For those who don't know, the gameplay is inspired by the classic JP arcade "Gals Panic" translated into a third-person shooter with stat progression, etc. It's been on my watch since I first saw its trailer last year. Glad to know NP had a blast.
Now to decide whether I should get it on the Switch or PS4.

This game is on sale right now for $4 instead of the usual $40. It looked cute, so I decided to watch this review. I am sold. Not sure when I'll play it, but for $4, it's in the backlog now. I needed more Switch games anyway

I'm just getting to the fourth region, and si far I am enjoying it a lot. It's a little repetitive, but the gameplay loop is definitely fun enough that I can just turn my brain off and have fun. I have been playing a lot of strategy stuff the past like year, so I've really been looking for something simpler and action packed. The story so far is interesting, and the individual dungeons are just carbon copies essentially, but the mini stories within them are engaging enough. The art and style is very nice, and even the UI is super stylish. Good music, too. 6/10 rating is fair in my opinion, but I might rate it a little higher when i finish, but depends on how the late game plays out.@Mr.Freethinker2024

I only bought this game because a friend brought it to my attention and there was a super attractive anime boy on the cover. (Gay, love my grey or blond haired anime boys.) I usually despise shooters and real-time battles, but I decided to give it a try all the same.
I started it and hated the first three levels until the game clicked... and now I can say that it was easily one of my top games of 2021 (with Shin Megami Tensei V, Shadowverse: Champion's Battle, and Doki Doki Literature Club+). It was just a ton of fun from start to end and I played it every chance I got. The score on Metacritic, I believe is a 66, but this is one of the few games that I would consider playing again.
Glad to see someone give this little gem an 8.5/10.

I used to play very few shooters, but these shooter RPGs are right up my alley, been playing more and more shooters these days tho with plenty of shooters now with RPG mechanics, been playing a lot of western RPGish shooters with my new found love with looter shooters like outriders, the division 2 and tiny tinas wonderlands as well as straight up shooter RPGs like cyberpunk 2077, fallout 4 and the outer worlds, would love to play sword art online fatal bullet but the ps4 version still runs at 30fps on the ps5 and the low framerate gives me motion sickness
I love listening to trappin in japan or any screwed and chopped music while playing this game

looks like a combination of splatoon, and persona, art style wise.
From the previous game of this division, I honestly expected the worst from this game. But it seems I was wrong, and that's nice to see.

Looking forward to picking up my preorder tomorrow. I love the character designs, its refreshing to see beautiful anime women instead of the standard Abbys of western games. But as a person that enjoys basically all of Nisamerica's games this definitely looks like a winner.

PS4 Pro/PS5 support? Any frame rate/resolution notes? Trying to decide which platform to play on.
This was recording and reviewed using a PS5 so I guess it supports it. Not sure of the benefits
Unless there's any framerate issues (haven't seen that so probably not) the best version would be the switch because it has the contaminated edition which includes a soundtrack and art book and you can play it on the go (or on the toilet!). Otherwise if you don't want it physically with extras then I would say ps4 for trophies and most likely better performance.
Edit: I guess there is/was a limited ed. too on both ps4/switch.
Always play on your Playstation or Xbox. If max graphics is what you are aiming for.

Hey, what are the controls like? I recall the other titles from this developer strictly used handheld move with the joycons unless you disconnected them, but I'd rather not play like that.
Hey reviewer here, I played the PlayStation 4 version of this title, not the Switch version, sorry.
plays like a 3rd person shooter. move with left stick. aim with right stick. shoot with shoulder button. easy stuff

@@jettythesunfish doesn't matter which version as both have the same control style. it's not like the switch version has special joycon controls like motion
@@RaikaSTi That's the thing. Like I said, the previous titles from this developer kept to a strict handheld-only setting where you had to use the joycons to control the game. That is, unless you disconnected one of them. Then you could attach a pro controller. I don't want to have to deal with that, which is why I'm asking if it's possible to still play the game with the joycons attached and just have the pro controllers connected.

I'm finding it pretty unappealing. Looks like one of these trashy, low budget RPG style games from Japan.
