I've finally sort of learned how to avoid the spin most of the time. The snakey charge move leaves a trail of poison that gets me sometimes even after dodging in what feels unfair but playing in close the ball sometimes gets me before I can react and feels like nothing I could of done to stop it.. maybe learn the tell for when its coming to back off? I tried once with a companion and it was cake walk easy like no challenge at all but solo i just cannot seem to do it but I refuse not to. I will not play a souls game with an ai taking all the fun away even if it was balanced with the buddy in mind. I've got her to under 25% so I'm sure I can in another 30 or so tries but wow I suck at this game. Beat her about 3 tries after this post.. ended up keeping iron body up the whole fight and only had 1 homing ball of death to deal with so I got lucky. still was down to 300 hp and no estus.. didn't even remember I had the 3 consumable healing things and just went for it. She has all the power in the world with insane mobility while you're still at level 10sh with LIMITED mobility. I enjoyed the game until now. In fact, right before her fight is when I started to become really frustrated. The enemies mobility is far too great for your character. Giving you little fucking times to dodge in time and so-forth. i just followed this guide and beat it in one go with Yakumo. Yeah i'm not as hard core as the rest of you in soloing.... and it's my first play through.. I got great respect for the solo players!
For melee focused build people like me: You can use the sonic arrow gift (only costs 1 ichor) to get rid of the ball of death thingy. Make sure it is in front of you before you use sonic arrow.
This fight was way too hard for beginners lol. I died so many times. I actually started hating Yakumo a bit because he would just stand there. Then I just decided to go full throttle and yolo it. And Yakumo got the last hit.
It is undeniably punishing for how early into the game it is. That and it is far before you really get any good resistances or means of deflecting venom that are viable if you're struggling with the fight. Take 1 bad hit and you're now on a time crunch, which for a 4-5 min bossfight with strict healing and animation timing, is kind of annoying. That and the companion either does something, or absolutely nothing as usual. To top the tree, it's variety of attacks and fast movements are pretty hard to get down for new players who are just trying to adjust to how the boss moves. We just barely came from a slow but hard hitting boss, can we at least have another boss with understandable telegraphing? Anyways, loving this game so far. I'm gonna go cope, mald, and seethe somewhere else now. Ciao

Souls veteran here. Beating this boss solo after 30 or so tries sent me into a fit of excitement I haven’t felt since Ornstein and Smough (I was literally bouncing off the walls in joy and amazement). It seemed impossible at first, but I eventually was able to recognize and avoid her moves since each move has a short but distinct telegraph animation. The sunset sky with all the ruined structures in the background made me feel truly epic as I fought the boss, especially during the second phase when the second soundtrack kicks in. Although the game has been somewhat dissappointing for me so far since it hasn’t felt like a SoulsBorne game very often, this boss fight is one of the moments that truly made me feel like I was playing a brand-new SoulsBorne game, and one of my favorite first-playthrough boss fights in any game of this genre. Great job Bandai Namco!
Strange, I'm also a souls veteran, but I felt that bosses are pretty easy in code vein, with this one being among the hardest so far (I just beat successor of the throat), thus requiring almost 10 tries from me. I was probably more careful about not losing haze than I was in dark souls, but I also skipped farming here, which is something I did in most souls games. I'm not even properly upgrading my equipment, so I'm not sure why the bosses were this much easier than in DS.
This boss kept me for over an hour of progressive anger and a growing feeling of giving up. The feeling when I got down her attack patterns and finally killed her was so god damn satisfying.
I will say as a beginner boss, this boss is a straight slap to the face. I honestly don’t even know how I beat it in my first playthrough. I will say tho, In ng+ this boss becomes a lot more manageable to beat. She can easily one shot you still BUT it’s just a matter of practice and using the right equipment and buffs. I used berserker code with attack buffs and executioner weapon 👍
This boss is honestly about to make me quit the game. Shouldn't have to use Bayonet to deal with her. Having only one real viable weapon vs a boss is poor design.
@@blainehock754 it's a trade-off, the bayonet has like the weak stats in exchange for weight and range (that's practically a free gift with no cooldown).

The funny thing is I completely skipped this boss and went on to fight The Executioner 😂. Needless to say when I went back and found the area I missed out, I was super over powered and took her out with ease 👍
I'm so late to the past but thank you so much for this advice, I literally got her on my second try and it's my first soulslike game. I cannot thank you enough.
I just got the game yesterday and I’ve been stuck on this since and I’ve been going back and getting haze and trying to level up. So I’ll give this a try. But everytime I try to dodge I always still get hit

Honestly my strategy was to just turtle her regular attacks, run away from the poison ball of death that heat seeks you, and use blow of madness and iron will, its also good to activate blow of madness run up to her at the start of the fight and use triple annihilator with the beserker build and a Great sword obviously for great damage at the start. my sword was +3
"she shoots 5 purple projectiles at you, dodge forward and attack her its free damage AND THERE'S VERY LITTLE RISK" I dodged into it like he said and I was close enough for all 5 to hit me for an instant kill like it was fucking dark bead!
This boss have way too many hp imho, in fact unlike souls games boss hp here did not seem to scale according to number of players. I like the challenge but evading for five minutes and repeating the same strategy dozens of times kinda boring for me.
@@lordvasha5246 too bad that playing with a companion might as well be like playing in one of those story modes I've seen games do where the combat is a complete joke and is designed for people that want to faceroll just to see the story.
Once i had the attack patterns down the one hangup was the purple homing orb of death. Pretty much made it so i would have to run until it was gone which would force me out of melee range with the boss which means it will probably turn out another purple orb of death starting what i like to call the running around like a chicken with my head cut off until i eventually get hit and poisoned then die death spiral. I just killed it before i looked up the video because i'm a proud bastard but damn knowing that i could just shoot the orb to break up that cycle would have been sanity preserving.
I followed the comment and let Yakumo did all the work. And he did well, phew. My lost bayonetta is +3 but it dealt so little dmg, i chose coco blood drive too
Took me over an hour with that thing. I could parry the tail whip most of the time, but the poison got me everytime no matter where I combat-rolled. Finally after besting it, I headed back to the base and the Coco girl shared her blood code that actually got poison resistance... yah! keep mocking me, game!
I accidentally wandered in there with half health and three regen factors and somehow won. I don't know how, this is the first boss I've got first try.
Recommend doing your first playthrough without companions at all. Much more challenging and rewarding. When I did my second playthrough and used companions for the first time, the game actually felt like a joke due to how OP they are. Without them it really is on par with Dark Souls though. One thing that I do respect about companions is their AI though, they are actually good at dodging and buffing/reviving you. DS phantoms don't compare at all. Ofc this just makes them even more OP. lol
This boss, this FUCKING BOSS. I was so pissed off, I did it with a partner. I was so close to killing it, but her unparryable death spin and poison killed me WITHOUT FAIL EVERYTIME. In hindsight, visiting homebase and staring vehemently at Coco's tits while buying anti-venom would have been the best option.
After completing the game with a follower I decided it was time for a rerun without a follower. Took me about 4 hours to kill this boss using a bardiche. Your kill is so much more smooth it's actually amazing :D
Her dragon's roar sound effect... is it sampled from the film The Swan Princess when Rothbart transforms into the Great Animal? Swear it sounds so familiar.
People: its easy just keep dodging! Me: dodgin with louis attackin Us: both still dies from 3 hits despite bein lvl 19 We did get her pretty low the other day But we were sharin the same 50 points of health between each other with no health potions
I dont understand why this boss is way harder than the next few bosses in the game. I first try-ed the dried trench boss and only die once against Hatsune Miku boss, while here I died at least 5 times against her.
I can't get this thing down and I'm level 32 with a +4 Devour Bayonet. I had to switch my tactic up from my halberd because heavy weps just suck against bosses, only getting in 1 hit if you're lucky and then being wide open. Idk maybe I'm playing it wrong
I found some new cores and using the halberd from the water waifu with the devour bayonet and more parry backstab focused for mobs and then bayonet for bosses. Just made it to anor londo (spoiler?) and working pretty well so far
I've so far beat almost every boss with a greatsword. Its OP as shit and I can get in several hits and still dodge, it's all about timing and positioning. I find the dex weapons impossible to do any damage, bosses feel like they have twice the hp.
I still can't beat her... Ugh, I'm new to the whole 'tough boss' type of games so honestly, it gets a bit annoying for me >.< I've tried upgrading my weapons as well as my veil but nothing works for me bleh...
The whole thing can come down to just hours of practice. On Sekiro's release it took me over 40 attempts on one boss to get it down. Just keep at her and learn the attack patterns, you'll get her!
@@Alphalead42 Yeah, though honestly to avoid getting pissed with the game I've stopped playing, I got the hang of it slightly...died a lot when I nearly got her half-way gone but oh well.
Gear can help boost your skills but does not make them. It is frustrating, i died over 20x but I managed to dance with her and beat her. Learn her patterns, know when to advance and when to retreat. Had Louis to help w/ aggro. I boosted my atk and rushed her with a Zweihander +1 and used Triple Annihilator and dodged 2x to avoid her first AOE. Switched to Sunset Sword and used light atks and dodged away when stam is at 1/3. Lots of hit/run but when she comes to you she does her swipes or her spins 2x and you just dance under her. Swing Zwei light 2x and dodge away or flurry of lights with sunset sword. Her ranged atks only go so far and can be dodged. When she gets close to dying she becomes frenzied and going CQB is risky. Skill combo can be used to finish her.
@@renlazkrovich Ahh okay, man too bad her health bar doesn't keep the damage you've already done each time you fight her even if you die many many times. Oh well...
Man I'm playing this solo on my first playthrough and my god it took me hours just to beat her, And it was worth it, my weapon was the sunset sword and my strategy for this boss was just to wait for the flying attack and after she lands I hit her with 3 strikes then backing off, her projectile poison ball I just fireball it for it to disappear, and the four poison projectile she sometimes uses, I use those as an opportunity to get close and hit her with two strikes, I did this on repeat lol
Got my shit stomped by her for a couple of hours. Then had that run where i finally understood the timing of all her moves. Beat her today with a queenslayer plus 3 at lvl19 solo. Adrenalin was my main go to other wise i barely did any damage. Still not sure if i want to continue solo or not.
Playing solo and this boss is souring my experience. I would think my experience with DS3 and Sekiro would help but the dodging feels laggy and imprecise to me. Hoping to push through this boss solo and do the rest of the game with an ally.
I soloed her, took me about 30 tries, maybe not quite. I used zweihander, Prometheus (blood code). Passives I used were ice buff, health boost, stamina boost, venom resistance. Queen slayer thorn as bloodveil and venom removal, blow of madness, adrenaline, iron will as gifts. I hope this helps you even if a little. Good luck, roll right and watch her hips.
@@bignuts465 yeah helps a little. I'll focus on inheriting those two venom skills and keep going at her. How's your progress throughout the rest of the game so far
@@EnragedLuffy I'm moving along. For the 2nd boss if you stay between his legs and block his spin attack and quick jab he does from above, he's not too bad. I died like 12 times to him but again it takes me longer to beat these guys. Still nothing harder than DS3 DLC bosses imo.
@@bignuts465 amen to that. Slave Night Gael was insane. Finally beat Butterfly thank god. Btw, would you agree the dodging feels weird in the game compared to other Souls-like games? I always feel like my inputs aren't going through or that some dmg is unavoidable
@@EnragedLuffy I agree. There is times where I feel faster than I was in Dark Souls but then other times I feel way too slow. Ultimately it's just a matter of adjusting and learning. If you die to each boss 20-50 times so be it. When you do beat them it is so satisfying and still gives you that adrenaline rush when they're one shot.
I've got nearly all the weapons in my cabinet of code vein and my lost Beretta gun is a level of three and I'm only a level 30 I'm having so much troubles with killing her and yes I've already tried shooting her my target gun capability won't lock on
Man I just got whooped by Invading Executioner solo so I said let me try this path and man im getting my azz beat here too. I just killed it before i looked up the video because i'm a proud bastard but damn knowing that i could just shoot the orb to break up that cycle would have been sanity preserving.
I followed the comment and let Yakumo did all the work. And he did well, phew. My lost bayonetta is +3 but it dealt so little dmg, i chose coco blood drive too
Thank you! I did it third try by doing all the dodges you did! Was easier than the Invader
I defeated her first try on my first playthrough, but new game+'s harder difficulty is giving me an ass whooping, thanks for the tips!
Whenever she looks like she’s about to do anything, just roll behind her, you’ll be perfectly fine 99% of the time
This thing was harder than Orphan of Kos ffs....
She is Father Gascoigne or The Pursuer of the game. Depends which of them gave ya a hard time.
Ofc this just makes them even more OP. lol
Get Venom removal gift also for this boss
This boss, this FUCKING BOSS. I was so pissed off, I did it with a partner. I was so close to killing it, but her unparryable death spin and poison killed me WITHOUT FAIL EVERYTIME.
In hindsight, visiting homebase and staring vehemently at Coco's tits while buying anti-venom would have been the best option.
im level 50 and still struggling
Bruh I was trying this at level 6 💀no wonder I kept dying I almost killed her at one point cause of louise but I died
Lvl 15 at min
0:42 those snake things looks very similar with god eaters devouring monster on the weapon
I mostly just let the AI rush in and spammed it with ranged attacks. Sometimes I also rushed in and that was it
After completing the game with a follower I decided it was time for a rerun without a follower. Took me about 4 hours to kill this boss using a bardiche. Your kill is so much more smooth it's actually amazing :D
Because of your help I defeated the water lady boss and this also helps thank you, really, you are the best
I am stuck in that boss for like 3 hours i only have 4 regenerations and big thing and best try was like 3/4 hp gone on her
This game is free on ps+ and this vide helped out hella yo 🙏😭
It's funny how this boss gave me more problems than most of the other shit you fight afterwards.
Thanks for the help. Greatly appreciated.
Her dragon's roar sound effect... is it sampled from the film The Swan Princess when Rothbart transforms into the Great Animal? Swear it sounds so familiar.
How are you not getting poisoned i get poisoned almost everytime she does that charge attack. I was back farther you and still got poisoned
Jesus, thank you, this bish was causing me a bunch of trouble
Honestly after dying about 10 plus times I restarted the game and worked my way up as a berserker, I destroyed her ass
People: its easy just keep dodging!
Me: dodgin with louis attackin
Us: both still dies from 3 hits despite bein lvl 19
We did get her pretty low the other day
But we were sharin the same 50 points of health between each other with no health potions
How does one even get more potions smhh. Three def not enough for me
They dont even heal good!
I realized poison ressistance does absolutely nothing
honestly thankyou for the guide haha
honestly things like this makes the game temporarily unenjoyable. i just want to progress but this is way too difficult for me.
this battle is seriously pissing me off. i just want to play man i hate this
its the shit poison that is overused. other than that its fairly easy but tedious
If the combat were better I feel like this boss would be much, MUCH easier.
You're playing it wrong. Heavy weapons are the strongest weapons in this gsme
I found some new cores and using the halberd from the water waifu with the devour bayonet and more parry backstab focused for mobs and then bayonet for bosses. Just made it to anor londo (spoiler?) and working pretty well so far
I just beat her solo with zweihander but it was ruff. Still not as bad as DS3 DLC bosses or old hunter dlc bosses.
Oh well...
Man I'm playing this solo on my first playthrough and my god it took me hours just to beat her, And it was worth it, my weapon was the sunset sword and my strategy for this boss was just to wait for the flying attack and after she lands I hit her with 3 strikes then backing off, her projectile poison ball I just fireball it for it to disappear, and the four poison projectile she sometimes uses, I use those as an opportunity to get close and hit her with two strikes,
I did this on repeat lol
I tanked this boss with my +3 stun Zweihander. Unlimited agro, stunlock, and poison spam isn’t a fun time.
Thanks man I'm a scrub so I am stuck on this level n I'm doing baldy coz for some reason the game can't read my controller T.T
Thanks a lot. I don't like it when crappily designed bosses kill me😁
I finally beat the boss after 20 times and I was so excited and then to have the power go out right before I can save. 😠 uhhhhh
This boss is awfully designed
hitboxes, attack patterns, the attacks themselves
Just bad
This has taken me more tries than Midir and Gael combined..
literally first tried her with 2handed sword, walked in, used all my potions but still pulled through
Ok, I've been trying to fight from a distance. It's been going badly.
Thats a very good looking boss
wait... you can actually shoot the poison projectile!!!??? I feel like an idiot now... does it work if you use a magic projectile too?
Yes
I just leveled up to level 40 and came back later lmao
I gotta practice more lmao, I'm level 30 with Louis' sword equipped and I'm still getting whooped
The difficulty spike on this boss is absurd tbh.
OMG THANNNNKKKK YOUUUUUUU
That homing ball really messed me up but i beat her with zwei hahaha not a very tough fight but the poison is really annoying
I went into this boss thinking it was gonna be easy. Its like the first real boss of the game. How tough could it be? 😒
thank you for helping me cause holy shit i couldn’t beat her 😂
This boss has a case of DS2 Hitbox syndrome
watch this guide and finish in one try.. before this keep dying.. thanks
At some point I ran out of ichor and let louie secure the w.
Thx really it work
OK LOOKING AT THIS NOW IM GLAD USED THE STRATEGY JUST A MIN AGO BC THIS SHIT IS RE ARDED!!
That explains everything. wrong weapon I was useing.
I've got nearly all the weapons in my cabinet of code vein and my lost Beretta gun is a level of three and I'm only a level 30 I'm having so much troubles with killing her and yes I've already tried shooting her my target gun capability won't lock on
I FINALLY BEAT THAT BOSS
Is it possible to parry some attacks of bosses?
Ah so gun is as usual best weapon 😂
Also best thing about having a partner is the bosses target them instead of me. I could never solo this.
Man I just got whooped by Invading Executioner solo so I said let me try this path and man im getting my azz beat here too. Lol These boss fights are very cool though and definitely have the difficulty curve. Im loving this game quite a bit. I will get it, im just still a weakling and my skill isnt honed yet. Im digging the challenge solo though for sure.
this is more a ranger a person who like to get personal like me it's way tougher then this
this boss is way to fast and just stun locks u to death, its just unfair,
