  • This is a wonderful chance to see how the keepers interact with the big cats during their training. The Tigers really seem to enjoy it, so long as people are quiet!! This is an AMAZING cat, and I am so glad we got to see him. The bond he has with the trainers, is remarkable. There is trust there that I am proud to have seen. Enjoy!

Please I know you are trying to do good but this is so unnatural.. have you asked the creatures if they really “like” this

      Poaching isn't "natural" either.

There is a purpose for this training. If and when medical treatment is needed, this training makes it easier to be done by the vets and the keepers. The animals do not even realize that they are getting a physical.
Its not done just for the heck of it. So there is no trauma to the animals.

This zoo works with conservation in the natural habitat of these animals and many others. If they were in the wild they would be probably be killed. This tiger and Sumatran tigers are the most endangered of all the species of tigers that are left in the world. Only 300 Sumatran tigers are still in the wild. They are being shot by farmers because they no longer have natural habitat left and their natural food sources have been wiped out. So they prey on farmers goats. This zoo and its keepers care for the health and welfare of all the animals in their care. They do every thing they can to help with enrichment daily. The zoo donates funds to sanctuaries in the field to try and preserve as much safe habitat as possible and stop poaching. If it was not for us humans killing off pretty much everything, there would be no need for zoos or sanctuaries. As a species we have wiped out thousands of species of plants and animals and there is no end in sight. This zoo and others are trying to help save as many species as they can.

I am not joking, its a fact about humans destroying animal habitats all over the world and in the ocean. With no habitat and no food, they die and humans also kill them. I talked to a lady from Sumatra last Nov. and she had lived in Sumatra for decades and she told me how the farmers were shooting and killing Sumatran tigers. Also poaching goes on every where in the world. Illegal hunting of endangered animals for their furs, tusks and horns. Its a fact and no joke.
