    Huge thank for such an awesome video! And all the ones which came out before! Truly helps a lot! Preparing for the tournament on may25th, still gotta lose 12 pounds to get into 160 class. Can’t wait to compete, and place first, even if there will be a mountain against me, I’ll move it, I’ll break it! Once I started working with Ivan Dobrorezov half a year ago(great coach form Russia) my hook got so much better, really looking forward to crashing the pro class, well I’ll definitely do my best. But sometimes still get a bit confused between all the hook technique, ve been watching Matushenko, Babaev, Hoffz pulling a lot, look pretty similar, but definitely feel there is some difference in their approaches. So, I’ll keep trying to imitate their styles on the practice table and see what fits me best. And once again, thank you for absolutely everything! Can’t wait to get back down to Florida and see you all!❤️🔥💪🏆🥇

  • @livingit8425
    @livingit8425 Месяц назад

    I kind of have the opposite, I have torn something in the bottom of my wrist (i dont know what exactly) and now i can only low cup and hook and lost the ability to post and high cup entirely

    Great video! Can you do a video on advanced posting toproll. In finding myself losing my pronation at the start. Not sure which pronation technique I should spend more time improving. Thanks

    • @wristwrestling
      @wristwrestling 3 месяца назад +2

      Are you getting hooked? Because if someone is taking your pronation while you post when they hook you, that is normal. You should lowhand toproll instead in that situation

    • @bradgrundy512
      @bradgrundy512  3 месяца назад +2

      sure 👍, that's a pretty common problem high hand top rollers have. I've been able to defend against hookers without committing to a low hand so hopefully it'll work for u to

      @@bradgrundy512I appreciate it! I have short arms so low hand toproll doesn't make sense. As a posting toproller should I focus mainly on pronation through thumb training? Or hit all positions on hand?

    I am low cup dominant, but I also tore my UCL. It’s better than it was. Any advice for strengthening that connection? For that reason I’m been working on my rise and radial side of my wrist/cup as you described.

    How do you find pushing your thumb in to lock pronation as opposed to keeping it out - how do the two influence your ability to cup?

    • @bradgrundy512
      @bradgrundy512  2 месяца назад +2

      My buddy daniel price loves pushing in his thumb to lock his pronator on his left hand. I prefer not to lock my pronator and use my shoulder to set my pronation in the setup and focus on rising. So for me I prefer to keep my thumb straightish. When you push your thumb in and bend the nail you use your fingertips more so unless you have a bigger hand it can be detrimental to cupping imo. The way I have my thumb i can keep the force in my hand and not my fingertips. There are more factors that play a part but thats the general idea.

      @@bradgrundy512 thank you! I've pushed in for as long as I remember but I'll give it a try. I do think there's an impact on rising - I'll have to experience it myself.

    I’m a lowhand and posting toproll guy, but got some kind of weakness against good pure posting toprollers. Do you think I should develop a deep hook against them (as I usually have better arm against these people) or what improvement can I focus on my training besides rising and high cupping?

    • @bradgrundy512
      @bradgrundy512  2 месяца назад +1

      Honeslty I dont know enough about you to say. I personally believe that unless you also have a natural well developed hook that you should develop your toproll to beat other toprollers. Beating other toprollers who have a similar length arm is going to revolve alot around establishing height in the setup and making sure the back of your elbow is always on the pad. So Instead on top of training high cup I would get a band and practice becoming comfortable having your arm straight up and down without lowering your shoulder.

    nice, could you maybe spend some more time on the second type of cupping you talked about? For those with injuries like you mentioned. I'm naturally inclined to cup the first way and it's really strong, but I tore my TFCC long time ago and it's not consistent in applying that power I naturally have in all the varied angles and forces you encounter while armwrestling. Trying to transition into more of the second type of cupping you mentioned but would appreciate more detail. Thank you
