I've never tried As I Am hair wax but I have tried both Mofajang and ORS hair wax. I must say ORS hair wax is very hydrating and gets them curls to clump for my 4b/4c hair. ORS is hands down a winner.
Nia I wouldn’t totally agree with you if my best friend didn’t try the product and she had the same results 😭. But then again the as I am is more of a gel consistency also I kinda had the same results with the curlsmith one which is also a gel consistency.

for sure my hair is fine and thin which basically means im bald headed so the color transfers much more vibrant than perhaps someone who has thicker hair.
I’ve tried using gels that come with those small wands similar to mascara applicators, but they get stuck in my hair, and the gel isn’t applied thick enough to control my hair all day. @@TheCurlPapi To my knowledge, if it is for curl color retention and definition, then ORS is good. ORS however, has a lot of questionable ingredients that are flagged as damaging and unsafe for long term use on the scalp. However, I am glad ORS doesn’t use bleach and that the ORS product, once dry, doesn’t transfer and lasts for a few days while keeping a great texture. As I Am Inc. brands itself as a vegan brand, and it is healthier than ORS and Curlsmith, but this particular product is not near the top ten, in comparison with other colorful and healthier brands. In comparison, Curlsmith is healthier for the scalp than ORS, and it might do better than both of these, yet it doesn’t convince me to be healthier than As I Am. Mofajang can give an initial scare because during their rebrand, they were not clear as to how the product is formulated. I am getting a trim first while I continue my research. Some companies are competing for customers, and creating healthier products for their customers. Wax is a product that isn’t intended to be left for more than a day, yet I am positive about the future of hair color wax products for all hair types.
Thank you for the review! Your review was great! Very informative! I want to try a silver/white color hair wax for my natural brush cut but just in the front around my edges/temple area. I hope it comes in the color I want!
I like the ors on you. I tried the as I am bold gold, I like it but it flakes off. Can you please review PHC Phamily Hair Care all in one product, I love this one especially for my natural hair.
@@lolad6083 I completely understand love, I used a water mister to damp my hair because it was dry. Damp hair is when your hair is neither dripping wet nor completely dry which is the state my hair was in when I applied the product. For future videos I’ll make sure to mention what state my hair is in before applying a product so that there is no confusion. Thank you for your feedback I really appreciate it.
Can i use it if i have straight hair? I mean, can this be so sticky for my hair type? I just want it for change temporary the color, i don't care if i get some curls or not, just care for the texture when is dry, if is sticky. Thanks
im sure you can because when it dries its not sticky its definitely going to be crunchy so your still going to have to uncrunch by scrunching your hair. if you try it please let me know how it goes im curious to know.
To be fair, I kinda feel like you needed to back and add more ors so that you used the same amount on both sides. I feel like the ors would’ve been more poppin in color with more applied. But your hair looks healthier on the ors side. Definitely trying their product!
I recently tried the red color from as I am for a halloween look and the curls weren’t giving what they were supposed 2. Same week I used the orange from ors for a Halloween look and my experience is just always better with ors.
I literally just scrunched in upward motion and then bent over forward with my head upside down and scrunched upward to break the cast the more you scrunch the softer the hold is.
Hey 👋🏼 thanx for your kind words and the info. I try not to use the hair typing system on my channel I created a video discussing it’s problematic history, that being said though my hair would be considered type 3 more specifically 3b due to the spiral curls. I hope you enjoyed the video 😊.
I tried the As I Am with damp hair, and yes, I did notice the product is less intense, softer, and has less shine and less chemicals than ORS. The instrctions say apply to dry or damp hair (not soaking wet). Use gloves! The As I Am wax lost some intensity, the 2nd day, yet not by much. However, I can use As I Am because otherwise I look weird with too much shine and bounce and I don't use product everyday. I prefer matte finishes but shiny warm colors can sometimes do the trick. After the first wash, the curls still look amazing and As I Am allows for safe reuse and can be reapplied for a stronger layer of color. I suggest doing a wash with a mix of leave in conditioner and hair mask before using any wax dyes. I was going to use a burgundy on my black hair, but to recover the bounce, I mixed curl cream with As I Am bold gold and passion purple to get a bouncy dark golden brown, and it ended a bouncy dark bronzed brown, with less shine than copper, which is not bad 🎉. When it dried, I added a bit of this darkened gold again on the top to highlight, and the dark brown faded in the curls to become a bronzed brown with dark espresso, which looks amazingly beautiful on my skin tone. I applied multiple layers since coarse hair absorbs less, so expect to separate 2 hours prior to have time to reapply. There is a way to preserve color and add shine to the As I Am product, but I really didn't want or had to use it. Once it dries it won't transfer. ❤ ORS, Curlsmith, and As I Am are getting closer to the end ⛳ goal. Downside for men: if you have a beard, it will get messy, so wax the beard with a top coat of aloe vera gel, mix hair clay with the wax and apply, use any safe color coating, or eat foods through a straw 😂 👌.
The as i am is a gel not a wax and I'm sure that's part of it. Ive used the wax a Lot andi love it but i feel like the color is more of a brown than blonde. I

No don’t rewet it water will remove the product. When I get ready for bed I put my hair in a pine apple and flush and pick the next morning usually gets the job done since the product give your hair good hold not a lot of work the next few days
I'm sure you should be fine I would make sure the wax is fully dry and scrunch your hair to break the cast from the product and when its soft enough to your liking I would go ahead and braid. your definitely not going to be able to detangle your hair with the wax in it though.
I promise it was damp 🤣. Since filming this video I’ve used the product multiple times on damp and dry hair with and without leave in and the results were the same. The consistency is similar the the curlsmith hair make up (which makes sense because their both considered “gels”) and even that one was a better product than the as I am. To be fair it just might not be for my hair or the one I bought was just a bad batch but I swear my hair was not to wet 😭.
Maybe? Its meant to be more like a styling product though so I can’t imagine having your hair straight with this product in it. If you ever try it on your relaxed hair let me know the results please
Ok sooooooo boom the most important thing is going to be how you take care of your hair at night before bed. I usually put my hair in a pineapple and keep it in my satin bonnet.
