LoL! The Euro Gran Fondo races are a different beast all together. Never underestimate the field, especially the 40+ masters. They ride as if they have nothing to lose. So kudo's for getting into that mix.
How did you go about stitching the data files with various parts of your video? Surely you didn't leave the camera on for the entirety of the ride right? I always had this problem with editing bike videos. So much work :D
I actually did have the camera on for the entire race. I used two cameras: I would turn on the second camera before the first ran out of juice, then swap batteries on the first, and then repeat the process again. Thankfully I only had to do it once this race due to DJI’s superb battery life 👍🏻👍🏻 But the problem with this was that perhaps the files were so long, I still had to check the gps location at different points in the race to ensure there wasn’t a time lag in the data vs recording. Not sure if you know what I mean 😂 It’s really no easy job to race and film 🥹🥹
Impressive man! How would you have raced this race differently now that you have done it and if you didn’t pick up the musette at the beginning, would it have been a different story? It’s crazy how there are riders out there with alu wheels racing at an international level 🫡
If I could do it again, I would have probably carried an extra bottle on me and skip the first feed zone, and maybe at the second feed zone have three bottles again and skip the last. But honestly, I don’t think it would have matter too much… probably would be able to follow the pack another 10-20km and I’d get dropped anyways… goes to show how it’s not about equipment but your skills and abilities!

香港根本好少地方可以練長落斜 但係歐洲唔同，所以Daryl已經好勁啦❤
歐洲有天時地利人和條件去促進單車運動… 冇辦法～
我覺得其實可以代表香港去參與呢種級別既比賽已經贏左，當然有得攞牌梗係更開心，但面對一眾怪物級既對手能夠生存到最後呢個都係一種成就👍🏻
