OVERLAND ARMENIA - Yerevan & hiking Mt. Aragats

In this episode we stroll through Armenia's capital Yerevan, climb the 3,800m high Little Aragats and take an adventurous off-road tour to a waterfall.
Mt. Aragats is the highest mountain in Armenia at around 4,090m. The Little Aragats is about 3,890m high. The hike on the Little Aragats is not difficult and is also doable for inexperienced hikers.
Very close by we take an adventurous off-road tour to a large waterfall that pours into a lonely valley.
In Garni we visit the beautiful Roman temple. It dates from the 1st century but was destroyed by a strong earthquake. It was rebuilt in the 1970s and is now one of the country's most popular attractions.
Just a stone's throw from Garni, travelers can admire the one-of-a-kind "Symphony of the Stones" - a series of vertically towering basalt columns that wind their way through a canyon like a giant organ.
The Geghard Monastery is also on our list. It is one of the most popular monasteries in the country and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Finally, we explore Yerevan - Armenia's bustling capital and the country's economic heart. Around 1 million people live in the city (which is a third of the total population of Armenia).
