Clarity and individualism. The curators of this fair have really pulled together something amazing here. Thank You Mary for your efforts in bringing it to us.
Love, love, love your videos! I get to travel around the world and learn about all these great works and artists. Thx Mary, keep up the awesome work!!!
Its amazing how you found so much art in Stockholm, I thought you would be dissapointed there. But next year I Will also travell to the art week. Nice video indeed
Thank you for allowing us to see this Swedish fair through your lens. You have shown us works that most of us would never have exposure to. In the video, you touched upon something that I think is critical to our understanding of modern art. How much time do you need to spend with a piece in order to understand it? Will your appreciation be enhanced if you spend another few minutes studying it? I went to Milwaukee over the weekend, which of course is not as titillating as going to Stockholm. However, I visited the Milwaukee Art Museum, which is quite impressive for the size of the city, if only for the Calatrava Brise Soleil. I spent over five hours strolling through the galleries. I saw and absorbed EVERYTHING.
As an artist, watching people flow thru a gallery briefly gazing or even ignoring a work of art that someone toiled over, stressed over, took forever to get completed and or started is depressing...people are either struck to stop and gaze for another few seconds but are compelled to continue walking around...why paint, sculpt, create it...there must be some inert masochistic trait we endure...
I paint for pleasure and I really don't care much if someone likes it or not. Of course, I enjoy it when someone with a soul enjoys my paintings and takes one, which happened maybe 4 or 5 times in my life.
