Neither Sega, Capcom or nor anyone else at this point is being supported by buying Naomi at this point. The last game made for it was released in 2008. This is like saying you are supporting Sony by buying a used PS2 Game.
I just saw that your website is closed. I would need a super gun from you before I invest in the netboot kit. I have a very vanilla setup right now: Naomi v1 board with Capcom I/O board and a legit MvsC2 rom cartridge. I don't have a power supply because I need 2 (one for naomi and one for supergun). I'm really looking forward to when you open up shop again.
Thanks a lot for posting this video buddy, i was having trouble getting this up and running, but thanks to the very last photo you put on the video i am now enjoying the delights of the sega naomi netboot kit !!! :-) Thanks a lot !!!!
Jasen Hicks Just one more question if i may, when i try to switch to another game while playing a game i choose the new game and press send but the naomi doesn't re boot and start the new game, am i doing something wrong ? i would be gratefull if you can help please, Thanks. Forget this comment, Problem solved :-)
Around the 7 minute mark you talk about booting up to 4 naomi with a switch. Do you just use a hub for this or how do you configure a switch to do this? I have a linked pair of Initial d arcade machines I'd like to send what version of the game I want to boot with 1 device.
Hi I love it to this day My Naomi netboot kit, but i still have a little problem in some fighting games when the fight is over for ex in CvS when the fight is over, the winning sentences cant be seen, its all misspell out of sense. Is there a way to fix this?
What format does the rom on the compact flash need to be in? If the game is a cartridge and not a GD-rom like you show in this video, what does that file on the CF look like? I have a Original Wild Riders where the cart has died and was hoping to use this as an option to getting the game to run again. Thanks
Oops... I accidently erased my last comment. I have gone the google route and found 2 different versions of the null hex file . The only problem is my ROM burner isn't programming the chip properly. Either I got bad files, (one is 12K one is 6K... I'm not sure of the proper size of the file.) or my ROM burner doesn't seem to like those PIC chips very well...
Hi, nice and explicative vid! I searched to buy a power supply wire like yours in the video (Naomi to USB), but i need a 5V kind.. Could you have some to recommand or could you tell me where could i take power and what kind of connectors i will need??? Thks
So what all is needed to get this up and running? Naomi motherboard, netdimm board, Sega/CAPCOM I/O, and the netboot kit? Anything else needed to get this running with a supergun?
To NetBoot you need a strong power supply that supplies 3.3V. A supergun typically does 5, -5, and 12. The Capcom I/o can supply it under normal circumstances, games only, but the DIMM requires more current than the Capcom i/o can supply. So in addition to your Sag you will need a power supply dedicated to the Naomi.
Jasen Hicks so everything listed as well as say a Naomi power supply? I know the Naomi has to be a certain version, is it possible to upgrade any Naomi motherboard to the correct firmware? Also, do you still sell these?
hi there. I LOVE MY KIT! unfortunately my sd card was lost and would love some help writing a new one myself. I can't get past the expanding the partition step it corrupts my card. HELP PLEASE
Yes I was... I'm doing this on windows and I can't find a copy of partition wizard that works properly. The whole process is seemingly simple but it even stumped my Linux guy. Lol. Somehow I got a Bootable image written but when I expand the main fat32 partiton to use the whole card it either says that it cant or it will but then the pi refuses to boot. If someone made a little instruction guide for Windows it would be a huge help!
Cheers all, new batch of NETBOOT KITS being made available with updated PiForce Tools. Link here: www.jasenscustoms.com/sega-naomi-netboot-kit_p_13.html
+Jasen Hicks This is probably a very stupid question however: if I have a naomi 1 and i use the netbook kit, will I be able to play naomi 2 games like capcom vs snk2? I am very confused. thanks
Only if you have a Naomi 2 board. This will work with a Naomi 2 (keep in mind that the bios were Naomi 1 bios though, so if you want a new version let me know)
Alexander Smith - A lot. Naomi Net Dimm hardware isn’t easy to come by and they fetch a high premium. The Naomi isn’t terribly expensive but everything else needed to get it up and running ads up very quickly.
Clayton, not my software :-D It was a collaboration between TravistyOJ and others on the net. Actually, he may have just used some work from others and ported it to the Pi. I digress... check it out here: capane-us.github.io/piforcetools/#_=_
Jasen Hicks would it be possible to get the pin out of the USB plug? And which pin does what for power on the Naomi? Thanks. Unless you still sell the cables
Jensen, correct. I ran out of stock. I was thinking of bringing more in but the 20 kits I had took about 6 months to sell. I will be selling PICs and BIOSs and USB Power Cable Kits for the Pi here shortly.
loubilly I think TravistyOJ is doing another group buy of the NETBOOT Kit. Can't say if it will the same as mine with everything, but it should be a good start. I think he's on NEO-GEO.COM and KLOV.

My thoughts exactly
I've been fascinated on the hardware stuff on the arcade! Great vid,!
Thank you for posting this! I can't wait to hook my MvsC2 Naomi board.

Any chance of getting a kit now?

Diskoboy - I recommend just googling for it. I get mine preburned from my partner on this project.

Do you have any more of these available?
Does this saves high scores as well?
i have naomi+supergun+capcomio+netdimm when i power on then i have no signal video , any idea?

will the Paradise blue elf adapter work as a kick harness for the naomi system?
Is your website still good? I can't get there because my internet security is saying the site is trying to steal my data.
Where i can find the cn12 conector to Raspberry thank you

Unsure Diskoboy... I recommend contacting capane.us and see if they have any advice.

+Charlesdavid2009 Are you following the instructions from here: travistyoj.github.io/piforcetools/#_=_

One other thought: You must have BIOS F or higher to NETBOOT!
How much would that setup cost me as in a system like that
Alexander Smith - A lot. Naomi Net Dimm hardware isn’t easy to come by and they fetch a high premium. The Naomi isn’t terribly expensive but everything else needed to get it up and running ads up very quickly.
Yeah I actually get that
So what would be a cheaper option then
Alexander Smith - a Dreamcast.
Why a dreamcast
