they could of still beaten the Celtics with ariza! he had the same chip on his shoulder when they took that pounding in 08. Man this dude should of never left. he had a potential to be a superstar. from a slasher to an all around player. even had a clutch gene and under the mentoring of Kobe and Phil Jackson, I wouldn't had no doubt that this dude could of been right there on pau gasols level not Kobe's but paus. but from there he went down hill. has a nice career but with the Lakers he would of been better. we probably would of been talking about a 3 peat instead of a 2 peat.

The value of Trevor to that championship team has been downplayed a bit because Ron came in and pretty much replaced his role and position and the Lakers still went back-to-back... which prompted the idea that it didn't matter which guy played the 3, we would've won a title anyway. I think we could've gotten the three-peat or even four-peat had we signed Trevor for three years (which is the remainder of his prime). Love Metta, though, and I'm glad he won a ring with us.
