The fearful days and the hopeful nights
Trekking many a mile to escape the plight
In the end, their efforts proved too little
Their efforts felt no light
Push away from their chance of hope, their guiding light
When their fears caught up there was no escape in sight
Lost to the darkness, swallowed up by the plight...

i'm not even a minute into this and i already love it
Asylum, a sad and sorrow place
where they treat you like your crazy,
but you're not that bad of a case,
doesnt stop them from being too hasty.
The place didn't help for sure,
Mentally and physically hurting the core,
but you just gotta act proper,
otherwise you'll be stuck there forever.
Continuous treatment feels like overdosing,
each time the medicine keeps on evolving,
wondering are they running a test? pondering who's the sane one from the rest.

Nothing but the screaming, cackling voices in my head...
My cell is a reflection of my mental self...
The padding on the walls, they think, keeps me safe...yet I only feel more trapped.
The straitjacket...coiled about me like a hungry snake, with no way out.
The light from the moon illuminates my cell, but shows me what awaits just outside...
Entombed in the recesses of the cell that is my mind, I can do naught but laugh...
So it has come to this. My mind is truly gone.
Life...no...living death in this...
ASYLUM.

Concuerdo.
Seeking asylum is a means of protection from political atrocities. Commitment to an asylum is treatment for mental illness. Each are unwilling choices and destinations. No one wants to be forced from home. Who is to say that the next place is any better? Looming death comes to either one. Escape, to another prison. Needing escape but confused on where to go afterwards. Seeking asylum, one final time. No more running, no more screaming, one final time. Asylum into possible paradise, but fearful of it being another hell.
