I am preparing for CUET PG and went through a lot of good video lectures on History of English Literature, but no one even comes close to these.... So elaborate, yet so lucid..... I am beyond just grateful, thank you very much ma'am.....
Mam I am not only your student but your fan as well. You are my inspiration and I'll try my best to become a teacher like you. You just turns everything in a magic fluid which just enters in our minds and remains there. Really grateful to have you.
Just finished the series. I can't thank you enough for what you made, literally you are the teacher who made me in love with literature, you are the reason I took literature as my major. I never found such teacher in my country Pakistan nor in India or other foreign countries you are incomparable I shared this series with all of my friends. Plz mam do produce such videos you are really doing miracles. I want to be a teacher like you if I ever get a chance to teach I'll copy your style.
Hi ma'am. I from Vellore one of the district in Tamilnadu. I have watched your British literature series from the mid. Previously I went on searching few video content to prepare but I wasn't satisfied with the way they presented and all were giving just a gist and focusing only on grabbing attention for their payable coaching classes through online or offline. Here I have seen a soul completed dedicated her knowledge to the understanding and future of the viewers and students. I can't end up saying " Thank You". Even though thank you so much for your effort on making this series. After watched your videos my interest on learning literature has been increased. Once again thank you so much ma'am.🌹🌺.
I started watching your series from the Puritan Age since the ones I was following through cec, though they were great lectures too but it was less informative since a conventional method was being followed of a prof teaching and students sleeping behind the screens. For everybody reading this, cec has made in detail lectures for every minute segment of the history which can be best followed during masters and not for a preparation of an entrance but nevertheless, I would still suggest people Professor 'Nimble Pop' because I can assure you, you will find yourself genuinely interested in the lectures and not being a total sleepyhead. My only critical point would be the lack of '20th century literature' not being included in the series but nevertheless, I enjoyed learning a lot from this series and hopefully, I would get to learn more in the near future.
As a NET aspirant, this series was of immense help. Thank you so much for the detailed, and engaging videos which you put out for free, for students like us. Can we get a similar addition to this series, with reageds to the MOdern Age and Post Modern Age? Thanks!!
Ma'am could you please make a series of literary theory and criticism and cultural studies also.. will be highly beneficial for us ... thank you so very much for your efforts 😊🙏

Hello ma'am ! I'm Shraddha, student of 4th sem. I wanted to know that if you are uploading any lecture related to modern and post modern age, although i've read the novels, poems and other works from this era but i'm not clear how to describe the age in descriptive questions, your lectures are very descriptive and easy to understand,it would be really helpful to me and my classmates if you make one, thank you!😊
Good Evening ma'am. I hope you are doing well. I thank you for your explanation. As interesting as it is, it provoked some questions in my mind. I apologize in advance for your inconvenience. 1. You mentioned two books, "Origin of Species" by Darwin and another by Karl Marx, which jeopardized the socio-economic, religious and political outlooks of the time. But I could not understand how did these two books manage to topple down the existing beliefs. 2. Regarding drama, I failed to interconnect the causes with the consequential absence of dramas in this period. This is because, i. From your explanation I found that most of the writers had critical approach towards their contemporary society. If so, why not drama? I mean if criticality is present in all other genre, why it is only drama that was discouraged? Again dramas can be of various types. If radicality and criticality were discouraged, some other types of drama could have prospered. ii. While watching the video, I felt that due to some technical edit, your sentence just before the anti-homosexuality regulation, starting with "when" was cut short. Hence I may have missed one of your mentioned causes for the same. But again, it may also be my mistake. iii. Even if homosexuality was banned, except for Wilde, how could it influence the entire production of dramatic genre? iv. Was there any other censorship? Once again why did it only restricted dramatic art? As you mentioned, we find mimetic elements in some ither literary genres like that of browning. Then what was the problem then with the full fledged mimetic art? Was the causes similar to that of Puritan age where dramas were taken as propagators of sin? 3. Ma'am, time and again you made interesting remarks on the inverse relationship between economic boom and individual and revolutionary voices in a society. It does happen. Will you kindly explain why does it happen? I came up with the thought that one of the reasons might be that if the country is stable, there is no need for revolution at all because revolution comes from unrest or discontent. If I am content, I am at peace. One of the other reason that I found from your video is hypocrisy, that is, they are deliberately silent because they know their economic prosperity depends on colonial exploitation. Can suppression be another reason? If so may we say that economic stability and prosperity may not imply social stability and prosperity? But then again, without social stability, economic stability cannot be achieved. I Is it absolute obedience to the state or government (which may be forced or result of conditioning) which brings stability in social sphere and then in economic sphere? I am very confused about this issue. 4. On the topic of Fantasy literature, you said that sometimes these fantasies brings us to a greater "brutal" confrontation with reality than realistic ones. I failed to understand how does it do so. It may covertly comment on the society, hide reality within fantasy, but how is it more brutal than the realistic ones or ones based on realism? 5. In the context of Carroll's Alice books, you said that there is an Alice and a Red Queen in all of us. How? We had one of the books of Alice in our previous semester, so it piqued my interest. Is it in the sense that there is a child and an adult in all of us? 6. You also mentioned that the society of England was reluctant to many changes and was not ready for many changes. But it could at least have debated on the issues and ideas that were coming up in different parts of the world. Was it somehow a secluded society? But then it is not possible. Then how can there have been no influence or generation of immediate response of these ideas of feminism already established in America and Europe on English society ? I do not know if my questions are appropriate. These appear to be long and some of my questions might appear to be repetitive due to my failure to express myself properly . I hope you will correct and forgive my mistakes. I am sorry for the trouble. I will be very grateful if you may kindly answer my queries taking out some time from your busy schedule. I really love the way you teach. I hope I can learn more from you in the upcoming days. Thank you ma'am. Good night.
Thank you for your questions. I don't want to answer them in a rush. So please give me some time to answer you because your questions deserve more than a sentence or two as answers. Stay in touch.
