I have new found respect for this young man. Our language isn't something to play around with. It's sacred and have deep rooted history, pain and liberation and should be respected !
Went tonight with my husband, my kids and their friends. We all loved the movie and walked out singing and celebrating this timeless artist and his message.
I grew up on Bob Marley and always appreciated his music. While watching the movie and each time the songs played, I jammed to it. It's hard not to, lol. I will be seeing this movie many more times.
Just seen the movie, Kingsley was great, excellent performance. Lashana did not disappoint at all, SUPREB, she did justice to The Honorable 👑Queen MRS Rita Marley.💝
Yes Kingsley, thank you for respecting our language,I time and space for everything, you not it's not a play thing, thank you let keep it jamming. Love you bro❤
I still remeber him from One Nig&t In Miami when he played Malcolm X. He did an Oscar worthy performance. Excellent....excellent...excellent. I'll never forget that movie.
Kingsley did an amazing job. He really bought the role to life again. It felt like Bob Marley was still here. I grew up on Bob Marley and always loved and appreciated his music. Still do! The entire film bought back so much nostalgia, and it was very heartwarming. It's not east for a non Jamaican to speak patois or understand it. But much respect to him for taking months to learn, and he had the Marley's to help him. Ziggy was on the set each day. The entire film was heart warming, I will be seeing it again and again. #Rastafarai #JahBless #OneLove 🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳
Yes because he was really pulling that accent off really good it made me more excited to see the movie more and he's a good actor it's amazing I'm watching the movie now today
As an African, strongly attached to Bob's heritage, I wanna say thank you to CBS Mornings co-hosts Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson for perpetuating the memory of this LEGEND of ours.
Going watching one love in 2 hour's and I can't wait to watch this long waited 🎬 much respect to you Kingsley ❤️ 👌 ............. ........................................update what an absolute brilliant film I loved it that much that it brought tears to my eye's in a good way though the music just hit the core of my very soul that I was dancing in my seat lol thank you so much Kingsley you've just brought it all back and for that I Thank-you but most of all I Thank-you the one and only legend bob marley 💓 💝
Not Gayle blatantly pointing out that he’s not Jamaican…. 🙄 His accent progressed throughout the movie. Kingsley, you did what you had to do and came through!!! 🥳👏🏽💫🌹
I loved how he quickly told them there wouldn't be any patois being spoken because it's sacred. Way to respect the culture! Also, why didn't he mention his Trini heritage? He may not be Jamaican but his heritage is in the islands.
I like how professional and respectful he is to the Jamaican patois as a British actor. Americans don’t know how to respect other people language/ culture, they take it for a joke. She just wanted him to speak patois so they can laugh- disgusting behavior
Yeah... just watched this movie and at first couldn't quite correlate the more rugged, manly handsomeness of Bob with this pretty, boyish faced actor ..but as the film progressed and the songs came through and he carried on with his solid portrayal of character traits that bought the strength that truly roots humbleness to bear- I found his pretty and less chiselled face less distracting and began seeing him more as Bob the gift of spirit encased within the body of a man ... this young man bought his craft ro bear - he was not playing and he did his ting ! That 'Salassie is the Chapel' tune just cemented everyting- as it literally washed over my soul - fantastic collaboration on this movie which did not disappoint - leaving me both uplifted in remembering what Bob gave and sad for the shortness of life that was God's undoubted gift...🙏🏽
People are always going to find something wrong with the film. Bob's wife and family liked it. Thats all that matters. Watch the video again without judging
None on these kinds of show hosts have the depth to interview serious actors about a meaningful film that depicted the life of one of the greatest artists of our time. Late night comedians are far better at this. If Gayle really “got” the Marleys and the culture, she wouldn’t have asked that “how ‘bout you drop a liDDle patwah for us before yah go, huh?” question. She doesn’t get it. Anyway, Bob Marley’s spirit really lives on in such a beautiful and powerful way. The grace, the honor, and the class that Kingsley applied to this role is so appreciated by Jamaicans. We loved everyone’s part in the film, and EVERYONE’S part-in front of, and behind the camera. ✨🙏🏾✨🇯🇲🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥✨
Jah & Jahes love. I LOVED the question about the dreadlocks. I kinda thought that he grew dreads. But, I'm glad to learn the truth. Blessed love.#1804#Ayiti#ToutMounseMoun#AbolishCPS#AbolishPoverty#DefundFosterCare#ProChoice#RawVeganforLife#HRES40NOW#220YearsFREE
Gayle don't mind being ignorant for her "job"..What a waste ,she literally asked him to mock Bob Marley on national TV..when she could have ask such an intelligent man for so much more..
It is a dialect. There is no rules governing spelling. There is no standard. Someone from St.Elizabeth or Westmoreland doesn't speak patios the same as someone from the ghettos of Kingston.
Time Will Tell documentary is much more inspiring than the movie and for those that don't know, Rita Marley has hurt many with her deceitful actions and theft of money. The kabal is real.
Nah, stop it , Ben Adir didn't bring The legendary Bob Marley to the big screen as you guys would like to propagate , The truth is , Bob Marley brought Ben Adir to the big screens ok??
So true i was lookin for this comment Gayle was so cold after he said he was respectful enough to not imitated the legendary Bob Marley’s voice I respect that !!
He VERY RARELY could give corresponding chemistry to Lashana or even to the kids. A terrible casting choice. He was disconnected - ESPECIALLY in the scene were he sang "Redemption Song" to the kids. He couldn't connect with his co-characrers. Underwhelming performance
There is no Jamaican professionally trained actor at the moment who has 1% resemblance of Bob Marley. It's a Paramount pictures movie not some independent low budget movie. It was a White English man who played as Mohatma Ghandi not an Indian, too. Edris Elba is a black British not a South African but he played as Nelson Mandela. Al Pacino, a white American of Italian ancestry played a brown skinned Cuban refugee turned drug dealer in Scarface. The best actor got the part.
A white American playing a brown skinned Cuban refugee called Tony Montana in Scarface, a white English man played Mahatma Gandhi not an Indian. It's called ' acting' . The best actor got the part.
I am sick of hearing about Kingsley Ben-Adir and this movie. I don't care for Reggie music and this British actor is over-rated. He shouldn't played Malcom X and President Obama. American black actors should have been given these roles.
Good for him for respecting the language and not doing it on demand.
TRIED TO SET THE BRUTHA UP #RESPECT DUE 👑
yea the request was weird lol
Jamaican born and raised here, and I started seeing Kingsley in the start of the movie and saw Bob at the end. He was EXCELLENT!
He do him big one right!
I cried entire whole movie I hope he gets a Oscar
What a beautiful thing to say about the language and not doing it on command! Huge respect to you Sir.
I have new found respect for this young man. Our language isn't something to play around with. It's sacred and have deep rooted history, pain and liberation and should be respected !
I agree !!! I loved how she shut them down!!!
Went tonight with my husband, my kids and their friends. We all loved the movie and walked out singing and celebrating this timeless artist and his message.

WOOOWWWW I love that he respects the language and alluded to not wanting to make a mockery of it.
Yes! I love that too.
I can't unsee him being Bob and sitting there without the Dreadlocks... He really brought Bob Marley back to life.💜💜💜
Just seen the movie, Kingsley was great, excellent performance. Lashana did not disappoint at all, SUPREB, she did justice to The Honorable
👑Queen MRS Rita Marley.💝
Great job Kingsley!!!!! You did an awesome job portraying Bob.
It's a language.
Ppl need to stop belittling our heritage!
I love how Kingsley wasn't treating Bob Marley's patois as a Parlor Game, like "speak pig latin." Bob Marley was a man. #Bravo
RESPECT💯🇯🇲 💚💛❤ thank you Kingsley 🇯🇲
I love that he refused to do the Jamaican accent for Gayle King. She didn’t expect that. Lol!
Thank you Kingsley for not allowing them to term Bob into character!!!
Awesome portrayal of Bob Marley!😊
Yes Kingsley, thank you for respecting our language,I time and space for everything, you not it's not a play thing, thank you let keep it jamming. Love you bro❤

He was off the chain good. I love Bob Marley and Ziggy. This guy was so so good.

I just saw this movie and he has the Jamaican accent just right. Was really surprised that he pulled it off.
I loved how he quickly told them there wouldn't be any patois being spoken because it's sacred. Way to respect the culture! Also, why didn't he mention his Trini heritage? He may not be Jamaican but his heritage is in the islands.
Fanastic performance by him and the rita actress she was fablous

🇯🇲❤🇯🇲❤️🇯🇲❤️ loved the movie!!
I like how professional and respectful he is to the Jamaican patois as a British actor. Americans don’t know how to respect other people language/ culture, they take it for a joke. She just wanted him to speak patois so they can laugh- disgusting behavior
Oh, calm down...
Loved the movie Kingsley and Lashanna deserve an Oscar nomination for there acting
I hope that the movie does well. 😊
He Nailed It !!!!! Great Job Kingsley.

Thank you sir, thank you for respecting the language that people for years have tried to look down on and mock.
What a gent, going tonight, one love
Great movie❤
Much respect for u bradda,salute
When Gayle said "He's played everybody" whew she wasn't lying😂
People are always going to find something wrong with the film. Bob's wife and family liked it. Thats all that matters. Watch the video again without judging
Can’t wait to see it❤️
Let the Acadamy reward this movie as it shows Bob's infectious humanity !! The reward will be to all human not to Bob only !
RESPECT! Our dialect and language is not for entertainment. Much respect Kingsley 🇯🇲✊🏾🖤💚💛 (Gail 😒).
Gayle should ashamed of herself for that final question. The audacity 😒
That snake Gayle is crazy. How could she ask Kingsley to do the accent of Bob 😓
Kingsley declined it.

Waiting da second part of one love as waiting
You may have had a speech challenge but you portrayed him well.
I wanted to see the movie but I couldn’t get a seat yesterday.
It was a great interview Gail.
Gayle don't mind being ignorant for her "job"..What a waste ,she literally asked him to mock Bob Marley on national TV..when she could have ask such an intelligent man for so much more..
❤️💛💚🖤
Glad he didn’t do the language just because…#respect…
Wait a minute - didn’t he play the coroner on the British detective mystery, Vera? That’s all I know about him lol! But he was a good coroner.
…Yea he good in my book
It is a language. The uptown community just wants to pretend that it isn't.
It is a dialect. There is no rules governing spelling. There is no standard. Someone from St.Elizabeth or Westmoreland doesn't speak patios the same as someone from the ghettos of Kingston.
Full.time.jamaica to wake up.we Sleeping to.long Now
Time Will Tell documentary is much more inspiring than the movie and for those that don't know, Rita Marley has hurt many with her deceitful actions and theft of money. The kabal is real.
They look delicious stuffed into that dress. Thank you Gail
damn he sits like Obama too~! still has his mannerisms
I didn’t like the vibe of this interview. The hosts seemed stiff .
My Bwoy better Lookg as Bob. Lk 2 Dif ppl. Myb Mk-Up. I Dnt Know.
These idiots never touch on the film and ask the right questions. What a terrible set of interviewers. 😵💫
That hostess needs more makeup. Lots more.
They should have used a true Jamaican, I dont care what they say.
🎉he. Played. Barak. Obama. Really??
He doesn't sing or dance but Bob Marley did* needs my computer design advance work to the actors acting work on Bob Marley*
These bad impersonations really need to stop
Nah, stop it , Ben Adir didn't bring The legendary Bob Marley to the big screen as you guys would like to propagate ,
The truth is , Bob Marley brought Ben Adir to the big screens ok??
They should’ve made him grow out his hair and add hair for locks I don’t like his wig
So true i was lookin for this comment
Gayle was so cold after he said he was respectful enough to not imitated the legendary Bob Marley’s voice
I respect that !!
He didn’t have a wig he had loc extensions
No bald head can play Bob.
This whole interview felt like a set up.
He VERY RARELY could give corresponding chemistry to Lashana or even to the kids. A terrible casting choice. He was disconnected - ESPECIALLY in the scene were he sang "Redemption Song" to the kids. He couldn't connect with his co-characrers. Underwhelming performance
Why couldn't the role have been given to a Jamaican? I dont get it
His wife ok the film, so who are we? His wife wanted him, that's all that matters.
Why
His family had options and they chose.Who are YOU to tell Bobs wife and son what they should have to do.
@ChantalsCitizenshipMarriage It's their choice. This is just my opinion.

A bald head playing Bob.
So?
A white American playing a brown skinned Cuban refugee called Tony Montana in Scarface, a white English man played Mahatma Gandhi not an Indian. It's called ' acting' . The best actor got the part.

Nobody ask u any 🦀 the world cares 😂😂😂😂😂
First of all Kingsley Ben Adir is an ACTOR thats what he does play roles😮
Nobody cares how you feel
So don’t watch this or anything with him in it. Can’t be too sick of it. 😅
@@ChantalsCitizenshipMarriage Apparently, you do because you responded.
