When I went to basic in Fort Leonard Wood in 2007, the Drills didn’t yell much. They were outstanding NCOs who were there to teach us privates how to be soldiers.
My Drill sgts was the best motivators in my life! SDS Kapustij and DS Finney. I was older than them but I loved the motivation and their expertise in the way of a Soldier
The questions should be coming from the Drill Sergeants to the recruits. Like why did you think you could come Army Basic Training and it be easy? (because my recruiter told me I wouldn't have to do anything I didn't feel like doing) HAHAHA!!!
Every Army DS i ever met personally was/is an outstanding NCO. Don't typically just uphold standards, they live them and are still all around amazing human beings for all they do. Ft Jackson SC, D. Co 2/60 "Scouts Out" 2017
My guy really tried to hold back laughter on the "do drill sergeants cuss" question. They do. 100%
Not anymore they dont
@THDUSTFF J
Hello a month later. Just graduated basic training at fort jackson. Can confirm they cuss. A lot. Lmfao
@@kewagnerGOOD! Thank god to confirm because my DS back then LOVED to mess with us 🤣 and cuss us out
Fort Jackson in 1988 - our drill sergeants didn’t yell, they “were motivating you in a loud manner”
Miss my drill sergeants from basic.

My drill sergeants in 1969 weren't abusive but the philosophy in those days was to break down the individual and build everyone up as a team.
1989 for me.

Did he use smelling salts in the morning for pt when I went he was my first sgt 😂
Holy fuck SDS Rowell. Funniest man I've ever met. Yes they do cuss
Hopefully I will pass my ASVAB this 2024. I’m very excited to join the Army❤
Good luck. You’re going to do great!
You got it and own it.
I remember running through those woods for family day. Best choice I ever made.
My drill sergeants at Fort Leonarad Wood Missouri yelled a lot back in 1969.

He just told us Drill Sergeants didn't cuss, do Drill Sargeants use sarcasm?
These questions sound like u.s. civialins fear a man call the "DRILL SARGERNT"🤣
This was my first Sargent one of the funniest guys people you’ll ever meet would get us hella hyped
Hells yeah! That’s my DS right there!!
Idk how much has changed since 04 but the only thing he didn't lie about was the not caring part.
Trainees you have 5 seconds to toe the line!
No way Rowell was one of my basic drills from ft. Jackson. Dude is hilarious and a great drill sergeant.
Bless you guys, hopefully next time it’s not the desert 😂
THAT IS MY DRILL SERGEANT! FORT JACKSON A-CO 3/39TH! DS ROWELL THE BEST!
"YOU CAN HAVE ONE SCOOP AT THE SALAD BAR, BUT YOU GET UNLIMITED SCOOPS OF PT!"
“Earth, wind, and mother fuckin FIRE!”
It's sad that all these "what about my feelings " generation is making our soldiers weak. Give drill sg back thr power they had back just. The 80's
A co anyone? Lol
