I love the grip of the silicone, but the bottoms on my last two have disintegrated over time. With the cutouts for charging and speakers it just seems to be too narrow and starts to crack/break off. I'd love a case that gives me the same grip for less money though. :)
Spigen, Otterbox, and Supcase all have cases with a Camera Control button cover similar to the Apple Silicone. Right now they’re limited to one or two offerings per brand, but certainly more will be coming.
Actually,it’s only OtterBox’s Lumen series that have the camera control button. All the rest have a gaping ugly cut-out on the side of the case. Not a good look.I usually go with their Symmetry series but I won’t be now.
Same here 😩 I’m looking to upgrade and usually always use a UAG case but they’re doing the same design, the cutout for the camera button.. might go with the silicon option for a bit..
Let’s hope Apple brings the leather cases back ASAP. leather is a byproduct of the food industry anyway so it’s not the environmental disaster they made out. Seems like virtue signalling to me.
@@baaaank I went and purchased the ultramarine from the apple store. It is not as saturated as the video, but I think it's perfect. It also has a nice texture.
Been faithfully using the Caudabe Sheath for nearly a decade but I never once used the action button on my 15 Pro because the case had a cutout that buried it. They fixed that this year but gave the camera button the same cutout treatment 🤦♂️ Given how finicky that camera button looks, and the fact that Apple has the sapphire bump, this will be the first year I put up with the Apple silicon case. Hoping Caudabe fix this next year. Guessing they’ll also need to lower the height of the case edges with the slimmer bezels.
I bought the Clay for the 15 Max and it just looked mouse gray. I switched to black which is a midnight blue color. The 16 cases will be just the same 🙈
A lot of cases for the 16 line up has done a big cut out for the camera control button. I usually get mous, but I hate the cut out they've done. But I love mous cases because they're very protective and I don't think these apple cases are very protective. But I like what they've done around the camera control button and I hope more companies do it. Probably next year. Apple have done it already for their cases as they already had the phone to work with
I am tempted with the Apple cases this year for the first time in ages as there are some awful implementations around the camera control on the 3rd party market. That said, why does the clear case still not cover the bottom of the phone 🤷🏼♂️ from what I remember these silicone cases have a strange feel to them.
Apparently the “camera control button cover” is a MFI thing. I’ve heard from a 3 party case maker that Apple takes $4 for each button cover. Might be other case makers that pays for the MFI button later. 😊
I can’t even I can’t so I have the 12 phone I love it still works well, the red is rather light color I have a tough case for it, the 16 is not my cup of tea the colors and overall design is still similar to my phone that has been paid off for a long time now, I’ve lost my way in upgrading I don’t see the want or need. For now
Correction, there ARE third party case companies that are already doing this but it’s not common. Supcase sells a case that completely covers the camera button but still retains full functionality.
Bull Street leather is my favorite follow by and are. I am curious to see how this works with the silicone cases because I do like the silicone cases and it makes a good every day case instead of something I would take it out I went to dinner or a function of some sort.
How do they old up for drop protection? My facoeit colour is yellow and glad they have it right at the beginning, the yellow color match well with the car I like too, Volvo EX30's Moss Yellow! 💛
I've always liked Apple's silicon cases. They feel nice in the hand, they don't slide around on surfaces, and they've got a nice clean look to them. But they tend to get beat up pretty easily and I end up having to replace them every year. For years I would only buy Apple cases because 3rd-party cases always felt cheap to me, but recently I am seeing some silicon cases from no-name sellers on Amazon that replicate the look and feel of Apple's cases very closely (except for the Apple logo). Currently I'm using a silicon case on my iPhone 13 that cost about $11 and have zero complaints. So I figure I will probably order the iPhone 16 with a genuine Apple case (leaning toward "denim" color), and then switch over to a no-name brand in a year or so when the Apple case breaks down.
Yes, all cases will though. They stop heat escaping and, being more absorbent, actually trap the heat like a jacket. Not a problem unless doing intense workloads or wireless charging
I’ve had an Apple silicone case on my 12 Pro Max for 4 years without a problem. At most, I can barely detect a little warmth during charging, and I mean little as in barely perceptible
Are you running a filter or applying a LUTs on this video? I ordered the Ultramarine. I got it. It looks absolutely nothing like the color of yours here. Not even in direct sunlight. I wish all the case manufacturers would by that camera control button that Apple uses in their cases and put that in their cases instead of doing a large gross cutout.
I don't get why Apple doesn't use that cactus leather that other companies have been using. Never have tried it, but it's an option for fake leather. I actually wish Apple would make slim cases that have drop protection like the Otterbox Symmetry.
The fine woven was fine, I still like it better than Apple’s silicone cases. The silicone cases get finger prints all over them the second you start handling them.
I have an Apple silicone case on my iPhone 15 Pro Max. I have dropped it a few times on tile flooring. The phone was fine, but the case has a couple of tiny chips in it, one on a corner and one on a side. I’d say it protected it very well since nothing happened to my screen. 😊
Why do a case review without actually having the iPhone 16? The biggest reason to watch a case review for this phone is to see how the case is with the new camera control button.
Of course 15 doesnt match 16 cases cuz the camera button but apple goes out of its way to squeeze more money every year by making this or that slightly off or different.
