It’s pretty clear they’re aiming to get rid of DMZ: removing it from systems, hiding the access to the game behind MW2, not fixing fun killing bugs. Sad, best game mode in COD in over a decade.
The way the rolled out the bo6 beta and you can't uninstall it and I had to re-download every content pack I previously downloaded, I won't touch COD again.

What is your source for Warzone still being directly connected to DMZ? They're two completely separate installations as of Warzone's update with the launch of MWIII. You can play either without the other. I know the whole CoD HQ thing confuses people, but it's just a pseudo launcher. MWII/DMZ and MWIII/Warzone/MWZ are completely separate programs being run on your system. No accidental changes are going to be made by updating the other. This was very likely a "gift" that was able to be given with CoD HQ's recent file rearranging and resizing. I say "gift" because the fix was already completed in MWIII/Warzone and didn't require any additional work. All that had to be done was implement it. Which is why it _could_ be done. The point you gave even goes to prove this further. The exploit was patched within days in MWIII and only now was it fixed in DMZ. To say that was accidental- the _one_ single greatest exploit terrorizing DMZ only _accidentally_ gets patched? Nothing else gets through? Not even weapon damage adjustments, or attachment values? Fat chance they fix Koschei or any under map/wall exploits though because that requires actual development time and when a game is in maintenance mode, they're really not looking to spend any additional resources on it.
you have to differentiate between client(game you run locally) and server fixes. dmz and wz still share server infrastructure it seems. underbarrel is a client side fix, while Koschei seems to be a serverside one. the same koschei glitch exists in mwz which makes me think it is serverside. it was basically a 'feature' against accidental disconnects during loading time to avoid players getting angry about lost gear. since mwz is more cooperative in nature there is less incentive to fix that one so no effort is put into it. client side fixes are more effort as no devs are actively working on the client side. if i had to guess the skeleton crew for dmz consists of a handful of infrastructure guys but no real devs. underbarrel was probably patchable on the client, but that also takes some effort for a new client build and regression testing the patch.
@@7frodo7 I briefly tried it, ttk time and the ping in Australia basically makes it unplayable (euro and us servers only at the moment). Also being a controller player trying to learn mnk didn't help.
not sure if its intentional, but putting it under mw2, that is not free to play like warzone, will have the negative side effect of new player not discovering it by accident like under wz. this will directly impact the player population. also, putting the free2play option behind private match is a wild design choice to me.
If they implicated walkie talkie in dmz it would probably takeover. Instead of proximity chat have it to were you can radio other squads to see what's up.

Im convinced that the devs add the glitch on purpose to the older consoles to get players to update them and buy the new consoles as it was affecting the majority of Xbox one players. I am willing to bet the glitch will be added back into season 5 either right away or right before bo6 comes online. I am very glad the under barrel glitch is fixed. That was insane.
I actually dont think this fix is related to Warzone changes at all. Im in a couple of Datamining discords that have cracked MW2 for a while (and that includes DMZ) from what i can tell looking at the code DMZ seams to be running on a snapshot of WZ2 (most of the MW2 code has been cracked not all of it, so these are only guesses) meaning that, for the most part DMZ is completly disconnected from WZ3. The thing was, everyone knew how to fix the underbarrel glitch: it was literally as easy as implementing the fix from MWZ/MW3 into DMZ since they run on the same engine. (IW9) there should be 0 compatibility issues between classes. Even implementing new gun should be as easy as just adding a new gun frame to the game (in DMZ) and than copy and pasting an MW3 weapon though since MW3 has some unique stats not present in MW2 it might actually not be a straight copy and paste, but close to it. Though than again MWZ borrowed alot of Classes from MW2. What i assume happned is that Activ said: ok please integrate DMZ to make it a MW2 gamemode. The devs said: alright. And some guy realized: hey this is still the old outdated Underbarrel trait... i wonder if... _tries out underbarrel glitch_ oh no... _tries implementing the new up to date version of the trait_ lets see... _bug fixed_ ah very nice _gets a final approval during mergin process_

Mergin in terms of coding means the implementation of your local development version to the global development version. Most projects will have two version a live and dev version. When you do your dev work you will pull a copy of the last stable dev version. You can proceed to work on that dev version that is save on your local PC without effecting the dev versions of your other colleges. (Sometimes you have branches of branches when a team works on one larger projects) When everyone did their part those offshoots are "Merged" into eachother. sometimes(almost always) conflicts will need to be resolved between the old and new versions and than that offshoot is in the dev version. Eventually when every dev version is done you submit that to QA and are basically already pulling another copy of that for bugfixes/future development. The beauty of OOP is that you can, theoretically, use any class like for example the "gunframework.class" (name imaginary idk what the exact name for the class was) than you give that class "traits" trait Reciever("M4"); trait Scope("Acog"); trait Underbarrel("Thermite"); and depending on the trades the "gun" has you have the attachments and stats. The traits go: RecieverTrait: Ok this->setAccuracy("20") Than the Scope Trait goes: ok this->changeAccuracy("+0.5"); and so on. What gun implements the traits dosnt matter they work the same for all of them. So fixing a bug in one would fix it for all guns across the board and it also cuts down on code doubling what, in theory, should cut down on filesize. P.s ofcourse this isnt actually how it works in cod, the cod code is much more complicated than that, im just giving an example here how OOP(Object Oriented Programming) works.

@@RobotsMakeMusic if you are more interested what i left out is that depending on the added traits the guns model is also adjusted and there are certain checks to prevent you from adding attachments. there are also seperated classes for the gun when you load with it in game, vs when you have it in the gunsmith. the really complicated stuff that im not super sure about myself how it works in detail yet is where the traits figure out if the attachment here has to use the alt or base camo texture. The camo texture is very confusing anyway because it "seams" like every camo has different resolutions already in the gamefiles. And i dont mean 1 normal 1 alt texture, i mean the same texture 3 times in different resolutions. (I assume this is for Texture quality setting? But why wouldnt you just use one texture and than scale it down in resultion... maybe thats to intense on the CPU/GPU?! I genuinly have no clue rn how that works exactly but the textures lowkey make up 30ish% of Cods Filesize, i wish i was joking. Models make up another 35%) Also credit where credit is due: the maps in MW2 and even MW3 from what i can tell from the limited Decoding of MW3 currently available are actually pretty well optimized Filesize wise. Seriously, the geometric data of a single MW2 map (textures not included just what spaces you can walk on, shoot through etc) is smaller than most high res textures in this game. For example: the entierty of Shipment (no textures) is 26 Megabite. MEGAbite. meanwhile the Cod HQ as a launcher by itself is 5GB. That means for every Cod HQ launcher you could have 190 shipment sized maps (without textures) and a bit to spare, take the same discspace on your harddrive. Also i cant speak on behalve of the server coding, we figured out the MW2 client side, not server side. I got no fing clue how MM works in detail and without getting my hand on the server binaries (what is probably illegal) i also probably will never know.
I went back to CoD, and ran into this glitch on my second day back. Fortunately for me, those guys were on my team. Yeah, two of them were using it. Unfortunately for another team, they picked a fight and downed them. I tried to keep the peace and get them up, but my cheating teammates kept interfering. I stepped away again for a while. I didn't want to end up on the receiving end of that.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Ricochet Anti Cheat no longer covers DMZ. I remember at one point getting coms banned for normal smack talk, and now you can curse like a sailor and say pretty hardcore stuff and nothing happens.

If I see people camping in a building or possibly baiting to push, I just assumed they have the one shot and play accordingly, keeping a bit of distance on the play if possible, or breaking plates first with drills etc This underbarrel fix at least puts the game in a slightly better spot though
I think they dont fix the ashika glitch, koschei glitch and nerf the 12 AR rounds on bryson 800 because they want this game to die. Otherwise they would do that easily

They add a bot shotgun 'doof' each season. Used to be they'd give you a break to turn/run whatever but now they doof til down

I was one of the players that was experiencing the extreme lag & packet bursts while playing DMZ. It was extremely challenging…and not in a good way.

The reason probably why it got fixed it because they moved the dmz mode from the warzone features to the mw2 mode options in the main menu
read the ‘Beta End User Agreement’. We literally are getting the finger from the devs. people need to band together and boycott COD. their greed will cost them the best of their customers.

Don't know about that my friend. I was lagged out of 3 games yesterday and also ran into a cheater using the underbarrel glitch.
Unfortunately, I just got steamrolled by a platoon using the underbarrel glitch. Since it's just the first day after the update maybe I just got unlucky

I couldn't load in because all of my missions were complete. I had to uncheck the completed missions to get to the matchmake screen. I didn't remember this being a thing

Packet burst and latency issues are worse for me on PC after the update.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Ricochet Anti Cheat no longer covers DMZ. I remember at one point getting coms banned for normal smack talk, and now you can curse like a sailor and say pretty hardcore stuff and nothing happens.

Solos can be dangerous too. I wipe squads as a solo constantly so idk why you're so against killing solo players😂

Never use them myself.
If I see people camping in a building or possibly baiting to push, I just assumed they have the one shot and play accordingly, keeping a bit of distance on the play if possible, or breaking plates first with drills etc
This underbarrel fix at least puts the game in a slightly better spot though

yeah, they need to indicate that on the launcher. while it was under warzone that was implicitly assumed since wz is free2play, now that it is under mwII it is not obvious anymore
