even if it’s not a full bottom turn, you’re set up for a wrap will work almost every time and you’ll accelerate instead of bite your rail and bog. It looks like you had a lot of sections you could’ve gone into a good bottom turn off the bottom but just took high pumps out onto the shoulder.

    Great vid, had a board back in early 90s HIC Surf Skate, board was Amazing in fun everyday conditions believe Lynn Shell shaped it . I took that board on every surf trip, for lay days. this CI G seems very similar except for pulled tail hips.

      @SkipperSurfReview  Год назад +3

      Hey Brian! There are quite a few.
      Here is a list:
      Small wave boards for tiny waves (0.5ft - 3 ft): 5'4" DaveySKY Skiff, 5'2" Hydrodynamica Mini Simmons
      Shortboards/hybrids that can work in small waves 3ft and up to overhead): 5'5" Simon Shapes Quad Fish, 5'8" CI G Skate, 5'9" LoveMachine WIll's Fish, 6'0" Album Twinsman Varial Foam (Round Pin), 6'1" CI Twin Pin.
      Mid lengths: 6'7" CI Mid Twin, 7'10" Ryan Lovelace ThickLizzy, 6'8" JS Big Baron, 6'8" Album Moonstone (swallow tail). I may add 6'7" CI TriPlaneHull soon!
      Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions!

    Hi spencer ! Always nice to watch your video !
    Is there a difference between this board and a twinsman ? Wich one is the most versatile for all conditions ?
    Thx from France !😉

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Год назад +1

      Hey Mathieu! I'm Skipper haha. Yes, there is definitely a difference. The twinsman has so many variations starting from the construction up to fin configuration. It's a twin fin. The G skate will be more versatile. I only surfed Album Twinsman in size 6'0" (varial foam) with the round pin tail and 6'0" PU foam with the swallow tail. I like the varial foam version more. Just in general, the Twinsman needs a better wave and size to show it's potential. Hope this helps!

    Cheers from Portugal
    Regards,
    Marco Lima

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  Год назад

      Hi Marco! Hands down, the G skate! The Seaside has some limitations like once the waves go slightly bigger it loses tractions plus it doesn't work great on chop. I would surf the Seaside in 2-4 ft waves clean offshore! The G skate has wider range of conditions!

    • @SkipperSurfReview
      @SkipperSurfReview  11 месяцев назад

      I dig Endorfins KS1 set. I would only surf a thruster when it’s good and perfect shape. For other conditions 2+1. You can find a set at drift fin co website (great quality and affordable prices ) and is my code skippersurf to get 20% off.
