His voicing in the fourth movement is just so incredible. All the beautiful inner voices come to life.

Això és música bona. Schubert és genial. Per mi, és el millor després de Brahms. Però per mi crec que aquesta joia és un regal per les orelles. Després de sentir coses com aquesta ningú pot dir música al reggaeton

It was his Schubert favourite sonate. Richter played very slowly, with a total duration of 45' instead of the usual 35' of most interprets. This is specially noticeable in the initial cantabile, with a mayestatic and solemn aura that I have never found elsewhere.

Richter understood how to use silence. Players who interpret the piece in this way lose the supreme beauty of silence. It's like they are bolting down a meal, whereas Richter savours each delicious mouthful. I wonder whose interpretation the composer would have preferred. ruclips.net/video/gcei2nCYbNs/видео.html

chrish12345 indeed this is very long so is the entire sonata. Almost impossible control and focus is needed to keep this going.

And Sir Andras manages it incredibly well. While extended, the movement, and the sonata as a whole are under complete control. Form is everything, and Schiff is a master at limning Schubert's structures.

@@levim.3505 and of course you know his famous B-flat first movement, which is agonizingly unending
