Just added the G4 doorbell and U100 lock. Once the necessities are complete I can get to the convenience automations. Looks awesome, can’t wait to automate my house.
@@TechWithBrett if the outlet is connecting to GFI at the panel directly to that circuit then you are ok, but best practice is to put the GFI at the outlet as it’s an instant disconnect. But nevertheless, I still like the automations!
How are you able to get a manual light switch to work with that T2 sensor? Does the light have to stay in the on position all the time? What happens if you turn it off and cut power via the light switch?
So the T2 makes it so the mechanical switch will work in either position so sometimes the switch might be opposite of what it typically is but the T2 always has power. Ever since I have installed the door sensor and the FP2 automation no one has needed to touch the switch. More on the T2 here: ruclips.net/video/ToJHXnb9BR8/видео.html
If you need to automate 2 switches next to each other that are single pole this works great. It can be used with one being a 3-way switch it is just more complicated. But if you already have a smart switch style you like it might be easier to stick with those.
They do but you will need to have them all incorporated into the Google Home or Alexa app first. So the Sensor is connected to the Aqara Hub and then it is linked to Alexa. Then you link Kasa to Alexa and then you can create an Alexa Routine to have them work together. Or the same thing if you use Google.
The main reason would be the price and placement location. With the motion sensor you can put it anywhere where the FP2 you need to run power. Yes, once connected to the Aqara Hub, then you can connect these to Alexa routines.
I just picked up the presence sensor for black Friday, cant wait to set it up. Just curious if you have any idea when Aqara is releasing their new ceiling light fixture with the RGB ring? Looking to swap out my upstairs hall fixture with that and then add the motion sensor I've purchased to control it.
Good question. The devices that support Zigbee should be able to link directly with SmartThings and the other devices that are Matter compatible can be linked to the Aqara Hub and then integrated into SmartThings.
@@TechWithBrett Hi, thanks for the quick response, I know that Zigbee will connect to ST but in case the presence sensor v2, the new one, if I will connect it to ST, I'm not sure there is a driver for it, but even if it has , I dont think all the features that available in aqara for this device exist in ST
could somebody point me to a good guide for setting up scenes and automation with Aqara devices? i have my devices installed but looking for some tutorials
While I use Apple HomeKit for this very reason, now that Matter is a universally accepted platform, mixing brand should not matter (pun intended) anymore.

@@TechWithBrett lol hey I’m watching your video right now on Aqara fp2. Listen. I need that for stairwells but I’m not sure if the zoning goes as far as three dimensions or is it only planar? (Single flat floors)

Really nice video. Good pace. Clear explanations.
Very cool setup, but for safety purposes, you may want to put a GFI outlet under your sink just in case of you have a water leak.
I'm not an electrician, but from what I understand any outlets that are added downstream from a GFCI are protected as well.

Did they already discontinue the P1 motion sensor?
Dude, thanks for the device information… going to get me some .
It was fun to put together a few different combo ideas. There are a lot of possibilities.
At this point u can throw a rave house party. 🎉
I think that's the ultimate goal.
This is awesome. Would the sensors work with other strips like Govee?
Yep! You will just need to link the Aqara Hub to your preferred smart home platform and then you can use routines to control your other devices there.
Can you add the sensors to smartthings without the aqara hub?
Can I ask where you got those metal poles for the shelving in the pantry?
They are actually just wooden dowels painted white.
@@TechWithBrett well it looks slick man. Nice job
Fantastic video!

Will Aqara sensors work with other brands? For example, the Aqara sensor turns on Kasa lights. Thank you

Why would I want to use motion detection as opposed to presence detection? Can these devices and automations be included in Alexa routines?

Awesome! I'll have to check but I haven't heard anything. It possibly might show up around CES in January.
would you use the aqara hub with Smartthings hub together? I have the smartthings hub at home

Do you have an affiliate link for the aqara hub?
Here is the M2: amzn.to/3ReTS83 (affiliate)

Yes it will.

This video is my most in depth on creating Aqara routines. Is there any place that you are stuck or need help with?
My problem is that only Aqara devices are present in the Aqara app. So I can't automate a different brand of lamp depending on the ambient brightness.
While I use Apple HomeKit for this very reason, now that Matter is a universally accepted platform, mixing brand should not matter (pun intended) anymore.
Can’t find the Aqara Motion Sensor P1 anywhere. Anyone else run into this issue?
Interesting. I'll see if I can find more info.
damn is there a single tech channel that aqara didn't sponsor for black friday?

Highly abnormal to have power outlet undersink cabinets
I put it there but it does need to be GFCI protected.
