    My Father worked in the Ballingarry Mines, lovely to see

    My great great great grandfather, John McGrath worked in these mines in 1840. 3 of his children, came to Van Diemen's Land 9n 1850, orphans .. one of the children Julia McGrath age 12 was the mother of my grandmother born in Sydney 1887 and died 1955

    Some of the seams were high grade anthracite coal. Practically smokeless.

    .30-.40 is footage from a mine in Castlecomer.
