Good morning friends and welcome to Part 3 of my Christmas Decorating Series. As I've mentioned in past videos I am not going out and buying and new decor this year. other than a couple new garlands for the living room mantle and a few pine picks and ribbon. I want to make use of the decor pieces that I already have and make simple handmade pieces to add that warm, cozy and festive touch. One example of that is the cranberry and orange garland that I make for the dining room mantle. It is such a wonderful way to add old fashioned Christmas charm to a window, a tree or a mantle like I have done. They can honestly be hung anywhere. I truly hope that this holiday season I inspire and encourage you to work with what you have and not feel the pressure to spend money that you may or may not have on brand new decor year after year. The Christmas decor that I love the most are the family pieces that have been passed down to me and the homemade pieces that tell a story. What are your favorite pieces to decorate with Christmas? I would love to know to know in the comments.
Thank you again for taking the time to watch my videos every week. I am so grateful for each and every one of you.
See y'all next week!
Carin

I’m 73 years old and Christmas was not the decorating marathon that it is today and yet I remember it being very magical as a child.. Christmas cards taped to the mantel, a dish of fresh oranges and another with mixed nuts. And the tree with all those sparkling old shiny bright ornaments and lots of silver tin icicles. I also remember the electric candles in the window. And that was all there was and it still seemed so very special. So sometimes less is more and it can still be magical. Great video look forward to next week’s.
Yes! I’ve been so drawn to the simpler version of Christmas the last few years. Not to say that I don’t still love much of the decor that I’ve collected over the years, especially the things that are nostalgic to our girls, but I definitely lean towards less is more these days. It just brings so much peace to my soul. ❤️
Just beautiful. Love the music, too.
Thank you so much Mary! ❤️

Love the sweatshirt. My husband is also an '81 baby 😁 I'm basically wearing the exact same outfit today except my shirt says "Gap" in the exact same font and black leggings 😁
Thank you!!! Oh I love that we were nearly matching! The day that I filmed it was my birthday so it seemed like the appropriate choice. 😂

Your decorating is very tasteful. There are other channels I do follow and appreciate. However, some things are very overdone..
