This week the van life adventure around Ireland continues, well, for one of us anyway! This is what solo female van life in Ireland looks like when there's an incoming storm and you're sick. It completely changes the plans, but, me and AJ the campervan dog find some nice free wild camping spots where we can even let our van cat out and about. Travelling in a van with pets can be tricky, add in sickness and some good old Irish bad weather and it gets that little bit harder!
Sleeve bloom mountains was a nice surprise and I discover a great place for overnight camping in a van with water, showers, electric and waste disposal, it's almost like Ireland has its own little camping aires!

Thank you for making such a huge effort with the video when being so obviously sick Lou. And thank you for not going to the pub. Man flu doesn’t come with a rasping cough, and colds don’t cause hallucinations or delirium. COVID is absolutely rife in Ireland right now, especially Dublin. Everyone, and I do mean everyone I know has had it in last couple of weeks. Please take care, especially on the roads, and open Fanny’s windows to let whatever virus it is out to speed up recovery and lessen chances of long term issues. 💜💜
Are you sure it's covid though? I had a bad cold, (looks like I'm getting another straight after too) - but I was surprised to test negative. I was thinking about it from a coronavirus pov! The poor little buggers other than covid have been edged out for 2/3 years - could it be that they are having a revenge comeback?

The channel is now becoming the youtube version of a fine wine. It just gets better and better. I felt proper sad you were ill Louise but glad you are better now and back together after Em's bimble abroad. Half my family come from County Clare and its always been a dream of mine to explore the old country. The nearest I got was a day in Dublin a few years ago. Great to have stumbled upon your channel ladies. Love how down to earth you guys are, and love how much you are loving my home country of Ireland. You are in for some fantastic breathtakingly beautiful scenery opportunities the more you carry on the Atlantic way. Hope you find a lovely little home for yourselves somewhere in your budget. It's one of my dreams to do something similar to you guys, maybe someday. If you are in Dublin again be sure to visit the International bar. Drinks are cheap, great restaurants nearby and generally free music and comedy available especially early in the week. I'm hooked now and look forward to more of forthcoming videos. Those man flu's can really take you out. I hope Emily didn't get it. Those were lovely park ups and trails. Our cat bites his dad to wake him for breakfast. After 25 years we have separate bedrooms as I am like you Lou. Once I am awake I am up. I also suffer from anxiety. He can get up and go right back to sleep. Not me. I joke but I am sure he could sleep on a picket fence. Emily, I am glad you enjoyed Spain. ❤

Brilliant video as always , your filming and editing skills are amazing , it must take an eternity to put together such a brilliant vlog together . Keep up the good work and enjoy your tour of Ireland it’s a beautiful country, we’ve visited loads of times with both our caravan and motorhome and never tire of the gorgeous walks , stunning views and the absolutely lovely Irish people who make you so welcome.
She has gotten a lot quicker at it now but yeah it takes a fair few hours/days for sure 🙂
Fantastic video - really enjoyed watching this.- thankyou! I have so much respect for you being able to do all that whilst being poorly too! During the pandemic my partner and I both caught covid in our van and were sick one after the other. Talk about cabin fever, lol! Animals at 4am argghh thats the reason im catching up on all your vids now as last year ...your summer our winter...we got two puppies and one kitten. We have 4 dogs and 9 cats..so those early wake ups were horrendous. Now they sleep for ages phew!!! And i feel so bad when sick so well done for still getting out of bed xxx ❤
I don't know how Emily can do such a thing as to leave you. mind you I bet it was hard work for her to sit in the sun all day and drink cocktails, be waited on hand and foot and then have to try and sleep in all that hot weather. I reckon she'll need another holiday to get over this one. Glad she's back with you again though Lou, I'm always glad to see my other half, when we have to do things seperately for a couple of days. (don't tell her though or she'll be calling me daft or something similar,( wink )).

Used to also be woken at 4 a.m. by our 2 small dogs. Got an automatic feeder to give them 1/2 breakfast (just kibble - fed them wet food after waking later) and just love sleeping normal hours now! Hoping the cold is long gone now and glad to see you both back in Ireland!

Honestly, the look on poor Louise's face while battling winds to walk AJ as sick as she was... definitely earn combat points there! Meanwhile, Emily is sunning herself by a pool! But, now she's back in Fanny and all is right with the world. Louise, hope you recover nicely and soon! 🤗

Feeling your pain, just had my first cold in over 4yrs, I was so poorly I did a covid test, which was negative. It took 3 days till I felt human again.😊
When it comes to waking up and going back to sleep I am so with you Lou, and my husband is like Emily, it's so annoying isn't it?! x

I just left Ireland this week, after 6 weeks of solo vanlife all around the island. It was great ! As a good bye gift, I got some virus too… No idea what it is, did not go to the doctor or anything but yep, looks like there’s some epidemic flu/cold going on. You too Have a nice safe journey through beautiful Ireland ! Hi from France !

I had such a great time there, I wish I could be there again right now. Do not forget to go see the fairies. But be careful, it’s quite dangerous : When visiting an enchanted park in Cork, weirdly : I have lost my minivan’s key. I suspect the gnomes to have played a bad trick. on me. But when I was desperate and wondering how I’d do, the fairies must have talked on my behalf and I got to find my keys after a while. Someone had taken it to the nearest service station. Do not miss Lough Lyne in co Cork either. And there are a few things to know about it, that is kept a little secret too…
@@MD-st4wi Yes, Lough Hyne is the only salt-water lake in the British Isles. Most lakes are fresh-water. If you want a truly memorable experience just go on a kayaking trip after dark on Lough Hyne. It is a famous excursion because the water is lit up with phospherence to create a surreal and magical experience as you glide through the water in the dark.
New subscriber, Love this channel. I was born in Gorey in County Wexford but have lived in Merseyside nr Liverpool since I was a baby but I love ireland, loads of family there so go back when I can but not enough. So much to see and do and the best place to do absolutely nothing. That Wicklow way you walked ends (or begins) in a place called Clonegal where my uncle has a lovely traditional Irish pub called Osborne’s. Obviously thoroughly recommend a visit 😊.

Good to know your both chilling out even if one has a cold and the other is intoxicated. Loved when you you topped up with water Emily was nearby . Loved the outtake one for a Christmas collection. Also Dublin was a fantastic break for me after a breakup would go back anytime.

Loving this series. Lou we suddenly realised we had done that walk along the river under that bridge its beautiful. We had our honeymoon over there 2006 and fell in love with the place, enjoy ❤

The Waterways Ireland card works at all their sites along the canals and river Shannon.
Their toilet blocks are usually open to all during the day, and you use the card from 6pm 'till 8am.
Using the card for toilets dosen't use any units from the card's total.

Waterways Ireland cards are used in waterways service blocks, found in many places along the Irish waterways. They’re also used for lock passage, on the Shannon-Erne waterway, but that won’t concern you.
It might be worthwhile getting hold of a waterways guide, or navigation guide, which will show you the locations of service blocks.
Services vary from location to location, but all offer toilets and showers. Most have Elsan facilities, for chemical or composting toilet emptying. Some have laundry facilities, which work out extremely cheap, using the waterways cards, compared to other cash operated ones.
Probably not relevant to you, but most mooring points have a pump out for a sewage tank, if you use a wet toilet in the RV. It’s provided for the boats, so not always reachable by road, but if it can be reached, once again, the waterways card operates it and it’s not expensive.
One thing to be aware of, some of the car parks, at tourist amenity areas, have signs up prohibiting camper vans. Usually, though not always, that will be because there’s a local commercial camper/caravan park and they don’t appreciate people “taking the mickey” blocking up car parks rather than pay for a berth.
Enjoy your Irish trip. Sorry to hear you caught a dose, but that comes with the territory in late September.
Don’t worry about getting in the wrong lane, particularly around ports and airports. We’re used to that and if you stop, with your indicator on, someone will stop and let you in.
Thanks for the aerial shot of Lowtown Marina. It’s looking brilliant. Can’t wait to see where else you get to. I’m a boat fanatic, so I try to holiday afloat, here. It will be interesting to see a road based nomadic holiday in my country. I haven’t tried that yet.
Thanks, love all the info. Yeah we get that, as a rule if there is a paying aire/camping spot/site we will use it currently in one that’s 5euros to park, use the toilet and empty, little extra for showers but it’s lovely 😀

I've had a positive covid reading for 11 day's now and it's no joke looking after 3 cats & a dog while feeling poorly, while the other half is cycling the Normandly beach landings.
