Ever since I watched your video months ago I've incorporated what I learned from you and used it to start making vanities of my own and sell them. I've made children set, normal sizes, and even full length ones with lights. Thanks for the upload 😀
Being the wife of a licensed electrician , you did AMAZING! You did everything correctly , it’s almost hard to believe that you did that all by yourself , most people need a professional to help. But you did amazing , from connecting the wires to hiding the wires and drilling holes on the light bars , to hanging the mirror!
I made this mirror for a school project 4 years ago and got a perfect score for my efforts, I was in highschool and to this day the mirror works exactly the same. I wanted to thank you for this video now because this video is all I needed to make my dream mirror💖
This video makes me feel dumb as hell. lol I would've never in a million years thought of this, let alone been able to do it without throwing some shit across the room in frustration.
You can totally do it! I did it, but I absolutely wanted to throw a bunch of shit out the window 😂. And yes, its incredibly frustrating because theres a lot of questions you have that can't always be answered by watching this video.

I watched this twice and just showed it to my boyfriend. He is going to make it for me!!! We loved watching you create this vanity. Your adorable and so capable!!! You doing it sealed the deal that he is going to do it. Girl power!!!
So we followed these instructions and bought the material. We still ended up having to slice the metal back plate and cut into the drywall to make the dimmer switch fit. Also, you should tell people to cut a whole notch out of the metal where the vanity connects so you don't have to disconnect wiring to take it apart if need be. Also, do yourself a favor and drill 2 extra holes on both sides of where the vanity bars meet so you can bolt the whole thing together to make it less flimsy when transporting it. This video makes it seem super simple but it took us about 6 hours of problem solving and doing extra stuff this video doesn't mention you need to do. 6/10 for instructions. 10/10 totally works if you don't mind having to solve some problems along the way.
@@interestedinstuff333 Late response, sorry. The dimmer switch she recommends is too bulky to fit inside the vanity bar. You either have to cut out the back plate of the vanity and into the drywall to make it fit, or you can search around for the slimmest possible knob type dimmer switch available, I recommend the latter. Thank you for emphasizing the importance of the electric components and connections!!! DIY project videos are GREAT, but sometimes not well researched! I'm so grateful you said that you discussed this with an electrician to get a beautiful, but SAFE, end result! And why electrical tape should still be used for safety - truly so impressed with the outcome - GORGEOUS! I'm really loving that you did this all with a great manicure as well!!! I think the people who watch this (most who won't be making this large of a vanity mirror) have gotten some excellent advice for making one of ANY size!!! The employees will make custom cuts for you of wood, glass, mirror, plastic, etc. They tell you where everything is found & also show you the proper hardware you for the project you show/explain to them. I make a lot of DIY Crafts using hardware & I can usually find one employee (male or female) who can follow my description & suggest a couple of options for what I'm needing. If you were to show this video to one of them, they should be able to walk you through the store to get everything you need, answer any questions & possibly share any concerns they might see [especially if you've never used power tools or done any electrical work (but The Find Guru did an amazing job in explaining what she did though)].
I built this a few years back following your video and man I still love it. Not I’m tryna put it all onto some plywood so I don’t have to keep screwing it into my walls. Thanks so much for the idea. Everyone uses those warm lights and you showed me to use the daylight lightbulbs and man they make a huge difference!
These was the most detailed and SAFE vanity lit mirror video I’ve seen. Thank you so much for this video!! Been looking to create my own vanity desk but a lot of them required using a extension cord, not only did I find that unsafe but also how would you even control it? I definitely look forward to putting my diy skills to the test with this project!
I am beyond super impressed! You did a great job and did your homework with the electrical requirements. In all my years doing electrical work here and there I've never seen anyone strip insulation off wire with scissors. If the wire was stranded you would want to use actual wire strippers instead. Hey Lady! Hope all is well. I was wondering if the mirror is 42X36 and not 36X36. By looking at it, the 6 bulb bars are 36 inches (as you showed) and the mirror IS the length of the bars going down. Going across, the mirror can't be 42 inches. Amazon says that the 6 bulb bars are 36X4.75, if you subtract 4.75x2 (because there are 2 6 bulb 36 in X 4.75 in vanity bars) from the 46 in 8 bulb vanity bar, across the top, the mirror would be really close to 36 inches too. Awesome DIY and I don't want to miss anything.I'm gathering my materials and want to order the right things. Help!
Hey Cookie. Yeah, I did the whole thing and the mirror was 42X36. What she did though, was place the light bars on top of the mirror on the sides. The bars covered the mirrors a couple of inches on both sides. Watch the video very very closely at 13.49, you will see the light bar sitting on the mirror. It came out pretty good though. I was torn between putting the whole thing on a piece of wood and hanging it like a huge living room portrait. I'll be moving eventually and I like that's how I going to do it next time.

YASS! I’ve been searching forever trying to find a good DIY vanity mirror to make and none of them looked right.. but THIS is freaking amazing😻 I know what my newest project is about to be!!
So, I'm making this exact one because I am IN LOVE! All of my lights have shipped and been delivered I just need to get my mirror cut. THANK YOU FOR THIS.
Hi, thank you so much for the wonderful video! I have a few question 1) if the mirror is 42”x36” then the 8 light vanity strip that is 48” wide doesn’t cover the 50” width of the mirror & the side vanity strips. 2) if you have put the mirror clips on top and sides, why is there no gap between the mirror and the vanity strips? How did you manage to remove the gap of the mirror clips and how did you fit the top vanity strip in line with the side strips?
omg your a life saver.....my husband made me a round vanity mirror but I wanted a boxed one an bigger an I was going to pay $650 For one that was huge like this one an has music an Bluetooth but I rather pay less an get it this big.😍😍😍😍 this one is gorgoues.

Alana Mccloud and that's a good idea love that's what I do now I have a cute lil Bluetooth speaker near my vanity now n it's been working great for me i just wanted to switch up my vanity the way I honestly wanted it before. So if someone can pull it off an actually make a mirror like this with bluetooth like the more expensive ones then it would be bomb. all you have to do is turn on your mirror.😍😍😍😍😍😍 but the other way your saying is good also I've been doing it for some time now.😎👍👍👍

I was expecting to watch a dad make a vanity for his daughter/wife when I searched for this but this is by far the dopest one I’ve seen! Hope my gf likes it!
So I'm building this exact vanity and so far I have bought everything you used except for the mirror. I literally can not find the same exact size mirror anywhere. They're sold out all over and I truly believe that it's because so many people recreated your vanity lol. I only found one that is the same size and it's $180 at Lowe's so I'm just gonna try to get it cut at a local glass company. Anyways, thanks for this video. This is literally my dream vanity and I'm so excited to say that I'm working on it this very second.
Thank goodness my grandpa is an electrician because honestly I wouldn’t have been able to do this mirror without him !! I watched this video at least 20 times lol 😂 and still couldn’t get it so I called my grandpa up and he helped me. Not only the fact that I couldn’t make it myself but it definitely took me not getting my nails done for about 5 weeks 😂 I had to savveee !! But it was all so worth it I love the mirror and it looks absolutely amazing! I’m so glad I didn’t have to go out and buy a $700 dollar one! You really can do it all girl 🤩. Thank youuuuuu
@@muziqvault7082 I noticed the same thing. dimmers fit within the light frame but when you close the top, there is no way it closes flush so that the light appear the same as the other plates. I think the front plate of the light will only go down half way. Is there any suggestions? These are the exact dimmers.
@@Prettylilpursepavillion I thought about getting some 3/4 in plywood. Big enough to put the lights and mirror on it then cutting a hole in the frame of the lighting and cutting a square hole in the wood do the dimmer would sit flush. This will make it project one piece like a picture. If you ever want to take of the Wall for example when you move you want have to worry about multiple pieces. Just my thoughts. I tried like 4 different kinds of dimmers.
I rent a condo and I’m about to do this project (been wanting to do it for over a year now). Just as a suggestion to anyone else who may want to do this project, I would suggest mounting everything to a thin but story’s piece of wood then hanging it up on the wall like you would a heavy mirror. Find your studs, use a level, etc. But doing it that way would make it a lot easier for transport in case you decide to move.
I've been looking for a nice vanity that I like, This is beautiful you did such a good job and an excellence job at explaining how to handle the wires. I will be making this soon!!

can you please put all the details in the description box or in a comment.. omg i have screenshot this about a thousand times trying to get each detail😭
Great looking work and love how detailed you were but man I wish you had expanded on the dimmer situation, it doesn't fit and it's been a bitch and a half to figure out. I think I've figured out a way to do it without building a box for it which is to use a wireless led lamp dimmer that fits the watts. It's like $50 added on but hey i'm already here and bought all the stuff so might as well push it to $300.
I just finished making mine and STUNNING! Thank you for this video. One question: which dimmer do you recommend? i bought the one i saw in this video but the depth was too much. it made the place where it is supposed to be bulge out :/ Please advise. that’s the only thing missing. i’m plugging in and out when in use
No girl i didn't make it.. i bought it. And thats only because i live in an apt and i cant screw to many things into my wall. But when i get a house girl yasss!

It does not fit at all I had to purchase a different one from amazon with a 1 inch depth
Carol Cook may you share the brand and model for that dimmer please?
Carol Cook can you share which one you bought?

The Find Guru especially today’s “men”, you got that right lol
YASS! I’ve been searching forever trying to find a good DIY vanity mirror to make and none of them looked right.. but THIS is freaking amazing😻 I know what my newest project is about to be!!
This is the best one yet. Well explained.
ive watced so many vanity videos and this is the best one hands down, so informative and clear to follow love that
Wow this was so good I don't think I've seen one this big! Gonna make mine soon thanks for the tips 🙌🏽
Diana Leann coz they never sell us women what we want it's always over priced
Best one by far! Explained well, shown well and looks good! My girl is going to love it once I’m done
That's bomb as hell... I wish I had the time I would attempt it in a smaller version.
The Find Guru what are the measurements for the mirror exactly and the glass top? Love this!!!
You're so positive and kind! Just a genuinely helpful person
I'm wayyyyyyyyyy too lazy for this! It's soo beautiful!! 😍
So, I'm making this exact one because I am IN LOVE! All of my lights have shipped and been delivered I just need to get my mirror cut. THANK YOU FOR THIS.
Where did u get the mirror it self from???
Hi, thank you so much for the wonderful video! I have a few question
1) if the mirror is 42”x36” then the 8 light vanity strip that is 48” wide doesn’t cover the 50” width of the mirror & the side vanity strips.
2) if you have put the mirror clips on top and sides, why is there no gap between the mirror and the vanity strips?
How did you manage to remove the gap of the mirror clips and how did you fit the top vanity strip in line with the side strips?
Exact issues I’m having right now
I really appreciate your video ❤❤
This is hands down the best diy vanity tutorial! Bomb
omg your a life saver.....my husband made me a round vanity mirror but I wanted a boxed one an bigger an I was going to pay $650 For one that was huge like this one an has music an Bluetooth but I rather pay less an get it this big.😍😍😍😍 this one is gorgoues.
nattalee right and just set up your cute lil pink beats on the vanity 🙋
nattalee me now imagining how to diy add music/Bluetooth to the vanity 🤔🤔🤔😍😍😍
wouldn't it be so cute.....i bet you ladies can pull it off. my husband said he could do it for me but I think he has other plans in store. lol if it's what I'm thinking with the one I wanted 😍😍😍😍but this mirror if someone did a diy with music it would be so amazing😍😍😍because this mirror is Gorgoues!!!!
Alana Mccloud and that's a good idea love that's what I do now I have a cute lil Bluetooth speaker near my vanity now n it's been working great for me i just wanted to switch up my vanity the way I honestly wanted it before. So if someone can pull it off an actually make a mirror like this with bluetooth like the more expensive ones then it would be bomb. all you have to do is turn on your mirror.😍😍😍😍😍😍 but the other way your saying is good also I've been doing it for some time now.😎👍👍👍
Girl I did this step by step and even added some of my own custom pieces to it and it came out great just like yours! It was my little quarantine project thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
How did you do it to place the dimmer? Mine was popping out a lot that I had to just give up
Where did you get the mirror itself?
Girl, I cannot believe you did this with those nails on! You're an inspiration
Sooooo its under $250 meaning its $249.99 lol but for real its awesome! This may be cheesy but this video was really empowering. Watching you do something that is said to be a mans job all while looking cute and rocking purple polish is freaking AMAAAAAZING!!!!!
I was expecting to watch a dad make a vanity for his daughter/wife when I searched for this but this is by far the dopest one I’ve seen! Hope my gf likes it!
I was so enthusiastic about this until I saw the steps to put it together. I'm impressed but girl knowing me I'm too lazy to set all this up lol 😂
Best diy vanity I've seen!!!! Excellent job!
OMGGG!!! I didn't know I needed this until now. This is so BEAUTIFUL!!!
Soooooo glad I found this video I’ve been watching It for the pass week trying to get ready to build my own vanity in a few months.... I’m so excited
All I understood was "black wire" "white wire" and "vanity" lmao but fuck it imma try it!! I LOVE IT❤️❤️❤️
Princess Bry lmao 😂
You got my hair on fleek, meals on fleek, workouts on fleek and now you got me building! Bish giving me life with every video.
Girl, my eyes got cross-eyed with all the wire connecting.:-) Could you do a few more to sale .
KinuGoddess777 that's what I'm saying, I was so lost instantly! What woman has all these power too,s?
So I'm building this exact vanity and so far I have bought everything you used except for the mirror. I literally can not find the same exact size mirror anywhere. They're sold out all over and I truly believe that it's because so many people recreated your vanity lol. I only found one that is the same size and it's $180 at Lowe's so I'm just gonna try to get it cut at a local glass company. Anyways, thanks for this video. This is literally my dream vanity and I'm so excited to say that I'm working on it this very second.
Can you put everything you used in the discription box ?
Samantha Reyes right I done screenshot about ten times lol
Same
Do you have the list ?
Samantha Reyes girl I can't to the comments like did she lost anything
List**
The mirror is 42x36? I am having a hard time finding it at Home Depot and online
It's custom cutt
Amazing skill and precision, it turned out PERFECT in the end - I'm so amazed!
I tried this, there's a few important details that are left out in video especially if doing this alone and inexperienced.
Care to share?
Ya rely??? Need to know!!!
Dimmers don't fit.
Thank you so much for posting this vid! Could you explain whether or not you used the ground wires for each fixture and also the dimmer?
Where u learn how to do this?
Probably hired an electrician girllllll
Great DIY project. Looking to build 2 of them for my girls. Love the detail of your video. Thanks for sharing.
Yessssss slay that vanity!
Yasssss SCIENCE COME THRUUUUU🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 kids this is why you need science class 💕💕😂😂
I've been looking for a nice vanity that I like, This is beautiful you did such a good job and an excellence job at explaining how to handle the wires. I will be making this soon!!
I hate how people have questions, and she doesnt answer them... smh
You are awesome , this was so simple and as long as I can see it I can do. You were clear and confident on all the steps this is my new project. Thank you for sharing.
Check your local Dollar Tree!!! I found the dimmable led bulbs for $1 each and their were value packs of 3 or 4 bulbs also 🤗
were they the globe bulbs (the fat balloon ones) like hers?
That vanity is so beautiful you go girl. I really enjoyed watching this and learning how to create my own. I love it ❤️
can you please put all the details in the description box or in a comment.. omg i have screenshot this about a thousand times trying to get each detail😭
This video is probably the best one on here and you did an amazing job
Great looking work and love how detailed you were but man I wish you had expanded on the dimmer situation, it doesn't fit and it's been a bitch and a half to figure out. I think I've figured out a way to do it without building a box for it which is to use a wireless led lamp dimmer that fits the watts. It's like $50 added on but hey i'm already here and bought all the stuff so might as well push it to $300.
Can you elaborate on the one you used?
sharde wilson I returned it but they were located at Home Depot. I can’t remember the name.
So we’re you able to put the dimmer? I have put this project in hold for a year and I came back to see if she replied or someone fixed the issue
Hey what about that greenish bluish cord attatched to the dimmer and the one to the extention cord?? Do i connect those together?
Did you make it? I am now and my dimmer is too fat for the top of the vanity to lay flat. I used the same dimmer she did
No girl i didn't make it.. i bought it. And thats only because i live in an apt and i cant screw to many things into my wall. But when i get a house girl yasss!
Charis Roberts hey girl! I have the same issue!! Did you end up getting it?
Charis Roberts what did you do for the dimmer?
Thank you so much this video. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I made a smaller version for my daughter and she loves it!! Thanks again. BTW, I LOVE your hair.
Please do more of these DIYs!!!!
Okay I'm so in love with this vanity mirror, i have to try this, love you videos.
Wow! A really beautiful women and she knows how to do DIY projects i like that.
Very well researched.
Im an apprentice electrician and I learned something watching this lol.
Is the power cord visible when you plug it in, or is it hidden?
