Watch how the new BMW F30 3-Series is manufactured from start to finish in Munich, Germany. For the i3 factory, click here: • BMW i3 Factory Product...
The perspective that people are missing is that those robots also supply jobs. They employ hundreds of thousands, if not millions of software engineers around the world. Those robots are also often made by hand in a shop, as well as tested, programmed, and set up at the desired factory by employees. They do take jobs, but they also make them.
also studies have shown that robots working together with humans improves productivity whereas robots alone reduce productivity as proven by Elon who couldn't make it work.
Thank you to the great workers of BMW in Munich for making my F30 2012 320d. Much appreciated!!! Had the opportunity to live there when I was younger but it was before I was a driver, I will return now I can drive there myself though :)
no idea how I ended up here but cool video. was really fun to watch and am thankful there isn't any music. the light ambient noise was a nice touch and made the video so enjoyable.
great video on demonstrating how to mass produces an body structure one designs for cars. I am wondering though about the pressing mold,casting,..etc machine that where not showing to create the body parts that the robot assemblies. Seems like this video assumes the parts are almost done for the body and shows from the robot putting them together to the end. I would like to see how the parts get create from scratch for an arbitrary new design of a car. The robots look general enough to place any part or weld any part in 3-space but wonder as for the parts themselves how general can the be for designs.
+trevenman So all those paint jobs on those "car shows" from discovery are useless? Or does a quality finish come with talent also? Interesting to know!
That would be because the thinner, lighter metal and frame has been engineered in a way that makes it just as rigid as the older, heavier version. This engineering and design is the most expensive part of production.
in Germany, buying a BMW is like buying a ford or dodge in the USA. Its only expensive for most of us in North America because of the importing costs. Im pretty sure these workers get paid really well.
They're still there, but instead of hand-building cars, they're now making sure the machines do a good job. The machines will build the car the same way every time. Hand built mass production cars (as opposed to coach-built, and really expensive) can have variable quality, depending on whether the men and women building your car have an off day. I really wouldn't want to buy a car where I'm not sure whether the guy who did the steering had a bad head cold.
In fact, this video is scary considering how many humans does not work anymore because of that robotisation. Because, in a world where you need a job to make money and buy things like food, robotisation is what it is, which is working for you without having to pay money per hour. I mean, the machine won't come to you and say: I want more money, I don't like to work with these guys, etc... You don't have to pay the machine each hour I can't repeat that enough... You just have to pay it once to create it, so unless we live in a world where everything is shared and free, it does not help us creating new jobs. So robotisation is nice... if everything is shared freely instead of using a money system with false value.
Back when BMW made good looking cars, good times...
Its mind-blowing how precise and efficient the robots and the workers are. wow.
Just bought an F30, and very exiting to watch how it's build!
Amazing factory!
Rasser-Aalborg just bought one too..
Is it still reliable?
I took a factory tour in Munich and was so impressed to see this in real life that I bought a BMW F30 as soon as I returned to Canada.
Anyone else think it’s kinda cute the way the painting robots open the door?
The BMW's production is incredible

Love it! As much as I loved my Lexus but BMW, Audi and Benz know how to make gorgeous luxury vehicles.

Wow, this is so amazing and impressive! Who would have imagined that this could happen! GOD BLESS GERMANY!

It is truly an artform to make something beautiful AND functional
Strange to think mine is going through this right now! So impressive the production line!
Thanks, Mcfly. I'll see you at the plant tomorrow.
A LOT OF PEOPLE WORKING THERE! AMAZING! MAYBE 10-20! WOOOOWW
am in love.. perfection at its best
In Life...You get what you pay for!!! So glad I own one of these solid built cars!
yay! i hope you love it! i really want one because the f30 is my new favorite bmw 3-series! bmw's are amazing!
Do you think that it would be possible to build an 90’s BMW now?
I could watch this for hours!
The technological innovation to create these machines, and to maintain and support them involves the creation of new jobs.
This looks like from an alien planet unbelievable!!
That's what people that can't afford these cars say...
It's worth the money. The quality is outstanding.
Boy that is a seriously automated factory!
Wow Amazing Video I hope to See more from you shortly!! I Can Tell you put time into The Video! Keep up the Amazing Videos!
oh look some metal.
15 minutes later
oh look some sexy
NormieMemes Boss gp
Notice how all the employees are dressed? Now go look at an American auto factory video. The Germans all look very professional.
in American factories they allow porno movies to be made to supplement their income.
Not all are that way.
That's why quality lacks with American cars
This is literally the only automated machine you want your 3er going through.
Imagina os engenheiros que criaram, uns gênios
I only wish I could have watched my 2015 , Isorial blue F30 ///M sport Being built I think I watched this twenty times.
truly a master race!
Very impressive! How much fuel do they put in the cars at the factory?
Those are some amazingly life-like robots around 3:50. :p
this car is beautiful
awesome technology
What it comes down to is that I trust BMW.
best 15 minutes of my life
waiting for my 335i to arrive. can't wait!
I'd buy one if I didn't already have a BMW :)
very cool! thanks for posting this

I thought the robots painting were humans in funny costumes at first....
+trevenman So all those paint jobs on those "car shows" from discovery are useless? Or does a quality finish come with talent also? Interesting to know!
Dermot Bowen the difference is 1 car, vs mass production. On mass production you want the least amount of variables.
Actually they have white robots and black robots
Scary those robots!
I know that. Is the M5 F10 the pinnacle of BMW technologies as performance and aspect also?
Simply awesome...
thanks guys!!! :)
what a cool product..
The human brain is just really incredible! What will we think of next?
Merci Mr.Robot !
This is art!
interesting to see it, it looks that body structure parts zinc coated before painting.
F30 ❤️♥️❤️😍🤩👏👏👏
Well, I am getting mine pretty soon! Pozdrav! ;-)
this video explains alot!
Which is the best ,the F30 or the M5?
All M3 are made at theRegensburg assembly plant in Germany.
one question: why workers do not wear helmets??? anyone know what the safety standards of BMW?? Thanks you.
Greetings from Peru!
Awesome.
Hey! Pre-LCI F30! Where’s my 340i M-Sport b58 ???
Incredible!!!
Úžasný dokument ...)
I also have one f30 car,and my f30 have android4.0 navigation system.it is very cool.
The antenna. Instead of having a straight up ugly wire, BMW makes it in this form - like a shark fin.
How is this car factory so quiet?
That would be because the thinner, lighter metal and frame has been engineered in a way that makes it just as rigid as the older, heavier version. This engineering and design is the most expensive part of production.
Perfektní podívaná a prožitek ...)
Awsome!!!!!!!!!
I also have it on mine, it's the radio antenna.
Now I know how my F30 was made
amazing German technology!!
Santa s workshop is in Germany!
i love the f30
Ist das Filmen im Werk nicht verboten?
Loved it, but... They basically skipped the manufacturing of the heart and muscles of that beautiful car, the engine and drive train!
They wouldn't show that! No car company would.. it's their only secret from the competitors!
And this is where babys come
in Germany, buying a BMW is like buying a ford or dodge in the USA. Its only expensive for most of us in North America because of the importing costs. Im pretty sure these workers get paid really well.
What's that thing on the roof of most BMWs at 9:20??????
impressive ...
Superbe !! Magnifique !!
Just got a 318d m sport and at least I know it's built the right way and that's the German way 👌🏽
my favorite car brand
Great video... makes me want to buy one even more so and ditch the audi
They're still there, but instead of hand-building cars, they're now making sure the machines do a good job.

It's like when your an adult and you can't believe you were so small as a child....car is just a shell when you start man 0.o
it's the antenna for the radio and gps.
Amazing
14:15 Am I watching the car drive itself off the line?!
Kaleb Reinhart holy shit
It's right hand drive. Lol
almost handmade right?
Is this at the Dingolfing plant?
No, 5 Series are built in Dingolfing. This video claims to be the Munich plant but the 4 Series are built there. The 3 Series are made in Regensburg.
perfection!!!
When & where did the fuel go in the tank???

stupid jobs are for robots or chinese people.
Someday, machines will buy machines. I just don't know with what money...
StuttgartHD
stupid job is for you
