This song fits them so well, and I feel like it were from Dan's perspective... Especially with the lines "We were something don't you think so?... And if my wishes came true, it would've been you..." Based on what we saw from the build up, Dan truly loved Blair, he wrote a whole book about her for 5 FREAKING YEARS, which means he probably had some hidden feelings for her for a while... They were both their best when they were together... If they were gonna break them up, I wish they would've at least done it in a way that made sense and that was appropriate for the characters, even if Blair went back to Chuck, it was so stupid that out of nowhere they were not even friends anymore and that Blair went back to referring him and treating him as the "outsider", when her character was not like that at all anymore, and they just snapped back to that out of nowhere... As well as that incredibly stupid moment of Dan just up and sleeping with Serena out of fucking nowhere as well... Just bullshit, after the character development they both had, they would've never done that, but the writers just decided to do a major fuck you to the characters and audience... Such a shame...

And the way Dan looks at her, like he knows he’s lucky and ways to be at her side because they truly are each other. Ugh, should have been endgame. They did both characters and their growth injustice to have them end up the way they did.

If they needed Chuck to end up with someone it should have been Eva, what he did for her he would have never done for Blair. The hotel thing shouldn’t have happened and if Blair and Chuck ended in a more “satisfying” way the fans of them wouldn’t have been so influential on the writers (in my opinion) It was the way they ended and the need for more from them that made me want them back together. But I wish they just ended better and without the whole hotel thing. Cause having them end back then and close the possibility of them ever getting back together would have been better. Like they could have just been friends

I stopped watching the show tright before the S5 finale because they shouldn't have put dair together if they weren't endgame. it was clearly just a clown fiesta after, and judging by the gossip girl reveal that I read about after, all of the characters were despicable and awful people anyway, so ... I think I made a good choice.
