No, in fact in this genre today this is best that I HAVE HEARD FOR YEARS and I listen a lot. If you give in an one song as much everything from heavy to ambient and all kinda of mix and almost perfect vocals... what else can you ask from a one song:P

I wasn't that fussed on The Void when it came out, but seeing them play it live, front row, Courtney singing in front of me, the crowd singing behind me.. it was a vibe. I've enjoyed it ever since.

It's a fucking 10/10 all the way through! That last chorus into the main riff as an outro with the soaring vocal on top. Holy shit!

I wish the higher octave she was using in it was the octave she would use in the first 2 choruses. Don't need to copy, paste it. But at least sang higher. Separates it from the verses more.
I think this song is the quintessential Spiritbox song. They showcase everything they do so well, in such a great package. Even the video is just *chef's kiss*.

The mara trio are my favorite by them by far. Then secret garden, mostly because Secret Garden is my 5 year old daughters favorite song and we JAM OUT to that song.

Something a lot of people may not appreciate is the first chord in the chorus, which has that minor sixth in it that makes it sound almost like a chord in inversion, and adds increased harmonic depth. That kind of writing reminds me of Walter Schreifels of Quicksand.

"Silk In The Strings" is a favorite for many, including myself. Some could argue that this is their best song to date, though. They crushed it with this single. Hyped for the new album.

I fully get and respect why you and some of the other reactors didn't get wowed by The Void. While personally I really enjoyed it (one of my favorite tracks of theirs), I agree that it's better suited as an album track.
But given the more optimistic and confident vibes and theme of the track, combined with them getting to settle more into being able to make Spiritbox their priority and absolutely THRIVE, I think it's the perfect single in theme and to signify that they're in a really good spot, and with some really good forward trajectory to boot.
It may not be the best foot forward as a debut single, but I think it's wonderful that the song they chose to drop first was the one that feels like them being celebratory and grateful for where they're at right now.
Totally agree with you! And I also think the release of The Void was probably intended as a snippet for the EP, if they already knew the EP was planned for November, it makes total sense for them to wait until now to drop the big catchy single with all the promo and video that comes with it.

The first time I heard that riff, I knew this song was going to be good
another banger, good to hear more new stuff from spiritbox. I wouldn't call it perfect personally, but that's just me. it's still spiritbox doing what they do best and at the end of the day, that's never a bad thing. kinda how I felt with ERRA's latest track as well, still gonna be on repeat for a while.

I absolutely love these tracks that just hit and do what you want them to do, but when Spiritbox takes creative risks it really works for me. Tracks like We Live in a Strange World really do something for me, especially within the context of an album filled with bangers like this. Its something I've seen many bands try to do and fail, but it seems like Spiritbox has it figured out.

The Void for me was such a good go with the flow song, and has made summer go by faster for me. But I definitely agree if they had dropped this first hand hype for the album would be higher earlier. But the hype is so there now!

It's a cool track, but honestly I enjoyed The Void a bit more, and I'll tell you why. This sounds like a Spiritbox song off their recent album, while the Void was a really fresh take on their sound. I absolutely love both tracks, but the Void still wins with it's originality)
