  • In the face of a changing climate, where seasons are rapidly becoming erratic and resources scarce, the people of Gopalpur emerge as a promising example of coexisting with wildlife and biodiversity conservation.
From the annual mass nesting of Olive Ridley turtles on Rushikulya’s coastal beaches to fostering Near Threatened Blackbucks in villages like Bhetnai, and providing sanctuary to peafowls in Pakadi hills, Gopalpur’s communities continue to ensure the safety of diverse wildlife in their area.
This film explores their resilience and determination to preserve wilderness, their resolve often supported by the Foundation through awareness campaigns, infrastructure, community engagement, and meaningful partnerships with the state forest department.
The programme Prayavaran Sarthi is enabled by Tata Steel Foundation in partnership with Kotak Mahindra Bank.
