To coincide with the announcement, Benjamin also shared its lead single ‘Genesis’ as well as its accompanying video. A ‘Part Two’ will follow next year and could prove to be his final album - he professes to be an artist whose music is only one element of his creative journey, most notable with his debut acting role as Herald of the Change in Denis Villeneuve’s multiple Oscar-winning film ‘Dune’. ‘And I Have Been’ continues Benjamin’s adventures as a singular artist who delivers style, poise and poetry in equal measure. His experimental and at times avant-garde approach to chamber pop and his enigmatic presence, velveteen baritone and literary streak defies simple categorization. Thematically, ‘And I Have Been’ is about the rich tapestry of life and its fiercely unpredictable journey, touching upon love, loss, marriage, children and depression. It’s also an expression of changing self-awareness. The supreme self-confidence of young adulthood soon gives way to uncertainty, and instead comes the acceptance that every day is there to learn from.

Perfect song to read the subjective forms of the clouds and to follow with a tender eye the grooves of the stems of the trees; appreciate the complex writing of the nested branches, taste the colors of the decomposition of light into water droplets in a garden, and strongly feel the wet soil of ancestral forest to perceive the traces of animals from deep past 🍍🌴
philippe...how beautifully you say things...i love benjamin ...thank you both, rosalind
@@rosalindkover9341Rosalind! The name in itself a poem
Mon Dieu...mais quel artiste exceptionnel !!!...Merci encore d'exister et de transmettre votre talent
What a gorgeous piece this is! So reminiscent of Erik Satie but with Benjamin's own artistic flair.
I’ve been impatiently waiting for more music Benjamin. I’m grateful for discovering you in in 2017.
Your gift is truly a GIFT to the world 🌍
О, Бенджаміне, як це чудово !
Wow!!! This album takes my breath away. Thank you so much Benjamin for sharing your gift with us. Peace.
🙏🏼🇧🇷
In a world filled with music made out of dirt your music is the diamond in it all
Its quite a swashbuckling comment. There are beautiful pieces of music amongst mainstream nonsense in relative equal measure. As is everything on the scales of life.
@@jamesfielden4935 I'm reffering to mumble rap as a creative and choreographer I have had to move from my usual taste to music like this hence my comment. Sorry it was not clear enough and swashbuckling
The melody, the title and the way that it is played, complete this work of genius. The emotion is so well captured.
i feel everything at the same time when i hear that you’re playing
Sheesh, this is lovely. So alive. Thank you!
At night i had a dream
I saw a man in a suite and tie
He stood so tall he reached the trees
I looked in awe to this here man , such friendly eyes , i could embrace
He wrote a message in the sand
I could not understand a word
He looked at me , and i looked at him
On gloomy days i think about that man
His dark skin so radiant
His hands a friendly touch
His voice angelic i imagined
He lingers in my mind on gloomy days. ❤
There’s so much longing in this. I picture a tight shot of a table and someone waiting for someone they love dearly but never seeing them.
Reminds me of a "modern version" of Satie in energy, rhythm and melody! Coincidence?
Satie is one of the inspirations for Benjamin Clementine, so it's not a coincidence.
so goooood
Sublime, as he is.
🍁 3 great Albums 🍂
love it
Great pianoplayer, composer, singer... 💕
I was rolling through my index of classical music that calms me down, and it just hit me that this very song is in it!
I started playing a few notes in my head, thinking of Erik Satie or Claude Debussy, and up popped Benjamin Clementine!
Very "cinematic" - love it!
❤❤
Absolument talentueux, un artiste fabuleux, un peu surréaliste, on rêve à chaque fois... C'est un de mes favoris, j'aime toutes ses compositions et interprétations
Those intro notes struck me with such melancoly I wasn't able to quit and regain control of the morning movement of the smoke shading my lungs... Beautifully sad.
Hmmm. it feels joyful to me.
So beautiful. I love it.
lovely
inoubliable! exceptionnel! les derniers mouvements de l'espoir...
Awesome Benjamin

If only I could get you to understand the phenomenon of what my expression entails. Allow the notes to sink into your cells, and feel me, do not just hear me. Something's are beyond needing of acknowledgement, and approval, there are hidden codes in musical notes, that can bring you higher or stagnant you depending on your individual level of conciousness, my music are keys to unlocking energetic doorways in you, through the passages of my voice and the touches of my soul transmuted through a musical instrumental, I bring you hope.

I dont know if is there any thing about understanding other point of view... after having a first moment of denial choosing the other and then, understanding where and why it is wrong and so the right behaviour and consequence is respect...analysing the hall situation even remarkables examples of desespaire... god I ask you to better late lead me to understand to be in comunhao.... dificult to know what to do to have balance...
It reminds me of Erik Satie
