It amazes me how many Americans go to foreign countries and get angry that those countries don’t have American standards/customs/food/amenities etc. Not all but many.
Yes!!!!! Say it louder for the people in the back! It baffles me EVERYTIME they go all the way out to these countries pick up the men there and expect not only the men but the people around them to conform to American ways them get mad about when they don’t. Just insane! 😂😂😂😂

As an American, I don’t blame her. She was probably overwhelmed and experiencing cultural shock. I have also experienced it before. Sometimes you can’t help it. It’s normal. Same would happen to someone visiting the USA for the first time maybe. Except they would maybe feel overwhelmed by other things like how oily the food is or how the houses are made of wood instead of cement. India however is definitely more poor so she felt overwhelmed by the lack of rescources. And adjusting to a new country well highly depends on your host.

I'd be pissed if I was being bossed around, left out of the plans for the house I was going to live in and my wedding.... the whole family even talked crap about her which is just as bad or worse than her saying he was being a dick.

Arguing loudly with him, letting the family and neighbors hear it is comparable to her walking in and just shitting on the floor. Not having her voice be heard about the wedding, the house or even her daily life is emotional and mental abuse. The family is even participating in these things. If they want to have those beliefs that is fine but it is abuse to put that on her. When someone freaks out like that it is usually because of reactive abuse. Its when the victim finally freaks out and reaches their limit with their abuser(s). She had every right to be upset. Im real sick of people attacking her without even evaluating the whole situation. I say this as an autistic neurodivergent person with CPTSD from abuse going thru my childhood to adult.

Ifs a culture shock ask for things u need ie toilet paper etc .Tj is to blame for not understanding ur needs not telling you how things are done. If he'd gone to America it would have been difficult to adjust too .Jumping into a marriage 10 days after you get there not a good idea should stay and see if you can handle things then decide. I actually think the main issue was TJ not preparing you for the reality of what life would be like in india. and he even admitted it. he lied by omission then just expected you to be fine and adapt.
i think his mother takes pleasure in making you uncomfortable. his father, well, not much to say there.
his brother is just like you so it makes sense that you two would clash, but i think ultimately, you two will end up very close friends.
if i can suggest anything, tj needs to work on his independence from his family and being more open with you, and you need to work on your temper/empathy.

I also believe you should never go to bed angry ("don't let the sun go down on your anger" is what comes to mind). Personally, it makes me so sad and frustrated when things can't be resolved before moving onto the next day, so I totally get you! Its okay.
