- Today we take a Valencia day trip to Cullera Spain, a beautiful coastal city, with beautiful Spanish beaches, just 30 minutes south of Valencia by train. Cullera has many sites to offer and more than we could see in just a few hours.
Cullera's prime attraction is a refurbished 10th century castle sitting at the very peak of the city's mountain...which we climb. It boasts beautiful, commanding views of the sea and city below and as far as the eye can see.
The beaches in Cullera are lined with cute seafront restaurants serving the freshest seafood caught that day. With a glass of white wine, and a fresh made Paella, it's hard to not say wow!
So join us as we explore a Valencia day trip to Cullera!

A Couple of Nomads?
Who are we?
Well, we are a couple from worlds apart that has chosen Valencia, Spain to be our home base. Vicky is born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, now an American citizen. Josh is an American, well, born and raised in small town, Ohio.
We left our jobs, family and friends and moved to Valencia, Spain in the middle of the pandemic. We decided to that we should also start a RUclips channel to show the world that, you can do anything (even if you are getting grey hair), if you think you can! If you want to see how a couple of expats can live the Mediterranean dream, and you want to join us on our journey...then subscribe, we would love to have you as part of our extended family!
Cheers!
Vicky & Josh

Wow. Good thing you found the regular path to the castle. The off the path trail was too twisted ankle friendly. May God bless you and protect you on your adventures. Peace out.
You are right! Definitely use the paved path! lol Thank you for watching our video! 😊🤞🏼
@@ACoupleofNomads YW. I just bought you all a couple of beers. Cheers!
@@vitomorolla5932 Wow thank you so much! 😊🙏🏼
That was one impressive and risky climb. It is a guaranteed way to burn those paella calories. Another great video, as always.
It definitely was! Glad we made it 🤣 Thank you for watching!
Hey guys, that's quite the paella there, would love a bite of that. Really enjoyed the views from the castle. Seems like a great day trip from Valencia. Enjoy!
Hey! It was delicious paella 🥘 and spectacular views, wonderful day trip all together! Thanks for watching!
Love how you guys keep it real. Keep the videos coming! You both look like your loving life.
Thank you for your kind words.😊
Minute 4:23 This is what is life about : sharing precious moments with your other half. 💯🏖️
It truly is. 🥰 Precious moments. Thank you for watching.
Can’t wait to explore more end of April then again July
Yes! Hope you have a great time! 😊
What a beautiful day, and walking on the beach in the middle of winter is wonderful, Cullera and Gandia will be my next destination,,, by the way, have you saved me some paella!!?? 👍👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍😍😍
It was a wonderful day and food was delicious too! 😋 Thank you for watching!
Wait....there's a paved trail? 🤣🤣 Fantastic!!
Haha I know right?? We were wondering the entire time! lol 🤣🤣
Not just one but two, one by foot and another for cars
The path was my favorite part. few years back 2 friends wanted to hike Runyon Park (LA) and it almost turned in to an emergency rescue. I told them this was not a trail, but a path from runoff. They kept saying we're almost there. I tried numerous times to turn back. We get 3/4 way and they want to turn back. It wasn't possible. We made it, without news chopper putting us on the evening news! All because, although I had permission to park in the driveway 2 houses away from park entrance, they drove and refused to use it!
@@asunsol LOL how did we miss that 🤣
@@kennielsen3896 Oh totally understand about the Runyon Canyon. That place can be deceiving. Glad you guys didn't have to call the emergency rescue!

Thank you for your support and watching our videos! 😊🙏🏼
If you're not castled-out, you might consider doing a vlog of Xátiva. Beautiful place!
Thanks Brady! It’s on our list😉 Thanks for watching!
There is a good castle in Xativa, also only one train stop away from Valencia, there is a hard way and easy way to get to it too, but I recommend you go the hard way as there are interesting things to see on the way up. Xativa is also the birthplace of the Borja's the notorious rulers of Milan, and a couple of the family became Pope's. The old town is interesting.
Yes, we’ve heard many good things about Xativa. Thank you for the information! That sounds very interesting.
Keep taking the path that is not paved. More fun (for us to watch). lol. How was that golden wine? lol again.
Yes! It’s more fun that way! The wine was haaarsh🤪. Haha, thanks for watching James!
You made me laugh when I saw you walking up that path but hey that’s part of the adventure! 😉 if you come back to Cullera go to a casa Salvador, it’s a bit pricey but I think it’s worth it not just for the food, but also for the location next to the Albufera which arrives up to Cullera..check it out..it’s in L’estany another area of Cullera..so you will need a taxi. You can also visit the Dragut cave by the lighthouse..Cullera is a seasonal town so no much happening in winter..although if you want to enjoy beautiful classical music for just 2 euros every Sunday at 11:30 there’s a concert till the end of February in the market auditorium where the fountain was…you can also visit the rice museum in the outskirts of Cullera..and if you get tired of noisy and crowded Valencia in Fallas come here, it’s much more enjoyable and the quality of the Fallas here is amazing for a little town..Thanks for the video!
Haha we were laughing at ourselves the entire time. It was a fun adventure for sure! Wow thank you for all the recommendations! We've heard of Casa Salvador but we felt like we should have had a bit more time to taxi out there and back. But we loved the town, we'll definitely be back and try out! Thank you for watching as always.
I agree Casa Salvador is one of the best rice restaurants, it has a video in youtube teaching how to make a good paella in English.
According to the British magazine MONEY... Valencia is the healthiest city to live... IN THE WORLD, the second is Madrid and the third is Lisbon. (The Iberian Peninsula has 3 of the 3 healthiest cities in the world) .. Congratulations for residing in one of them.
That's fantastic! We really enjoy living here. 😊 Thank you for watching our video.
If you like train distance cities to visit: Gandia, Sagunt and Morella (until Castelló in train and from there a bus) are worth a visit. You can watch RUclips videos about those cities first.
Thanks for the recommendations. We would love to visit those cities. Thank you for watching!
I want to go to Morella! Beautiful medieval city Specially during the Esrly Music Festival
Hi
Love your videos but please show us more the inside of the churches you come across

Hi Sarah, I guess you can call us digital nomads. We like to do little bit of many things if that makes sense. 😅 Thank you for watching!
