I preferred the other Urban/HH stations before this switch, and that probably won't change. My favorite is probably Streetz 94.5

I just freaking found out about this switch TODAY (4/16)!! I had gotten into my car and tune to 96.1. They were playing The Beat (Urban) that was on WRDG. So, I flipped over to that station and it was Power (CHR). 105.3 is more fuzzy at where I’m from. This definitely caught me off guard.

I think the fuzziness will later ease off as time goes on. Power 96-1 rebranded themselves as Power 105.3

It was way better when that channel was a rock station
now the beat station broadcast live in Downtown Atlanta
Power is still able to be heard in Atlanta, it will just be weaker north and east of Atlanta,
I like how they didn't acknowledge the switchover...at least they did a near-bookend by playing Party Rock Anthem
Less a near bookend, rather a straight-up one. Yes, they did that hour of jockless music before they launched Power, but for all intents and purposes, Party Rock Anthem ultimately started and ended the format, officially.
What’s next? 92.1 the Beat WHBT flipping to BIN 92.1?
They should just flip 105.3 back to Alt or CHR
@@FN32DXer CHR is the most likely since Audacy's WNVZ isn't a true CHR station, it's more rhythmic
@@FN32DXerNot enough room for X to have an alt competitor (not to mention market demographics). And the last few attempts at a Mainstream CHR in the market have failed - I don’t see anyone trying to take on Z’s turf anytime soon.
