He is right about Amex. I have an Amex every day card. Started with a 10K limit. Within a year they bumped it up to 33K. Then I changed jobs where I was able to use my personal card for business expenses and they re-imburse me. (think mega rewards points) I wanted to keep my business expenses separate from my personal finances so I called Amex and I got the Delta Platinum card. They started me off with a 20K limit and did not even pull my credit. Pretty amazing.

Great Video Brian, thanks. One small detail IMO you didn't mention or emphasize enough is the fact that requesting limit increases usually involves a "Hard Inquiry" that can effect one's credit score, even though it is considered a "Low Impact" on your overall score. this category can remain on your record up to two years. Also, if you have let's say nine or more of these Hard Inquiries, it can raise red flags. Just a thought, thanks again for a great video!!!
Navy Federal has been most generous, and I’ve their Flagship card. Started with an initial limit of $7.5k, and about two years later I’m at $35k. American Express follows with an initial $1k two years ago with the Blue Magnet. I now have both the Gold and Platinum personal cards with spending power of about $20k. I paid my bills on time, occasionally carried a limit, and only request increases every six months.
I should say... A strategy I’ve found helpful is mentioning that I never let my utilization on individual cards exceed 10 percent. Mentioning that has occasionally turned a “no” into a yes. Since my payment and credit history show that it helps. I then mention that a low limit prevents me from making a purchase. That one-two punch - along with the previously mentioned - helps a lot... An annual income of $145k is a boon too.

phillip mulligan that’s because AMEX is a charge card not a credit card. You HAVE to pay it off at the end of every month. If you have no incoming coming in, how do you plan it pay it off? AMEX did the right thing IMO.

I had two cards with 12k and 15k limits cancel them with 10 + years of perfect payments and the others keep lowering the limits every time i reach a thousand dollars less. I’m pissed to say the least
Making only the min payment on your balances is an automatic disqualifier for limit increases no matter how impeccable your on time payment history is for however long..... also 4 or more hard Inquiries is an automatic rejection for new cards and other types of funding, no matter how high your score is.
The answer is simple... 1 you must have a larger income and assets. 2 you had to have great credit score and 3 your debt must be payed off on time or early.
The amount of people “bragging” about their credit limit is absolutely horrendous. Stop using credit cards and pay with what you have. If you don’t have it you can’t afford it. America has a spending problem. Get outta debt and start thinking about the days you retire. You wanna have all this debt then too?? Ask rich people how they got rich. It wasn’t through debt.
Josh Key They have the most debt only difference is they’re using it to bring in residual income. It’s called good debt. Look it up they acquire assets with credit. The poor minded wouldn’t understand.
Ray 2wavy ther is literally nothing good about debt. All you are is a slave to the people you owe money. Saying it’s good debt is idiotic. Your asking broke people how thy make money and guess what. There broke. They life paycheck to paycheck. Stop keeping up with the Jones. There broke. Maybe you should take a listen to Dave Ramsey. It would do you some good about the myth of good debt. Which is false.

This is fine and dandy and all IF you have no blemishes on your credit report BUT even with a PERFECT 100% payment history and NEVER being late on a car payment or credit card or loan, I am still fighting to get minimal increases. Discover card I've had for 5 years, I get $200 a year increase. I'm ALMOST to $2000 limit. NEVER a missed payment or been late and I try to keep a $0 balance and always pay them off fast. Capitol One card I have had for over a year, same thing. After a year they approved me for a $250 increase from $500-$750 limit. Reason is I've had Verizon and Sprint tagging along for over 10 years from creditor to creditor on my report from when I was swapping companies back in the day and they would "pay your bill to switch" which turned out to be a total lie. And even though I make $100k a year and have a PERFECT payment history, they ALWAYS tell me, even for car and house loans, about those 2 cell phone collections and it hindering my credit. It's insane honestly. And people just say to pay off the $2500 in cell phone collections but why when it wasn't my fault they racked up so high and I had to fight the companies to try and drop the charges? Not into throwing money away and I WONT do that. But yeah, I agree that your vid is perfect for those with no blemishes on their reports. For some of us though, it doesn't work so well lol.
I got a best buy credit card with a 4k limit. My stupid ass wanted a nintendo switch. I got it. Financed it for 12 mo. Did that with a gaming PC. Did that with a lot of things. Maxed out my card. Took me 1.5 years to get back on top. I actually sold my switch last month to finish paying it off. Made a lot of mistakes, and I spent money I did not have. I recently have also refinance my car. Consolidated my credit cards and am turning over a new financial leaf. Next step is to stop eating out so much:)
I love this guys advice on how to get credit line increases "Have good credit". Excellent advice. Its just funny how "having good credit" often comes down to the crapshoot that life is sometimes. Some of us have parents who stole thousands of dollars from us and maxed out a credit card. Some of us have parents who bought us our first house. Sometimes you blow a transmission and need to charge it, then get laid off after 4 years. Its just all a matter of perspective and basically, luck. Be born into a shitty situation? Well, screw you. Thats life I guess. Be put in a position to fail from the moment you turn 18? Oh well. Just hey "Have good credit".
This is a great video. Having good credit, though, can definitely boil down to what life has thrown at you...divorce, a lay-off, having to take a medical leave from work etc...I noticed that in the begjnning of the video, the guy mentioned that having good credit is having self - control. That's simply not always the case. Sometimes LIFE happens...forcing you to re-build...
Found your channel recently and this is the first video I hear you mention Navy Federal. Do you have more insights you could share about them and their cards?
Hmmm, was expecting to hear something new. I can’t figure out why capital one won’t give me a bigger limit on my oldest card (12 years of use with 2k limit). 750 Fico, 100k+ income my other cards have 16k+ limits. I would cancel it but it’s my oldest credit cars. Only thing I can think of is because I hardly use it,but I hardly use it because the limit is soo low.
Yes Cc companies love people w good self control. They hate people that carry a balance. You heard it first here in my comment. Remember everything on internet is 1000% true. Do the math...
I know it's off topic but could you make a video on how medical bills impact your credit score and can you get denied for a credit card if you have unpaid medical bills?

I have a 23k limit in between my 7 CC, my goal is to reach 10K on each to have 70K in limit. Why? Because I want old man credit lol
I told AMEX that we had been laid off at work 10 years ago. American Express cancelled me. Always be careful what you tell them. By the way on the spot cancelled right after I spoke the words lay off after 20 years no problems with us.
phillip mulligan that’s because AMEX is a charge card not a credit card. You HAVE to pay it off at the end of every month. If you have no incoming coming in, how do you plan it pay it off? AMEX did the right thing IMO.
@@tonyt3281 not every AMEX is a charge card. The blue cash & cash card are credit cards.
Thanks maxline am glad I came to you 🥰
I need help 😢 on my credit.
Brian, you did not give any info on how to increase your credit limit. You just said why someone should get an increase.
Exactly
Bro it’s because of you, I’ve went fr a 6k credit limit to a 18k credit limit in 6 months w/ Amex. In 6 months, I requested a triple increase and I was immediately granted. I also have a personal savings account as well as a blue business plus credit card w/ Amex. Thanks Again, Mann! Whenever you get a chance, I would love for you to do a breakdown video of Amex blue business plus cc.
Good for you bro. I asked for an increase cl I WAS DENIED. YHEN I TRIED GETING A LOWE APR ALSO DENIED BY AMEX WAS LIKE OK I GUESS I WILL STOP USING AMEX. I HVE HAD THAT CASH REWARDS BLUE CARD FOR OVER 3 YEARS.
Jesus F. - What was the credit limit you currently have, and how much increased you’ve asked? Were u steadily on time for 6 months?
@@BrJD-ii4iv $10,000 currently. Yes i ha enever been late on my account. Yer i was still denied.

I applied for a chase sapphire card and was instantly denied 😂🙃
What was your score?
it has a $550 annual fee, fuhhh all that
@@Enkies the reserve card does. The sapphire has a $99
@@twdjt6245 not good lol.
If you have or know someone with a Costco membership, you can apply for a citi Costco Visa card. They give them out to anyone pretty much. The rewards are good. Or try the discover it cash back card, they have been known to give those things out too. 0 annual fee on both, if you don’t count the Costco annual membership
Credit companies are reducing limits due to Covid 19 😔. Yes, thats with great pay history and credit!

I had two cards with 12k and 15k limits cancel them with 10 + years of perfect payments and the others keep lowering the limits every time i reach a thousand dollars less. I’m pissed to say the least
Ain't no way I'm gonna apply for the chase sapphire reserve 😂 that annual fee is more then my annual car insurance lmao
Seriously
300 annual credit
@@thelostone777 it's up to $550.
What car do you drive? You must not live in Cali for sure
My Annual Car insurance is about $1700
Making only the min payment on your balances is an automatic disqualifier for limit increases no matter how impeccable your on time payment history is for however long..... also 4 or more hard Inquiries is an automatic rejection for new cards and other types of funding, no matter how high your score is.
Just remember that a business credit card goes by your personal credit history! They also usually require proof of income.
Absolutely not true at all
The answer is simple... 1 you must have a larger income and assets. 2 you had to have great credit score and 3 your debt must be payed off on time or early.
Having a “financial advisor” teach you how to increase your credit limit is like a “personal trainer” teaching someone to eat donuts.
You're an idiot.
legit subscribed cuz i loved the ending song lol but the content is also good thx man
The amount of people “bragging” about their credit limit is absolutely horrendous.
Navy federal cards are the Goat o was approved for two cards $20,000 each.. The best!!
Chase business preferred 26500

What's your business reported annual rev? I only have 10k but i've had the card for 4 months and mine is 40k revenue right now. Thanks!
Thank you for the video first of all good information Capital one has been my card however, I am in the rebuilding stage of my credit history so therefore I have to be patient regarding increases. Again thank you.
My first credit card I got a year ago was the Navy Federal Rewards card, $20,000 CL. Was before I knew how to play the game but I still only used for gas and groceries because that was highest rewards. Good thing Im responsible because I feel like I was set up for failure with a $20,000 on my first Credit Card.
Lestat Staton now you can use it for public transit and dining with 3X for both
🤦♂️ they gave me 8k in 2012 I’m still paying this stupid card off.
Dont blame the card if you spent money you didnt have.
@@RosteeveBellier hell nah man 😂.... i got a navy fed of 10K... i ran it *UP* 😈 .
I stopped paying after a year, its falling off my credit record soon 😂
@@NAT-turners-Revenge did you sign up online or in person
LMAO at 1:24 (Run Off With The Money)
🏃🏾♂️💨 ran off on the plug ..
I have a problem with American Express' annual fees..so i've been a bit hesitant to get one. My other cards serve me just as well and no annual fees
There are AMEX cards with no annual fees.
Never had credit, applied for a credit card at wellsfargo, got accepted the next day and was given a limit of 4000$
💳🔝🆙
i had to raise my balances just so i could do all my spending on the cards rather than a debit card

You speak so beautifully....
Haha thank you
thank you guys
I subscribed because I like the way you speak. Lol.
Great tips Brian, will definitely be putting some of these into practice!
Awesome!
I love this guys advice on how to get credit line increases
"Have good credit".
You shouldn’t have to use credit for emergencies if you save for them. You obviously don’t put money up and live check to check.
Your video is so good, hope you get better and better
Found your channel recently and this is the first video I hear you mention Navy Federal. Do you have more insights you could share about them and their cards?
Hmmm, was expecting to hear something new. I can’t figure out why capital one won’t give me a bigger limit on my oldest card (12 years of use with 2k limit). 750 Fico, 100k+ income my other cards have 16k+ limits. I would cancel it but it’s my oldest credit cars. Only thing I can think of is because I hardly use it,but I hardly use it because the limit is soo low.
Very informative, clear, and concise.
Out of that 10,000 you can only use 500 to keep it responsible.
Hay brain I really love your vids they are really awsome I always come to watch I just want you to know I appreciate your time and effort
Hey George I really appreciate this comment man. Thank you.
No problem bro
I really thought you were talking to yourself since you said "brain" and not "Brian"
Yes Cc companies love people w good self control. They hate people that carry a balance. You heard it first here in my comment. Remember everything on internet is 1000% true. Do the math...
This has been very great information. Thank you very much
could u make a video on which bank is the best to bank with and eventually get a credit card with them
I know it's off topic but could you make a video on how medical bills impact your credit score and can you get denied for a credit card if you have unpaid medical bills?
Hey I am 34 yrs old and I have over 100k in available credit on my CC. It took me yrs to increase my cards etc... it takes time!
Bummer, my cards are so new that I cant get credit limit increases... so I just signed up for another card. I guess that's one way, but I gotta be careful because now my average age of credit account went down.
Any luck bro? How’d it go?
