In mid 2020, I was struggling with a broken leg and long covid and felt isolated/alone and especially, did not know what to do with my Saturdays. Your show came into my life, rekindled my passion for the Wings and for hockey in general, and livened my weekends. I will miss this podcast, all your hard work, humor, and of course, your insights. You became a kind of extended family and felt you had something special in your hearts that you openly shared with us Wingnuts. I wish you well in your endeavors, gentlemen, success in every venture. Devon, you have been that endless tube of crazy glue that kept everything together for so long. I expect to hear your color commentary someday on Wing's broadcasts. Just hoping.
It is truly surreal to read this. We have always been aware that we are/were one of many DRW podcasts out there and the fact that anyone would latch onto ours like you did is almost too good to be true. It is because of people like you & Lord Venom that I have any sort of confidence putting myself and my thoughts in front of camera week after week. I can't thank you enough for that, and I sincerely hope you can find a new DRW community to be a part of.
💔 I've enjoyed listening to you guys. I started this past season, and have really loved listening to Devin, Evan, and Matthew. Best of luck in your futures.
A couple of years back, I was desperate for some summertime Red Wings content and stumbled upon this podcast and thoroughly enjoyed listening to the Grind Line for 2 years. Devin is outstanding, he offers great analysis, a great Red Wings mind, love his Grand Rapids connection as well. Devin, where can I find you in the future? Matthew and Devin, thank you for including my questions in some of your shows and giving me some shout outs. Thanks to all of you. It's a bit sad to see this end. Good luck to all of you.
I appreciate the kind words Dondon. It has been a pleasure talking Red Wings with you. As for where you can find me in the future, I'll have more news on that over the next week or so. Follow my socials if you aren't already, and be on the lookout - flying octopi is a common occurrence in Hockeytown 😉
First off great show as always. Love you guys! At first I was so excited to see Kyle and especially pat on since I know pat in real life and is one of the greatest people I have ever meet! Then Devin drops the tear jerker news at the end and I shed a few tears. I remember your first episode and haven’t missed one ever. You all have brought so many memories to the wings the last 4-5 years and am honored to have been apart of it. I wish you all the best of luck in your endeavors in life and hopefully you may throw a random podcast here or there. Either way thank you for everything you have done, the amazing times of laughter, the struggles of being a fan at times, your insight ect. Again love you all and best of luck to you all and as always….. LGRW!!!!!
This podcast and your posts, Lord Venom has helped define the last few years of Red Wings hockey for me. Perhaps we will find another Wingscast to hang out. I have worked long and strange hours the last year though, and have not been able to spend the time following the Wings as in the past. Have tried other podcasts, some of which I cannot stand. Will continue the search...
We debated dropping the news at the start of the show, but we ultimately didn't want that dark cloud looming over what was a fun episode. Sorry I had to drop a bomb like that 😅 In all seriousness, I can't thank you enough for your constant presence here in the comments section. It was so much fun talking about the Wings with you and I hope to see you again soon!
@@devinlittle6866 you’re most welcome. I found you on X so I’m sure I’ll see your posts there and keep in touch! I’ll stay subscribed to this channel and will def see if a podcast drops. Best of luck to you my friend
@@dondon130 buddy!!!! Thank you so much for the kind words. You too are knowledgeable! Always loved when your questions were picked for the comment corner. It was great reading your takes as well!
As much as I loved the crazy shopping last year they would have been in better shape if they'd gone with rookies. So we'd be stuck down where Montreal, Ottawa and Buffalo are. Listen, their young core all gained NHL Experience last year while ours were still in the AHL. The smart move is you take the lumps and bumps with the kids but you add NHL experience to your young core. Then add the veterans.
In my opinion, the state of the '24-'25 Red Wings is meh. I think they'll end up with somewhere around the 15th to 18th best record and either wiggle into the playoffs or else fall a wee bit short again. The defenseman group is pretty suspect, especially at RD, and the goalie glut needs to be sorted out. Three middle-of-the-pack guys isn't the answer to that question.

You're an excellent Red Wings fan, super knowledgeable, you have great analysis too. It was very interesting to listen to your takes on the Wings!

IMHO; draft = A, trades = B, coaching choices = C, free agency = D [only because of Kane, otherwise fail]

Berggren gets traded and hopefully packaged with Holl even if we retain half of Holls salary. Hopefully for an RHD.
Lol. Keep dreaming.
@@dukeford8893 well of course, hence the use of the word “hopefully” x2.

Yzerplan : Mostly Good trades , Good 1st rders , pathetic pick's after the 1st rd
He needs to fire Draper, guy is clueless
Big thanks for the show from a Red Wings fan from Down Under! Best wishes and hope the show can continue in the future as its been fun ❤
Thank you for the love and support!
