With the Ampeg BA-210 It's worth being aware that although its output power is advertised as 450W, this isn't the case with the product on it's own. As delivered, the output through the two internal 10 inch speakers is 283 watts. To get the full 450 watts output you have to connect an additional 8 ohm extension cabinet which will cost a bit more.
@@brandonharris9160 the difference in both is how much distortion you like. so, how much distortion do you want? 1% is enough at rated RMS and 10+ at peak is too much. ampeg would be referencing load impedance, requiring the external cab to hit the 'rated' output.
Thanks man for running through the range of the Ampeg BA v2’s ... I think the BA-210v2 is on my list. That 210 and plugging my 115 into it, and I’m ready 😉👍 (not going to be dreaming about amps and cabs that cost more than that combo! haha)
Hi Dagan, First of all thanks for your informative video. Question though: I'm considering being the BA 115 primarily because of the scrambler circuit and the Aux level control. I will use that a lot for practice. Can you tell me how the 115 behaves at low(er) volumes and if on low volumes you still have all the features available?
good video! If I need more power for a gig I’m entertaining the idea of adding a fender rumble 115 v3 extension cab (600 watt 300 rms 8hm) to my ampeg ba 210 v2 ( 283 watt @ 4ohm, 450 @ 8) via the extension out jack. Other than offending other bass players do you think this is an advisable pairing spec wise? My thought process is to add a 15 for more low end thump where I already have 2 10’s handling the punchy sound. I’d love to get some feed back! Thanks
@@powerthrashingdeath Holy crap man (?) you want me to interrogate my 4 year old. Should I brow beat him for you? Would a video suffice if I get his confession why he made such a statement. Know this is late but maybe this will help others out. Yes it is. The rehearsal studio I go to just got the Ampeg BassAmp Series BA-210 450W 1 month ago. I use it with my Boss Bass Overdrive (ODB-3) pedal and the thing sounds MASSIVE. Even though it's all the way at the back of the room behind the drummer I still have to turn it down because it's louder than the drummer and both guitarist at times. Blends well with high tempo blasts beats and can take a beating too. Even better that it has send & return inputs which works well for double gating to get a very clean sound without killing the tone. Highly recommend as I don't think anything exist that's better for the price.
“The Scrambler circuit, was taken from the SVT” What?!.... As far as I know, the original Scrambler was crated in 1969 and that was/is a guitar fuzz circuit.
Thank you for going through all of the different models. Sounds like you have a lot of fun doing these videos and that's really cool. The Built in overdrive doesn't sound bad at all! Pleasantly surprised b/c I just got the BA115v2 delivered today. Haven't had a chance to play it yet because I'm still working. But that's besides the point. My only "gripe" is the fact that you're playing w/a pick. I suppose that that's a requirement when playing a Nikki "Pixx" Thunderbird, lol.
Don't EVER play a bass with a pick - you'll never, ever even approach mediocrity, let alone mastery if you do. Credentials? Fair question. I started playing bass in late 1959 at age 12 - played professionally (not a lot of hard rock) for nearly 60 years before semi-retirement (studio work only these days !!)
I think that Paul McCartney, Chris Squire, Lemmy, Carole Kaye, Noel Redding, and Bruce Foxton would be considered above mediocre when it comes to bass playing, and they seem to get by just fine with a pick.
@@F1emingo: So......you admire that group you mentioned - that's fine, but I don't particularly consider any of them to be anymore than mediocre. For instance, Noel Redding was awful, and McCartney is, without a doubt, one of the most overrated bass players to ever pick up the instrument - in my opinion,of course !!

Just got mine 210 last week and im not disappointed it’s the perfect combo
I like the name, logo and reputation of Ampeg. I’m looking for a 2x12 cab that will serve as a keyboard cab as well...
Thanks to this video, I went and bought a BA210 V2
Sounds great. Makes me want to dig out that old bass and lay down some grooves.
It would be nice if the DI feature was on all these models.

The BA 115 is epic....and loud :)

wait hold on, is that hinting at knight's of cydonia at 13:42 ?
Saw a T-Bird in the thumbnail and clicked, instant regret, now I need to buy a new amp and another T-Bird...

Hello, what is the best choice between the Ampeg ba110-v2, the orange bxt50 and the fender rumble40 for a small bass amplifier with good sound ?
Can we get a video on the ampeg micro CL stack?!

Is it possible to get a growly metal tone with the ba210?

I'm probably gonna get a 112, but I'm hoping maybe I can get the 115 because if I did I probably wouldn't feel the need for a bigger one for a while.
Check out FB marketplace, craigslist, or Reverb for used models first. I picked up the 450w 2x10 for $300.
