How would the Giants take a tackle if this team hasnt had a WR 1 since Odelll Beckham. Makes no sense, you need playmakers at some point.

@@BigDaddy-fx4nx if Briscillo doesnt think Neal is AT LEAST an NFL G but believes he can play T when why did you hire him? If the only issue on the OL was Neal and just Neal, then okay you missed on a guy everyone believed was a top prospect. It happens. But the only OL whos worked out is AT and that was due to his 1 on 1s with his own coaches in his free time. Every other player they drafted and FA they've signed has gotten worse on the team or failed to develop. Feliciano left to be pro bowl calibur, Glowinski was well above avg in indy and got benched, JMS got worse as the season went along but the most clear example is Phillips going to the Eagles PS and improving his technique more in 6 weeks than he did an entire year with the Giants.
The issue is coaching. Sign Onwenu who can play RT or RG and see what Briscillo can do with Neal, slide Onwenu to the other. There is lot of IOL depth to grab in the mid rounds if the value is good but no fucking way at 6. Ill puke.

There's going to be some really good iOL's in the second round. So far in my mocks I have 1- Nabers WR, 2a- Nubin S and 2b- Bebee OG. Add another OG in FA and a swing of some kind or 2 like a OC/OG and a RT/LT or OG.

Also there is a 0% chance Giants draft ANOTHER great LT prospect and roll the dice he transitions well to RT. They have one of the best LT in football they just need competence at RT and will get in FA. Giants will go WR if they stick and pick at 6 if no QB’s fall.

I wouldn’t let 1 bust warp decades of successful RT development. Most NFL linemen, regardless of position, even some centers, played LT. Colleges put their best athletes at LT. Arguably the best RT in the league Penei Sewell was more of a LT than Joe Alt. Alt started out at an entirely different position. Also, Penei was graded by PFF as the best tackle in the NFL this year, only 3 seasons after switching
No more rookie OL. Fix it in FA
Neal is NOT A TACKLE!! Alabamas quick game offense fooled everybody!! Hes a guard at best and a backup if hes lucky
My probable plan:
WR in 1st round
Offensive Lineman in 2nd and 3rd rounds
QB in 4th Round

I dont respect the Alt pick given hes a LT and we already have that if they want to draft RT either take a developmental RT late in the draft or trade back and take JC Lathem or Tyler Guyton who are actual RTs and get a draft haul. but if you cant get QB id much rather take Malik Nabers at 6 if available an i expect him to be

Big fan of the guys you mentioned though but I do thing they’re going to try and lock up a solid tackle in free agency

So much talent in this class it would be a shame to force a pick when there are starters all over this class

I’m trading up for the #3 overall pick, getting Maye or Daniels, signing a WR1 and building the o line in 2nd/3rd round.

We won't have any 2nd rounders unfortunately and no one would want to come in free agency for a rebuild
Wont be able to build in the 2nd cause you will likely need to package both or one of them to move up plus something next year. Better to sit and take a developmental QB in the second or wait for next year when you can get out of Jones' contract
Is this QB class better this year or next year is Drake Maye or Jayden Daniel’s worth a trade up ? I think Joe Schoen job in maybe Daboll job might be on the line because we have D-Jones in I don’t think Giants can’t afford to have another lackluster year plus he won’t be ready to start the year they have to make a decision soon
This is the best offseason take I've heard on the Giants. As a Commanders fan I certainly hope though they go Nabers who is just a better version of what they already have in Wandale Robinson.
You hit the nail on the head with what giants need. But taking a step back it should be noted, JJ is a top 32 talent at QB. A team will draft him in the first round. He has a small sample of what he can do in a pro offense, but a team who sits him for a year is gonna get a Joe Burrow esque player with a slightly heavier arm
And to add to that they have more holes. I think the best dart throw would be Rattler in the 4th round and IF they’re high on him maybe the 3rd

The best they can do now is get pieces as movement towards fixing it. It won't be a couple of months and a few draft picks and FA pickups it won't be complete by the 2024 start of the season you're looking at 2025 -2026 to get to it being fixed

I know it would be a huge cap hit BUT if Alt is a great LT couldn’t we get a haul for ALT or Thomas by next season?

At some point giants coaching has to get better you can’t keep wasting picks on o linemen in the top 10. You need a playmaker whether it’s for Daniel jones or a second round qb. Only other option that’s acceptable is if a Jayden Daniels falls but you still need a use a decent pick on a receiver in like round 2 or possibly get a fa receiver
Giants need a QB, wide receiver down the field. Guards, edge rusher, linebacker and a CB2

I'm comfortable with the receivers....Jones needs TIME to throw...I think Joe Alt is perfect, but I would take another OLine man for the second or third. Gotta get that OLine right or no one is going anywhere.
If the giants were going to address o line in the first round.. why wouldn’t they potentially trade back and gather capital to get even more lineman?
The Giants can draft s QB like Rattler in the later rounds. The problem in 2023 was Daboll and his WR playing time rotations and overconservative game plans. Why is Jalin Hyatt not given 70% of the snaps when he is the fastest guy on the team? If a team can't score, then go for it every time on 4th down from your own 40 until the team starts scoring. Losing 14-10 or 40-31 are both losses (even 55-30) but the team needs to get used to scoring 27+ points on a regular basis.
Glowinski is a decent option, Kayvon had a down year compared to last year even though he increased his sack total by 7.5. Had 3.5 sacks against Washington 2 on the Seahawks & 3 against the Jets. If he doesn’t dominate against bad Olines & QBs yall use that against him but instead yall using him doing against him. Y’all said all the Giants receivers are small but we have 1 receiver under 6ft lmao man idk yall

Why do ppl keep saying take a OL at 6 when we haven’t developed any of our lineman . Grab a wide receiver with that pick (nabers or Rome) get OL in free agency. We have more cap space to attack the the lineman
Fix the giants by taking another first round LEFT tackle, and jj…. What is this take ?? And kayvon had a drop off ? Did you guy not watch the giants this year, kayvon is the first edge to get double digit sacks in winks system that alone says everything you need to know. This is how you fix the giants, sign a proven right tackle and premier or slightly above average guard, sign a veteran CB, resign X, see if a deal can be done with Saquon, if not tag and trade. Grab a veteran QB, and an edge, Allen and hunter would be expensive but I think if you go for them it will be worth it. First round Malik Nabers, if you can’t get him trade back two-three spots for Rome or take him at 6 if you feel a team is eyeing him. Second round if JJ is there take him, if not take DL, then Guard, third round find grab rattler and then choose between LB and RB last safety. This year should be all about protecting DJ and giving him a WR1, regardless if we bring in a rookie that doesn’t and shouldn’t take away from the 40 mil dollar QB you just sign who was unfortunately behind the worst offensive line last season and got injured twice. DJ proved to me he can be a winner, and without much help, keep building the roster like your still building around DJ, if he somehow doesn’t work out you can get out of his deal and the rookie will have a much better chance to succeed then if you just throw him to the wolves like they did DJ
Giants aren’t going to AGAIN pick a great LT prospect w their 1st round pick only to roll the dice and hope he transitions well to RT. They have one of the best LT in football, all they need at RT is competence and not a disaster that Neal has been. They will adress RT and one of the guard positions in free agency and possibly middle rounds of draft. If they draft a tackle it will be someone in the middle round who plays RT already. They will pick Nabors or odunze if they stick and pick at 6(which ever is still on board. If both are still on the board at 6 they will go nabors) unless a top 3 QB falls to them. I bet they will try and move up to draft a too 3 QB but the picks won’t be for sale. Maybe the get a QB like Spencer rattler in the later rounds.
I disagree! They need a WR1 and the best course of action is to move Neal to guard. He is too slow footed to be a tackle but has the strength and size to be a great guard.

To repair the GMEN, they should draft a QB. Caleb Williams & Drake May won't be they.? They should get a QB if JJ McCarthy because Daniel Jones appears like another Carson Wentz. He passes up McCarthy, and Jones goes down another season in tanking games for year in NFL-Lottery. Then sure up D-L by drafting Kris Jenkins, an O-L & WR comes next.? Would the Giants really toss a 6th overall at a guy that played Left Tackle all through college instead of a WR/QB? Why convert a guy to Right Tackle that never played on that side instead of grabbing a legit college RT in round 2? They do have 2 seconds.

Rome is the type of WR that Daballz does not want. They want speed guys with YAC ability, that's Nabers.

@@parhamantoine Ok. Nabers is a no brainer at 6. Rome is a contested catch WR. Jones doesn't throw to covered WR's. Penix, Nix or JJ at 39 definitely works. Maybe Pratt or Rattler in round 4. Milton in round 6.

Giants will not take ol in the 1st pick of draft for many reasons. Its either nabers or a qb.. We've drafted more ol then any other team since 2018 I can't see them to continue the same trend..

Why trade up or grab a QB at 6? It does not matter what quarterback you put on this team, they are going to perform like trash because everything else around the quarterback is trash. Fix the line, give us a solid, healthy running back, give us wide receivers who catch the ball, give us a defense that's going to stop. Please. Daniel Jones will become a mediocre quarterback. If not slightly better with a better offensive team. You can work with that until his contract expires.

For what football reason has Schoen been a bright spot? After 2 full offseasons he has not brought in ONE difference maker, and he shelled out more resources to keep Gettlemans core than ive ever seen a new GM spend on the previous regimes pieces.

Nabers is the choice or another WR. Why take a QB when he has nothing to work with? He would not do any better than Jones. Forget drafting a T. We have been trying to fix the OL for years. Quarterbacks are a crap shoot. No way would I trade up for an iffy QB - and they are all iffy. Look at history.

@@isaiahh4108 it’s not about not being able to play immediately, it’s about not showing it and projecting. It’s one thing for me to see Bo Nix consistently dissect pressures, pre and post snap, or Michael Penix consistently going through reads and consistently pushing the ball down field, and for me to say they might be able to translate. It’s completely different when on tape, JJ isn’t good at certain things, but he has NFL “traits”. Those are 2 separate projections. That’s like a Josh Allen projection, but Josh is Bigger, stronger, has a stronger arm, better runner and was asked to do more in college. All fairness, I didn’t like Josh coming out either
Take an 0-lineman at 6 after all the draft capital sunk into the line and a new o-line coach hired to upgrade the talent, and there is talent, there. No need to ever listen to these two on anything.
