Leslie West was a guitarist and vocalist known as the King of Tone for his massive beautiful guitar sound. Mountain is one of the greatest Rock groups that ever did it!!!
And Felix Pappalardi (bass), who also produced records for super groups like Cream and others. Because their set wasn't included in the movie, many folks are unaware that Mountain performed at Woodstock (1969)!
Dude, the Caddies had curb feelers on them back in those days! It's so great to see this music touching the souls of a whole new generation, insuring it's continuation. Rock on!
Nothing but love. Keep up the good work! Love Mountain and especially this song. The thing about being 71 is that it's a trip when being alive when these hits hit!
The version off their Twin Peaks album live from Osaka Japan has some pretty mean guitar licks on it, it begs to be Cranked super loud which I've done at 3 o'clock in the morning with the window wide open 😮
The new music sucks. That's why most reaction channels are doing old "Classic Rock", Motown, and other music from the 50's 60's and 70's. God Luck on the channel folks.
Hi guys, marijuana is legal here in my state not a drug. Not being mean but I don't like to be categorized as a druggy. Be like saying anyone who has a drink is an alcoholic. Much love
I love you guys. For hearing this for the first time, your reaction(visual) and comments are spot on! It's true, the music makes the head nod a little and a smile is involuntary. New York is home of Leslie West, so Philly is close. I watched you listen to Never in my Life once again your reaction was spot on to the tune. Glad it does what it do. Thank you, you are a credit to your thing you both are doing! It's great to have some solid rock in a playlist and these 2 songs are solid examples to consider. Great show and it brings a smile. Good on you both.
I saw Leslie West either in Mountain or as a solo band 19 times from 1973 to 2003 and he was a big part of the power and glory that was Rock and Rock in the 60s and 70s. This band could jam like no one else and are worth pursuing. Try Nantucket Sleighride live and see what I mean. Great guitarist! Enjoy. 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
An absolute banger of a song! Mountain was good band and most folks are suprised they're from Long Island, NY. This embodied a real soulful southern rock vibe! They captured it!
The song doesn't have a southern rock vibe; it's just blues-based hard rock. Back in the day, wasn't surprised in the least to find Mountain hailed from New York. Bands from all over the country played hard rock in that period. It's probably just as likely the title of the song and the lyrical content led some listeners to make some incorrect assumptions.
@@quoilluminentur2981 Possibly. What I meant was that the song fits right into what people want to listen to (if blues-based hard rock is a better description for it, then so be it). I know bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd & Molly Hatchett came out after and the term Southern Rock got more associated with them. With Mountain, drummer Corky Laing was actually from Canada. So yeah, you could be from anywhere as long as you were good. Nazareth fit in with this style or genre also and they were even from Scotland.
This power rock and a new Blues style should be hitting the airwaves hard as our beautiful nation is in a great deal of pain ... At least old school Country has stepped-up to the plate! Come on Rock and Soul, bring it on home!
Very amazing song to react to. Leslie West was incredibly talented. And if you like reacting to any genre, that is nobody else business but your own. I enjoy all of your reactions. I was watching you react to Janis Joplin and I literally cried right along with you. So say screw off to the people who hate on you. I think you and your girlfriend and fantastic doing these.🤘🤘💗💗🤘🤘
Several bars, aka juke joints, have discouraged playing this because so many women of a certain age have broken their hips attempting to dance on the table like they used to do.

"Is it loud enough"? No. The answer is always, "no" when it is Mississippi Queen. Mr. West was well known to blow out his share of amps.
Oh, and GREAT idea including the live version from 1970!!
The late great Leslie West.

Love to see younger people appreciating older music.

Best guitar riff EVER!!!!

This record's label said, "This record was meant to be played LOUD!"

Awesome song choice 🤘
Leslie West did some good stuff, add a V8, Torque Twister Super Mag 60's, Gabriel hi jackers, Doug headers, and bullets with exhaust dumps.

Mountain was one of my favorites. My new favorite is the family band Liliac. You need to hear them bro.
blaze one up its all good brother
🙋🏼♀️👍🇬🇧
It was said that Mountain was so heavy they could turn the air into cottage cheese.
We will turn it up for ya. Rick could use a puff, wink wink nod nod.
LILIAC will blow your mind.
Will you listen to BTO "Let It Ride" ? Don't look just listen...lol ,😉
She moved better on wine❤
Well said brother
Why would you click on a video of an artist you don't like I don't get it
👌🏻
Very tight guitar
"Dixie Chicken" from Little Feat would be the perfect follow-up for this number
By reacting I would prefer someone to take in the music, to Listen ....... not make faces like a child..... just a heads up....
Jews that rock.
Wayyyy to much talk.... I finally gave up wanting to hear the song and moved on to a different artist.
Over 7 minutes of talking???
❤️🤣🤣🤣🤣😘😘😘
Sus?
I can't forget your horrific politics. I'm out
What'd I miss?
Not loud enough? Mine goes to 11... (Look it up if you don't "get it".) 😆
