A mad man's cycle. Defense training is by far the most demanding when it comes to patience but it has many advantages as you said... I'd be interested in trying this one day.
I’m coming to the end of an IM cycle (which ended up focusing on a pair of PDIMs) but not one that was very well planned. The main problems were that a) I wasted too much money on veteran mercs in a vain attempt to be semi-competitive well before time, and b) not having a clear plan on what half-baked players to buy and when Eg I only bought supernat/titanic wingers for the WBs and only a titanic Keeper (who I recently sold to stop my bank balance going into the red, as this is my primary club and if they were to fold, I’d lose everything) I’m pessimistic about the long term success of the build/team, but it started with two solid playmakers from my YA - one had no spec and the other is Powerful. The latter is possibly the crowning achievement of my 21yr+ HT career, as he had over a dozen caps for U21 Oceania and has already started playing for the senior NT before his 29th birthday. I have another guy training with him who I bought at the request of the NT scout (now NT head coach). I’m looking at 18++ PM and 15 Def, with maybe a little more passing than strictly needed. But to have a YP go through the U21 program and now into the NT is immensely satisfying!! The def training part is truly tedious and I wish I’d done it the other way around (I did PM to 15/16 then Def to 15 and I’m now back on PM) … would that I could send this video to myself 4yrs ago…
It's always tough to see that the overall team plan wasn't executed or planned well enough. I have given up on a HT team once over this to be honest. At least you have identified the two main problems. It must be a nice consolation to have had a HG NT player as a result now however. That is why I want to get DEF out of the way fast even in a less extreme cycle. The patience will also be tested, when it comes to holding back with the spending later in the cycle for sure. I would have liked this video for myself in the past too. 😉
It's about half a season if you prefer an unpredictable keeper to get some of the passing. If you add the keeper at 26 he will we behind his goal of titanic(15) defense.
I mean, after going over the plan, and especially the potential end product, it does actually seem quite potent. The 100+ weeks of defense however. 🤯 Honestly, I am contemplating if I should do this with my third team.
@@mfaulkie it would indeed be interesting to experiment with a third team. I'm also considering the idea of creating a full CA team to streamline the 100 weeks. However, such a team would require additional focus on passing and recruiting quick players. While I'm uncertain about the viability of a perfect CA team, I believe it could offer a fun and unique experience worth exploring!
I agree. I was thinking about this as I was looking up requirements for the players. I did look over the requirements for CA-CDs. You could build an extreme CA team if you do the whole cycle around it. It could be fun, but as you say. If the opponent knows you always play CA it will be a downside. But sure could be a fun variation!
Good job my man! I think one time we have discussed about this topic. It’s really interesting and different from the other cycles. It might be worth. By the way, I wanted to ask you, I have noticing that I have less and less youth players with specialties , is this a fruit of an update ? Let me know your thoughts
Thanks for watching! About specs in the youth academy. I am sure it's just variance, they would announce such a change. I would be very surprised if they didn't at least.
Welcome! Bold choice if you are brand new 😀 For the core end players I suggest one PDIM and two to three CDs. You could train similar players in the time before you add the half baked players.
I get you. In all honesty it comes down to the level of your league. Hopefully it may be possible to compete at the age of 28. But, again it's all depending on the situation.
Even if i'm personally not that fond of this specific idea i must say the video is very graphically pleasing, props to you for the editing ! :)
Thanks for watching! I know this is a extreme approach. Glad you like the video in that regard :)

Me too. I think. It looks good on paper, I think. But 100+ weeks of defense is a lot!
Perfect timing, this vid what i need right now 😁
🇵🇭
Perfect. You are in for a crazy ride :) Thanks for watching!

I am doing this whith my second team. Focusing on WB and add CD,PDIM,GK and a MM/SP Player as half baked.
Serious business! Hopefully your build will be very successful 🤞
Q: is the half baked goalie added at age 24 to accommodate a UP spec? Would it make more sense to wait until 26yo after switching to def training?

@@mfaulkie ok, at least I know that variance could be the main factor. Hope I pick more interesting profiles to the NT.
100 weeks of defense training, u gonna have some next level patience.
Indeed I know of a few that are in the process of it.
@@mfaulkie i think i will stick to my wing/im cycle :P but love exploring more ideas and back engenering high end players.
Hey @mfaulkie, im new to the game and i want to do this plan. With how many CD should i start? 2 CD and 1 PDIM or what do you suggest?

🍗
Could do with a drumstick 😋
Why increasing stamina 27yo already? Why you wont want to maximise your players skills until to 29-30yo, then stamina up and enjoy 😎

What is it with the Northern people, bro looks like 23yo here
Hahahaha.
